Update. So everything on the phone is great, everything works and runs the way it's supposed to, however there is a very deep scratch on the back about an inch long. Should I ask for another phone or just keep this one? You can't see it strait on, but you can feel it and you can see it at an angle.

As OnePlus says, never settle!

Man, my Note 5 didn't come with one of those, I always miss out....

Seriously, even though mine is always in a case, that would do my head in....

I wouldn't say it's worth the complications. I'd say stick with it.

Yah I'd ask for another one!! Although replacing the back is quite easy and replacement backs are about $18 on ebay. I took mine off, put it on the side for warranty claims and took the new one and completely blacked it out.

Anyone getting crap battery after Marshmallow update? Mine drain to 50% from in about 3 hours, only thing I have constantly running is iHeartRadio on wifi.

Further to the above.

For example today it took over three hours to charge from 57% to 100%. Phone was being charged whilst turned off.

Noticed the other day when recharging both the recharger & the back of the Note got pretty warm whilst recharging & phone turned off. And when I mean warm I do mean very warm sometimes.

Could this be caused by an app, say something like anti-virus, I run Avast?

You really shouldn't need to be running an anti-virus, but same token it shouldn't take 3 hours to charge 43% of a phone. Are you using Samsung's official fast charger ?

A virus won't have any effect while the phone is off, it sounds like something in hardware. Make sure your using Samsung's charger and clean the USB on your phone as well and the cable and charging port. If it's still happening, get another cable to test and if it still happens you may need to take the phone in to get repaired.

Hopefully it may extend the lifespan (we may see the new Grace UX as a TW upgrade, but that's likely just wishful thinking on my part).

Root + Xda = not wishful, but a reality. Just check out what software you can put on Note 4 atm :)

I got what I am assuming is an international Note 5 off a photo classifieds site I use today. The guy got it from Samsung as a gift when he was doing some work for them. He said he accidently put a few minor cracks on the back, I can live with that since I paid $225. He said there is no carrier branding, is the international version good? I won't get it until later in the week but I can't wait

Sounds great. You can get the glass backs on eBay. Just make sure it has the bands you need for your carrier. I think @spinedoc replaced his one time.

I replaced a Galaxy S7 back, nothing g to it but I won't worry with fixing it. It will go right in a case

I let my son have the Note 5, he loves it but he says the battery drops really fast once it gets down to a certain %. He is always streaming music and on his phone so I do not know if it is normal, what kind of sot should I expect out of it for heavy use?

I do stream heavily everyday (gym, driving, sometimes @ work and @ home) .. ~ 4 - 5hrs a day via BT (mostly Spotify and Google Music, with occasional YouTube Vids). Not much of a talker over the phone, so it's no more than about 20 mins if that, a few texts, crap load of emails (use Outlook Mobile), and a few texts.

Screen brightness at about 60% (with Auto checked) ; BT always ON ; wifi always ON ; & Location always ON .

Background apps that consume some battery all day : Viber, WhatsAPP, Widget (weather mostly, refreshing every hour), Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram

Device plugged off around 8 am, back on charger around 10 pm.
SOT ~ 3.5 - 4 hrs
Battery at end of day ~ 14 - 18% ( no battery saving mode enabled )

My son decided he wanted an iphone so I let him have a 128 gig iphone 6 I got for super cheap($230) so I took his Note 5 international over as my main phone. The phone is great and today is my first full day of normal use, I will be curious to see the battery life. I am at 93% with 4h 4m on the battery, screen on time is at 26 min

One complaint so far is the fingerprint scanner is really sub par, even the cheap Honor 5x I was using for a bit has a better scanner. I dont like how you have to hit the home button then let it register your fingerprint. Samsung has top of the line everything else, they should have a top shelf scanner. There is also some bloat I cant uninstall, while others it would let me. I cant uninstall Facebook, Instagram and MS Office apps
