Probably some carrier mandatory requirement.Any reason why they do it? I've had a couple of Samsung phones before the S7 but not something I ever noticed lol.

Rang three.ie to change from Blue to Black and they said in order to do so I would have to cancel my order, get refunded and replace the order ... Ridiculous
I also asked them to check that I was getting the VR as it doesn't say aything about it on my order receipt. They basically just read me the terms and conditions but couldn't answer whether I had one allocated, despite at the time of the pre-order the guy taking the order was able to tell me there was 34 left (out of 100) and that I would get one.
I'm having doubts over whether one will turn up with the order and now that I want black, I'm thinking it may just be safer to cancel the order completely and buy directly from Amazon.
It'll cost me a little extra €30 more from Amazon but will be unlocked from the get go and if I'm not going to be guaranteed the gear VR for sticking with three then losing the VR with Amazon order makes little difference.
Someone is thinking at least.Jeez XDA just posted a scathing review of the Note.
Naah, they were probably hired by Apple too.Someone is thinking at least.
Could be. I would think anything is possible.Naah, they were probably hired by Apple too.
They had 4 units with 4 different peopleMaybe they have a faulty unit? As those kind of issues are not normal for most people who seem to have the phone. Will judge for myself in a weeks time
InterestingThey had 4 units with 4 different people
Interesting
It does seem very strange why this is happening and to this extent
Could be. I would think anything is possible.

I wrote that nothing has changed. Big numbers that do not translate to anything substantial in real life.
These reviews can be telling but there is nothing that beats real world usage from people who buy their phones. Most here seem very happy with the performance and ram management. The answer IMHO is they were trying to meet a launch deadline that was to soon and we're seeing the effects of that. I imagine most of the issues will be fixed as time goes on, but when you're asking as much for a phone as Samsung is for the Note I really don't see ship then fix as good policy.
The Note got beaten by a lot of phones and not all of them new.

I will judge myself on the 30th and base it off my iPhone 6s Plus which is on beta 5...if my note 7 can't perform better than my year old iPhone that is on a buggy software that isn't the final build of software there I will have some concerns. That Said I don't think that will be the case
Performance is a big factor for me in what phone I use it. Least with the iPhone you know you will get great performance.
Why are you so stuck on your real world? Does your version of real world has a different definition of opening apps and doing stuff. Because in my real world it takes time and by time we measure things to tell what is slower and what is faster.
iPhone 6S released almost a year ago is running circles around it.
We have tested the application launch times, both hot and cold, of the Note 7 under the same conditions as our other devices and found it trailing behind not just other Snapdragon 820 phones like the OnePlus 3 and HTC 10, but also the year-old Nexus 6P running on Android’s latest preview. Considering that Samsung packs the cream of today’s processing power with its UFS 2.0 storage, LPDDR4 RAM and the Snapdragon 820, we can begin to entertain the notion that something went wrong with Samsung’s implementation.
By real world I'm talking about use a phone how I would normally use it not done by side by side testing. If the phone performs great in the same way of how my iPhone is used then there is no problem with the performance. Why are you so stuck on your real world? My s6 edge was a laggy mess and was why I got rid of it and moved back to the iPhone. They S7 edge was flawless in performance and why I enjoyed it so much. It's why I have bought the note 7 based on the experience I had with the edge. I just wanted S pen again with a bigger screen.
End of the day the only review that matters is your own. IF the note 7 performs great then people who say it doesn't perform great doesn't really mean anything.
If it lags and doesn't perform to the standards I want I will stick with the iPhone. I honestly can't see that being the case but we will see.
I hate to be a buzz Killington. But your 6S plus running non finished software is going to perform better than the note 7. I think it's just a difference in operating system. I'm coming from a 6S. But the note is so great that I'm willing to overlook the little performance issuesThese reviews can be telling but there is nothing that beats real world usage from people who buy their phones. As long as it performs well I'm not too fussed. I Meant in the sense of the note 7 lagging and not being as good in performance. That's all that matters. If my 6s plus is abit faster? Not bothered by that. Just want my note to be smooth like my S7 edge was and I'm sure it will be.I hate to be a buzz Killington. The s7 edge was just fine performance wise with no lag. The note 7 should be no different. If the iPhone is slightly faster than the note 7 that is hardly a deal breaker.Well that's a very nice rationalisation, but the lag is real and performance is not as it should be for a price tag it has. I can feel it and for anyone having an iPhone it is subpar at best. There is no excuse to be made here.

Oh ok. Well then for the most part you'll be good if you have my experience. I'm a stickler for performance and I'm very happy. As long as it performs well I'm not too fussed. I take it back. I love wireless charging. Just had my daughter in one hand and was able to set my phone down on the charger with the other hand and keep going. Now I'm back to 100%. Would have been losing more battery life with only wired charging.
