With the screen being this broken, perhaps doing the replacement yourself is an option? It does seem a bit time-consuming but not too difficult to do.

With the screen being this broken, perhaps doing the replacement yourself is an option? It does seem a bit time-consuming but not too difficult to do.
It was on a table top and I knocked it off and it fell face down on concrete. Probably around 4ft high. First time I ever had a screen break.

Also make sure folks texting you are actually sending messages to your telephone number and not the email account that iMessage is also associated with.
Are you using Tesla unread ?
If no - you should.
If so - Enable notifications for it in Tesla unread settings. If you can't see the specific app in its advanced settings enable notification watching, and also enable notification access in device settings.

Me too! All of my Note 7's are doing this with my iPhone 6+'s. Maddening and how do we get this resolved?
Absolutely no clue. I had a lot of very useless pictures on my phone from my previous position at work, so I manually went through them and just saved the pics I wanted. I guess I will go through and transfer contacts manually as well..... seems ridiculous though.

Ah, I keep forgetting how far US carriers go to screw their customers. However, it's quite strange if the unlocked SE didn't come with one. I'll have to check my boxes when I get back home.
The reason it isn't working is you likely are using the free Nova. You need to have Nova Prime installed to unlock all the features including unread count.

Personally i prefer action launcher 3, but Nova is excellent.
I prefer AL3 as it can colour co-ordinate to your wallpaper and you can opt to have widgets hidden, accessible via a swipe up from application icon.
However still no unread count ticker.
Can I expect some lag when first using the device? Isn't it writing and placing all the files or something like that?
The lag/slowdown/stutter usually happens when your apps are downloading from the Google play store. After all your apps are downloaded things will run smoothly.
Only during the Initial installing of apps (including system apps and services being updated) and setting up accounts; then yes you can often expect a bit of lag around the UI, but as soon as you have finished the initial install of your apps and accounts there should be none ..... If you are experiencing lag or choppiness after you have done your initial install and just utilising the device in a normal manner, then something is very wrong in a flagship 2016 device.
Also, I'm coming from iOS, are there any calendar and clock icons that move/ change like they do on iOS? A minor detail but I like it

It's very hit or miss everytime i switch phones. Some people will be able to message me just fine and some I won't get at all. I always ask people to delete our conversation and start new.
So update on my case situation. I hope me buying all these cases and sharing will help steer people in the right direction.
Anyway. At best buy I tried the speck candy shell grip, the tech 21 and the speck candy shell clear. Best looking goes to the tech 21. Best feeling goes to the candy shell clear. Best fit and finish and security when holding goes to the candy shell grip. It also looks great now that they made the entire thing blacked out. Just like the note.
Buttons on the tech 21 were terrible. As usual. They always miss this point. On the speck cases buttons are fantastic. All 3 cases are drop rated and none were lose on the sides like the Spigen rugged armor and Incipio ngp advanced.
I can confirm that the grip works great with wireless charging. It fits nice and snug, gives me a more than confident hold and it seems sturdy enough to handle drops. Winner winner here.
Two cons that I can think of. It can grip pockets sometimes and it's very pricey. $40.
Edit- getting the s pen out was awful on the tech 21. Speck cases. Great.

The short answer. No one knows. I had a phone number get stuck in iMessage pergatory. Ended up switching numbers. Apple blamed the carrier. The carrier blamed apple. Even though I did everything right to remove my phone number from iMessage, it still got stuck. Hopefully yours will be cleared out soon. Have you tried this website too? Put in your number to hopefully force it to remove from iMessage.
