4G connectivity is not great where I am, but I'm on WiFi most of the time..
I'll try disabling 4G and see what happens. Even with 1-2 bars it's still faster than 3G though..

Mine on 220v says "fast charger connected". I don't have a 110v outlet handy to test though.

Anyway, I've been using the note 4 for about 2 weeks now, Exynos version. I'm loving the features, the screen and the speed. This thing is fast! It's faster and smoother than my ipad air. "Android lag vs ios smoothness" no longer exists.

What I'm not liking is the battery. I'm not getting anywhere near what they say in reviews, or even what other people post in forums. Tried everything but couldn't find a cause, I'm starting to worry I have a bad unit.. And considering my previous experience with Samsung support, I don't think it will be easy to replace it.. They'll just say I'm using it wrong and refuse to acknowledge a problem.

Anyone also experiencing worse than expected battery life?
What battery stats are you getting on average?

Even on wifi, your phone is still searching for cellular connectivity so this could certainly be the problem. Hope you see better results.

12-14 hours total with 2:30 - 3 hours of screen on time, which is around half of what some people are getting.

Tomorrow I'll spend the day with LTE off, see what I get.
You should show your app battery usage. 2 to 3 of intense 3d gaming can deplete the battery.

Was watching this video when is saw the lag happen right at 14:30 lol .. took like 5 seconds for the guy to open his second app from the side bar.. it froze... I see what people are saying now with the lag even when it doesn't lag... the half a second lag.. i can see it when he opens the 3rd app. Never had this happen to me on iphone. I don't like having to fix and customize so much not to have it lag like that//

Flossy also noted that the simple fixes for the lag were to turn off all animations and go to s voice then into s voice settings. Uncheck open via the home key. Both fixes are pretty well known and eliminate what you saw in the video.

It's the Android kernel itself spending most of the battery. I don't play any games and don't even have any social networks updating.

Today I'm testing with 4g off, currently at 73% battery with 7:20 hours of use and 1:14 of screen on time. Better than I had before but still doesn't look like I'll get the 6 hours some people are getting.

I'm not sure 6 hours of SOT is what most people can reasonably hope or expect to get. Without using any power saving options I can generally get 4+ hours SOT which I'm quite happy with.

My Android System sometimes takes a ton of battery life, I have no idea why. I know on my Note 3 once in a blue moon something just sucks all the battery out of it in 2-3 hours and when I look at battery it says Android System, but beyond that I have no idea what it was.

Ending the day with 38% battery left, 17:30 hours of use with 3:10 of screen on. It seems 4G was indeed the main culprit. I might consider changing carrier or just waiting for better coverage in my area. Although 4G is very fast, I still have a data limit per month, so it's not such a big loss.

Looks like I would in fact get near 5 hours which seems to be the average for most people. However I would really have to go out of my way to use the phone for 5 hours in a day. For now I'm happy with the battery life :)

For me usually about 5 to 6 hrs sot over 30hrs. Using 4G with about 3 bar signal.

Yeah 4 to 5 hours is considered good usage

was impressed by my battery life yesterday. Woke up at 38% and didn't get to 1% till about 22.30 at night

In total got 1 day, 10 hours with 4 hours and 10 mins screen time

Anyone getting a weird lag in hitting the power button and just getting a black screen for several seconds? It's sporadic and not the norm, but it's very annoying.

I gotta say after cheerleading for this phone for so long the glamour is starting to wear off. My wife just bought an iPhone 6 (she kind of hated the Note 3) and I took my old Note 3 back and playing with them side by side I realize there wasn't much improvement in the new one, and the Note 3 is significantly faster. I'm thinking about throwing the Note 4 on swappa and just going back to the Note 3, at least I can root it.

Nope not even once. The light comes on immediately. Maybe your set is defective. My android system power usage varies from 16 to 20%. I didn't do any modification or disable any built in apps. However I have Google now turned off since it is useless. But I have ok google to wake up from stand by enabled.

I have checked it side by side with note3 before. Most apps opened a little faster on the note3 (some apps it can be half a second faster). But since the last firmware update a few days ago the app startup has improved. It is now very close. However in terms of overall speed the note 4 is still better.

I'm also loving my Note 4. My biggest complaint is the lag in Hangouts. Every other app flies but for some reason Hangouts runs like a snail. Pretty sure it's not the phones fault though..

I'm thinking I have a defective unit as well, it is really slow. It wasn't when I first got it, but it's progressively gotten worse. I know the next step is a full wipe, but I'm trying to avoid that. My GPS has also been weird lately, and my first Note 3 had the GPS hardware fail.

On my Note 4 hangouts is extremely slow, but on my Note 3 it's instant. Another app that is horrendous is when switching from camera to gallery, on the Note 3 it takes 2-3 seconds and on my Note 4 it can take upwards of 15-20 seconds. As I posted above it's gotta be a defective unit or an app I installed, I just can't imagine lag this bad would be normal.

Hangout doesn't lag on my note4. I use it without merging sms.

I encounter the lag (around 5 to 8 secs) when openning gallery from camera. But this only happens first time after reboot and you have not opened gallery before. Subsequently it is like 1 sec delay.

Can anyone recommend a reputable place to get the Note 4 unlocked? I'm putting it on swappa and would like to offer it unlocked.

From someone who has used both, what gets more screen on time? 6 Plus or Note 4?

It's funny you should ask. I use both 6+ and N4. I use one as my daily driver until I get bored with it or just miss the other phone/OS. Right now I have been using my 6+ for a few days. They are both great phones.

Note 4. It has the better battery stats if you look on reviews or comparisons. Can't go wrong with either since their batteries are awesome.
