Of course. When something does not support your type of cool-aid.
You're just hating now. If you read my previous comment, I said if I were to put both devices side-by-side and ran the same test, my iPhone 6s+ will most likely come out on top.

Who's drinking the *Kool-aid* now?

lol...not the same as using them as you daily phone. But I see what you are doing you just want to come into the new Note 7 thread and try to throw around something negative. The note 7 must really make you feel threatened as a iphone user to go to all that trouble.

You do know that the display models have a ton of extra software installed and have historically been slow in performance.

Using a phone for a minute or two in a store is not the same as using it for a few weeks as your everyday phone.
Then as I said....i have had all the phones in that video and do not notice a difference in performance in everyday use.

You think it might start opening apps faster after few weeks? Warm the hardware up.

Gotta love these useless videos like this. I have had all of the phones he mentions in the video and using them side by side you would NOT notice a difference in performance.
If this is supposed to simulate real world use....then actually show people using the phones. I have taken my S7 edge in the pool and shot underwater video....show that side by side with the iphone. Show rearranging something simple like icons. Then show adding extra storage by adding and SD Card. Show wireless charging. Show the huge difference in the display quality.
These types of videos do not simulate real world use. I switch between my S7 edge OPO3 and 6s+ all the time sometimes daily......I NEVER notice any phone being faster than the other.

Technology in smartphones has advanced to the point now that performance is not an issue with these phones.
It comes down to features they offer that match the users wants desires and lifestyle.

Exactly. Trust me, just show that video to anyone that doesn't care about tech in general, and they almost always say exactly this, "that looks stupid, who does that with their phone?"

Really misleading. Me and boy Kevin are standing in metro we figure we might just play something while we wait and we open same game which takes 2-3 seconds longer to load for him. Indeed misleading, because he tapped an icon first, then did i.
The better question is, who cares? What's the point?

The day that an app opening a split second slower than some other dudes phone, Mike's away, actually influences my life...I'll come and give you that satisfaction.

If this kind of thing actually bothers you, let alone influences your choice...then there is no argument here that you will consider.

The iPhone is the smoothest phone, and 3 years ago that was a big deal. Today, it's not. We are talking about millisecond differences, and one could argue it's simple animations.

The iPhone is a great phone, but to deny that the note 7 outclasses it in features and functionality, while doing so with a level of shine...that is simply silly.

You people care otherwise you would just ignore this.

I did a quick test with my s7 edge/iPhone 6s plus for speed and it was mixed. Both outdid each other in certain tests. In reality there is no real difference in speed and performance wise there is no difference. Both are very quick and the same will be with note 7 vs iPhone 7.

iPhone being 1 second faster opening up tapatalk certainly wouldn't make me rethink getting the note 7 that's for sure.

Video smackdowns like this do at least highlight differences in OS and such, personally I think there is more validity however comparing android to android rather than apples to oranges.

IOS has always been tremendously optimised, and if you want an iOS device then the only place you will get one is from Apple.

Android on the other hand comes in all shapes and sizes and there is a lot more variety which I think tests like this can highlight where one manufacturer may have benefit in faster ram and storage media whereas other OEM's prioritise ram management and lighter skins and such.

But as for real world scenario, yes no-one is opening apps as fast as this one after the other.

But... Most of us do have more apps open than we realise (contacts, dialer, calendar, notes, settings, camera, gallery, calculator, music player - with just that basic set you are up to 9). So we shouldn't dismiss tests like this completely out of hand. Throw in a couple of extra apps like Facebook, Facebook messenger, Tapatalk and hangouts and you are up to 13 apps. From a real world perspective it's how a device handles and runs with these kind of standard apps that we don't even think about that matters.

As long as the Note 7 performs as well as my S7 & S7e in doing so, I will have no complaints. For me app opening speed is less important and I generally use the same standard apps and have them open or refreshing in the background.

It will be interesting to see a Note 7 snapdragon vs exynos speed test only to see how different SOC's and Samsung's optimisations favour one or the other.

