Coverage is really good down here from T-Mobile. I'm on MetroPCS, which uses the T-Mobile networks, I bought the Note 4 from T-Mobile and used the MetroPCS sim card.

Coverage is great in Miami, At least from Homestead to Palm Beach Gardens, which is where I'll try it out more so. Band 12 has been supported since the beginning of the year, so even deep in the buildings in downtown, you will have good support. Wifi calling has been available for a while, I began using it back with the Galaxy S4.

Download speeds are fast. Usually I'm on Band 4 and download speeds in the afternoon can vary between 30Mbps-50Mbps. Overnight, download speeds are 60Mbps to a peak of 80Mbps. Still on 15MHz, once they increase it to 20MHz, download speeds will improve, not that I even need the high speeds I currently get.

I just chose MetroPCS over T-Mobile because it uses the same network and it's $55 flat for unlimited talk and data. Only pain is getting T-mobile to sell you the phones upfront without the plans, but once I jump through that mess, I don't even have to unlock the T-Mobile phone.

But you will have a great T-Mobile service down here.
Curious, I'm at the T-Mobile store and the rep told me that the coverage is good but spotty in certain spots like parking garages; has this been your experience?

Can someone with a note 5 tell me if you can download "material design" theme on the note 5? I saw it on a s6 and it looks pretty close to stock android

Yup, it's my favorite so far.

T-Mobile is horrific in buildings. It makes it unusable for me

So you don't recommend them?

There is WiFi calling I guess.. Nonetheless, I have 14 days to return if I don't like the service. I just dislike AT&T restrictions when it comes to certain things like rooting.

Edit: what device do you have?

I had the iPhone 6 and the nexus 5 on T-Mobile (about a month ago). They are great when you are outdoors. Go into a grocery store or building toward the middle and kiss your service goodbye.

I find this to be true on most buildings but not all. Thanks God for wifi calling at work. Sucks at underground parking lots though.

Note 5 blows the Nexus 6 out of the water for me. Using it made me miss my Note 4 in so many ways. Guess I prefer TW over pure Android.

Honestly it has not been my experience. Maybe it has to do with the phone supporting Band 12 and T-Mobile rolling out Band 12 in our area. Not as many phones support Band 12 yet, maybe they are speaking from that perspective? You can ask them about that. Band 12 helps support the lower frequencies, so I've seen my Note 4 switch from Band 4 to Band 12 to maintain 4G LTE connectivity. But I have not hit spots in which I lost complete service. Only time it has has happened has been when there is a network blackout.

That has been my experience though.

I'd say that happens with most carriers when it comes to underground parking, no?

Are you using a different launcher too ?

The app drawer icon in the middle - wish we could do that on TW
Yeah, I'm using Nova Launcher. I was really close to keeping the stock launcher, but I wasn't a fan of the folders, they're too small and had to scroll to see some of my apps, and like you I like the app drawer in the middle. I also like having swipe down to search like the iPhone and swipe up for Google now.

Well, t-mobile is deploying band 12, which will penetrate buildings to a much higher degree.

I'm on Nova also but wanted to stick to default TW. As Fernandez mentioned folder is small and I had issues putting apps in them and you can't sort within the folders either. Plus there is so much wasted space when using TW launcher.

So I got the device with T-mobile and the one thing I notice it took a little to download tapatalk. I got 14 days to test this puppy out.

You can manually sort inside folder. If the folders in the app drawer you have to hit 'edit' first. But yeah no auto sorting once inside folders independently. :( :)

Where are you located? Coverage seems okay in Florida.

Georgia. It's just inside buildings I had issues with. Go to your local grocery store and give it a try. Granted I don't go to the store anymore (thank you prime pantry :D)

Good job on getting the T-Mobile Note 5. You can root it too :)

Please let me know how it goes. I might also switch from ATT to T-Mobile just for the openess and unlocked bootloader.

I'm in Chicago, heard T-Mobile is pretty hood around here.

So, I just left Target where deep into the store I lost connection but connected to their WiFi and I was able to make calls once again. Pretty neat feature but these data drops are concerning; I won't always have WiFi to save me.
