My favourite flagship for 2014.

Build is amazing (finally) and I actually like the Pleather Back combo. The Display is stunning and the S-Pen is the cherry on top.

The Note 3 didn't last long I sold it after just two months because it was too big I wished they stuck with 5.5" but this why I love TouchWiz sometimes by adding Side Control Panel it pretty much solve the size issue.

Do you already have or have used a Nexus 6?

All of a sudden, "Ok Google" detection is no longer available as Always On and is grayed out under Google Now options. "This feature is currently unavailable for this language." What's up??!?

Only works for US English, did you not notice my post straight after Jamezr that says that ;)

The only app I am missing is a reminders app. Is there anything that can sync from the reminders app to the note and back?

Note 3 was too big but the 4 is not??

I have everything syncing and working? Still fiddling with the camera app. Do you guys take pics with HDR on or off?

The lag I see is the scroll lag. I hate it so much that I'm thinking about a nexus 6 although this screen is so damn pleasing to look at. Even in tapatalk on these forums when scrolling slowly reading the post there is this delay that drives me insane. Also yes the multi app button takes a long time to load.

It s now a week that I am playing with my black Note 4 and will definitely keep it (I had some hesitations with Nexus 6)

First thoughts :
+ device reaction is excellent, no lag
+ screen is beautiful (though bit too small for that, reading docs and books is definitely doable)
+ battery is good but could have been better (with gps nfc bluetooth and data off and auto set brightness i get 1 day of life including 6 to 7 hours of screen time, i intend to buy extra battery kit when available)
+ i found all apps i wanted on android store and did not notice any quality difference vs same apps on iOS
+ i really like stylus sensitivity, it is sometimes more convenient than using fingers

- coming from 5 years of iOS, android looks very messy and not polished enough

I wonder how i managed to survive with a smaller screen, and was expecting this 5,7 inch screen to be even bigger!
This 6 inch screen was what attracted me in Nexus 6 on top of stock Android. Facts that i can enjoy extra 128 GB from sd card and removable battery as a power user will let me stay with Note 4.

As a side note, some people around me obvisously played with it, as a result one of them will buy a note soon. At the opposite my father in law who still uses an iphone 4 intends to get a nice handset for Christmas but relative complexity of Android made him go for an iphone 6...

Just interested why you think Android is messy? Is it perhaps the TouchWiz skin that isn't to your liking?

Granted TW does have it's fair share of menus and options and can be overwhelming at first. The more I kept with it, the more tweaks and useful functions I came across.

And if anyone wants to see a ton of menus, check out iOS 8 settings. Wow, they really went wild in there.

I am considering an note 4, but never had an android device. Will the note 4, or any android device play iTunes purchased music and videos or maybe I would be better off sticking with iOS? Thanks

The Note 4 is nice, but it's huge (then again you know that when getting a phablet).

I have an S5 (had an S3 before) and the screen is a perfect size. My friend has the Note 4 and she loves it for everything, and the battery is great.

True that writing this I probably judged TW rather than Android.
I indeed think there are too many menus and path to some features is really /too long.
Also I am still green to Android so need some more weeks to get used to it.
Dont know whether it comes from Android or TW but there are redundancies and too many preloaded apps, forms to fill in, pop up windows etc
I was using iOS 6 before and wife is still with 7 so iOS 8 remains a question mark to me.

One important point I forgot to mention in my first post is that at last I can play with my files the way I want without having to put iTunes in the loop and THAT is great plus.

Definitely one thing that scares me with the Note is that when Android L comes to the Note 4 there is a chance it will not look like Android L, it's going to look like Touchwiz. Android L from what I have seen with the new GMail and Google+ apps looks really good. I also like how the notifications looked but the notifications are going to be what Samsung wants, not what Google designed it to be. Unfortunately there is no timetable when the Nexus 6 will come to Verizon so we have the Moto X or Droid Turbo and neither really impressed me much. I previously had a Galaxy S4 and it is not fair to compare the S4 to the Note 4 but as far as I'm concerned Touchwiz is Touchwiz and it's not something I care for. I know there is a Dev Edition but I'm not paying $700 for a phone, I'd rather spend that on my wife and kids. I upgrade when my 2 year contract is up and it has been up since January of this year.

Touchwiz / Android 4.4.4 is quite good on the Note 4. It actually has many Lollipop-like looks and features. I recommend everyone check it out before making any assumptions.

still lags on 4.4.4 with TW, this is completly unacceptable for a device rocking a 2.7 ghz Quad core with 3 GB of RAM, its honestly still completely unacceptable at the fact that it takes a few seconds to delete multiple photos and videos off the device, IF i tag 50 photos to delete, why does it take 3 seconds to delete with a loading bar? why isnt it instant like it is on a iPhone?

I thought that originally too. But in rereading he mentioned that it was the side panel key that made the difference--the Note 3 doesn't have that feature.

Michael
The note 3 did have one handed use mode, which in my opinion is better implemented than the side panel (Note 4 still has this)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but in don't think processor speed or ram has anything to do with how quickly things can be deleted? Surely this is to do with the speed of the storage memory? Can't imagine the iPhone would be faster in this department as samsung makes the memory,no?
