So many users on xda have scratches on their phones (mostly on the back) even when using cases. And here nobody has a single scratch?

Is gorilla glass 5 a faulty product? Scratched phones!

So many users? The first several pics were demo phones. Only one user shown scratches on an actual purchased phone. The rest of the thread is just users talking about it. I truly don't know if the Note 7 is very easily scratch prone or not, I surely don't have a scratches on mine. Exaggeration much?

Man im really loving this device, im still going through the paces with the battery but everything else is smooth. I tried to remain on TouchWiz but I always have to revert back to Nova Launcher, it just runs so smooth. I try to run as many stock applications as possible but I also made the switch to Google Keyboard and using Hangouts as my SMS platform and I am more than impressed.

Usually by now within a new few days I would be wanting to run back to my iPhone but right now I am enjoying this device and haven't really thought twice. my 6S Plus might be going on Swappa this week!.

But you could also argue that their dominance in the Android space would make it much easier for them to deal with carrier BS.

Not really, if they get pissy carriers can simply incentivise other devices and push them more in stores. There are a multitude of androids waiting in the wings wishing for that no doubt, apple on the other hand have the advantage in that there is only one iOS device supplier and iOS devices sell carrier contracts. Essentially the goal posts have already been laid out on this one and it seems neither Samsung or Carriers are in a rush to change that.

For those of you on Verizon and want to get Samsung Cloud back (might also work with AT&T but I only have a V phone) here is something I got off of XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-note-7/how-to/how-to-samsung-cloud-t3445627 Confirm it works PERFECTLY and I have Samsung Cloud back.

It seems that Verizon is trying to be sneaky and just hide Samsung Cloud to push you towards them. But it's actually their they just hid the icon.
If you use an app like quickshortcutmaker and you look for Samsung Backup and Restore (com.samsung.android.scloud)
You can create a short cut for it and boom. You can now access Samsung Cloud and get your free 15gb.
Yeah I found out by accident that I do apparently have Samsung cloud activated even being on AT&T, but am too stupid to know it. My entire short photo gallery just synced and backed up to it.

I'm enjoying it as well.

I'm trying to run as many stock apps as possible too, but I too have switched to Google Keyboard... I am keeping the SMS app from Samsung, I'm just waiting on Google Allo... then I'll give that a good run. I don't have a iPhone to run back too, since I already sold my 6S Plus... I'm waiting to see what Apple announce with the upcoming iPhone.

But as of now... Galaxy Note 7 has been refreshing.

Same man, the screen alone and design when holding the device is what I love. I picked up my iPhone yesterday and it felt like a ancient device lol. I will also see what the new iPhone is working with but from the leaks it doesn't look like anything special and if anything I might pick it up and put it on my second line. We will see.

Yeah, I feel the same way about the screen and design... I feel as though Apple should have had this design a long time ago... The fact it has "Samsung" front in center just throws me off.. lol

I get the same thing when I pick up an iPhone, that feeling that you are holding something ancient with old technology. It becomes worse when you turn it on and are greeted by pages upon pages of similar looking icons.

I was also fondling my N7 last night and really have to give it to Samsung for making the black model really nice. Of course its marred by the huge Samsung logo on the front, but otherwise it's just completely stealth. No fake/plastic chrome, nothing trying to make it look like something its not. With the AOD it just looks fantastic and futuristic, while being very stealth and understated.

Anyone getting very bad lag scrolling in the app drawer? I have Nova launcher so maybe the culprit is Nova. When I scroll up or down it's very noticeable lag, and also if I let it sit it will force jump me back to the top of the list.

Nova shouldn't do that unless it's buggy. Strange one.

Hmm, was just the one time and package disabler pro was updating my license so maybe it had something to do with it. Now it's working fine. But now I notice scrolling in Package Disabler pro is very bad, but then again there are a ton of entries, but wow it's bad.

I'm hesitant on using Package Disabler Pro... is it worth it?

As of now I been just disabling apps thru the App Drawer in TouchWiz..

I would absolutely say it's worth it just don't disable things without knowing what they are doing, i.e. not activating expert mode without caution.

Samsung has the tendency to include a lot of bloatware so it's only natural to delete this stuff. If you have any questions let me know, I have that tool installed for my N4

This is where Google needs to step in somehow. I know Android is open source, but Google still has power in its packages which are included on the phone. I bought the phone and should be able to load what I want on it, similar to my windows PC where I should be able to load whatever OS I want to. Certainly Samsung retains the right to void my warranty, although even that may be suspect in the US with the MM act.

We'll see how this year pans out, especially with the FCC investigating the slow security updates from the carriers. If anything Samsung needs to ensure any updates it has are included with those security updates.

Agree with MRU, this shouldn't be Nova. The app drawer is buttery smooth on my Nexus 6.

It's worth it, but YMMV. Personally I don't feel the need to debloat all the carrier stuff, some things are actually pretty decent. If an app isn't used it shouldn't cause anything to slow down I would think. But the main reason I paid for it was to disable Samsung VR so I could use non Samsung VR apps.

Mine so far only lags inside of Pokemon Go, the iPhone SE does, too, though, to a slightly lesser extent. It's a horrible app but I'm playing along with the family. What steps have you taken to troubleshoot? Could it be a rogue app? So far other than the wallpaper app my husband loaded on for me and Pokemon Go I am only using apps from well known name brand developers. Just got Dropbox, 1Password, Google Play Music was put on last night along with Apple Music.

Edit to add: I'm not disabling any stock or AT&T or Samsung Apps yet. I stuck them off in folders and periodically clear ones I definitely don't use like Direct TV remote from using RAM with the RAM management feature. Even if people say that feature is crap it's all I've got for now. Anyway the bloat apps I don't want to use for now are tucked out of my way the way I do on iOS. That way I won't inadvertently make a newbie blunder of getting rid of something I might need.

I still do not have my contacts brought over from my iPhones yet. Gonna work on that after lunch. Or after we go to the beach. :D

You really don't have much luck with phones lol

Amount of lag and performance issues on the note 7 is giving it unwanted press right now.

question for those of you who own the Note 7. What does the lock screen look like while playing music (with or without AOD enabled)? just curious. I know Samsung phones in the past didn't utilize the full screen album art lock screen like stock Android implements (I like stock Android's implementation better than past Samsung phones). Curious how they've refined it and how it may look with AOD. Thanks in advance!

I used that app to find the Samsung Backup App ( assume thats the cloud ) but I see options to back up apps, etc but nothing says pictures, am I missing it?

Hoe does the contact and call log and calling screen look. Is it the same as note 5?
A little different, but mostly the same. Keep in mind, this is with the free material design theme installed.

It's just a small card, but I dont think stock android has used the full screen album art since jelly bean.
