Galaxy Note 4

On my way now to Dunkin Donuts to get a cup of java and a nice hot corn muffin slightly buttered. Got through my workout already this morning so nothing to stop me from setting this beast up after I pick it up.

If I bang on the door hard enough, maybe BB will let me in a little early. They gotta be pretty sick of me by now though yesterday it was a turn for an AT&T store instead.

Anyhow, I hear the drums beating!

Nice! You had to get a workout in to get burn off the buttered corn muffin! :)
 
First impressions

Fingerprint scanner works with everytime I try and access the home screen.

Good to hear man. Can you do it one handed though easily? That is one of the things I was wondering since you have to swipe the finger/thumb across the button vs just resting the finger on it.

If it's on the bed it's fine not as easy when on a dock.

Good thing that I'm pleased with nils notifications work with the finger print scanner

Sweet. does the scanner work sideways one-handed? like hold with left hand and swipe with left thumb? or does the finger need to be straight vertical?

Can be any direction. Just use the same as you trained it. I do it one handed holding phone with right hand. Swipe down slowly for more accuracy.

Doesn't need to be straight. The animated picture fools people. If you start off with your finger straight, that's the animation it shows. But it will detect when your holding it a certain way and sliding your thumb down, a differ animation will appear.

That's good to know.
I wasn't impressed with the fingerprint scanner on the S5 and was a bit hesitant about it on the Note 4.
I wish it could be as easy to use as it is on the iPhone 6.
That's the one thing I'll miss on the iPhone.
 
NEVER pre-ordering from an AT&T Store again. Can't believe that my phone won't be here until Monday, when I could walk into a Best Buy, Micro Center, AT&T Store, etc. and purchase one right now. So bitter :(

Ya I saw one of the reviewers doing this and it seemed to work very well with the thumb sliding down at a kind of diagonal angle while holding the phone one handed. I suppose the bigger home button must be to improve the scanner efficiency.

Has yours shipped or did you get an official your device is back ordered email like I did? I preordered around 9/21
 
This freaking beast is just awesome.

Everything from gaming, browsing, reading, one hand operation, multiwindow, etc.

Everything so far has either meet or beaten my approval. Between the time I spent with it at Best Buy and using it continually since I got it I am just thrilled with it.

I was able to get a set of earbuds with the AT&T variant by just going to the Samsung reps at BB and asking if they had any available. Lickity split and I got a set.

I don't really use a camera on a smartphone but I will with this one. It shouldn't be much longer for leaves on trees to turn in my area so I will start there.

And Android L is coming!

Thanks to Samsung for this wonderful device and also their reps and the folks at BB who have easily exceeded my customer service experience.

Think I will need more than 24 hours in a day so I do not lose any sleep using the Note 4. :)
 
Just ordered mine from amazon. Gets here tomorrow. Will see how much better it is than my S5 Active.
 
just got mine...problem now is that helium can't see my external sd card to restore the note3 backups...stupid kitkat limitation...is there any ways around that? how are you guys transferring app+data from the note 3 to the 4?

edit: i guess work-around is copy entire carbon folder over to internal sd card, then restore...damnit i'm missing root already

edit again: how do you add widgets, NILS specifically, to the lockscreen? its been a while since i've used the stock lockscreen but i want to try it this time with the finger print reader