But if tests like this highlight a flaw (I am not saying this test has - I have not even bothered watching it) we should acknowledge / accept it, as no device is perfect. To post articles championing one aspect of a device, whilst dismissing evidence of an area the device isn't so hot in does come across as a double standard.

That all being said and playing devils advocate - I am still more concerned personally about whether I should have gone black instead of blue :p

You hit the nail on the head; it's apple to oranges. We all know apple has and continues to do remarkably well in optimization. Android, as of now, doesn't compare. So, instead of iPhone vs Note 7, it should be android device vs android device. Just to have a fair assessment.

I personally pay no attention to those types of videos but I know my iPhone is great and would probably outperform my Note 7 in some areas.

^^that's me drinking the kool-aid, Sgt

Quick update on my Note 7. Remember I reported some lag and slowness? More than I have ever had on Android.Well i did a factory reset through settings on the phone and it bootlooped. Went into recovery to do a factory reset and still the same bootloop.
I have a defective device :-(
I will go to TMO tomorrow to get a replacement. Maybe I will get the blue this time.

Damn, that blows! Hope you get a replacement soon!!!

I got both, the black onyx and blue coral, and while the blue one looks really attractive...I'm favoring that all black one more and more with use.

Maybe, I'll post some pics of both, side by side.

Yeah, it's weird what the do to the systems sometimes. On my S7 I can't sort my settings into a long list, I have to keep that pages view instead, while t-mobile kept that option in. But on AT&T I can turn off the back light of the back and multitasking buttons, no such option on the t-mobile variant.

I have the TMO variants, and use this app ' Galaxy Button Lights ' to completely disable them. Bothers the hell outta me, esp at night!

Works great, and is free!

Okay so im using chomp SMS... seems pretty good so far. Anyone know why though I dont get the notification number on the icon when using Nova Launcher?

Like when I have a text sitting there it would show a little 1 in the corner of the app icon but now its not

Working here, but with the stock messages app. I'm assuming you have Nova Prime, with the Tesla Count badges installed ?

If it's true that the iPhone 7 Plus will have 3gb of RAM, that along with the new A10 chip, the gap will widen further on speed. I don't even know why an iPhone would need 3gb of RAM, quite honestly.

The note 7/S7 edge is plenty fast. Yes Apple might stick another GB of ram in the iPhone 7 plus and may perform even better in Bench marks but in real life usage it's not going to stop the note 7 being a good phone. It's still fast enough.

I've wondered the same thing and wondered why the 3GB of ram is needed for the increase. Are Apple planning to add something to the phone that will suddenly mean it's needed? That's the question.

Multitasking?

On the Apple insider podcast a few weeks ago they speculated that the extra ram is for the dual lens camera.

I use galaxy button light as well; makes the black onyx look stealthy.

The one small bug I noticed with the app is, I have them set to off but when I wake the device, they flickr.

Given they only went 2gb with the iPad Pro 9.7 after all the rumour-mill were convinced it was 4gb - I honestly suspect and expect the iPhone 7 &7+ will be 2gb. And whatever they do, people will bitch and moan about it ... ;)

Strange...I just checked my Note 5, and both Note 7s and no flickr on wake... I'd try a re-install, maybe ?

My guess would be increased photo processing features to take advantage of a new camera component.

Im taking the quote at hecause some of you are not very clear on who you are supporting lol. But I will at least leave my thoughts on the video.

I switched from an iPhone 6S Plus to a Note 7. Let me mention, I have literally had every single iPhone every year for the last 8-9 years.

Well my Note 7 runs much better than my 6s plus ever did. My iPhone 6s plus was a piece of ****. Its actually why I decided to switch to samsung for a year until the iPhone 8 comes out.

Was my 6s plus defective? Maybe. But that doesnt change the user experience that I had personally. So in my case, and Im sure I am not the only one, then that video would look like ******** to me because I used the 6s plus for a year and now have a note 7

I will also add this: I love Apple still. iOS is ****in awesome, and everything is nicely streamlined. But the 6s plus was such a huge disappointment for me.
