Not sure... I pre-ordered on Samsungs main site and am getting the Gear VR bonus too so was in that first batch for early delivery, but checking the tracker it still hasn't processed or anything... Don't think it's coming tomorrow!!!!

All the items are now 'in stock' on the order page though.

Ahh interesting.
Although normally with my experience of express deliveries, you get all the notifications on the day, so it may be that you wake up tomorrow and find that it's out for delivery.

I hope you get it tomorrow, I'd love to hear some thoughts! Plus us UK'ers need some excitement! ;)

I've been checking accessories out this evening.
Think I am gonna pick up a memory card, screen protector and a clear official case. Not into these folding cases at all, but like the idea of protecting this device just because of all I've read and how shiny it is! :p

Good luck tomorrow let us know if it comes! :)

Hmm, I got approved for the memory card but no shipment info yet, that was a week ago. I never got an approval email for the fit gear I got on the 2nd phone. Anyone elses taking this long? Should I be worried?

No problem.

I don't mean to drag iPhone into this but what do you do when something like this happens after your return period? I know what I would do with an iPhone. Not so sure about a Samsung.
Based on my past dealings with Samsung CS, I pray to never have to go thru it again!

Oh yeah for sure. But what about after 14 days? If my Note breaks what do I do? Ship it to Samsung and go without a phone for weeks?

Huge issue and one that also factored into my Note 7 return.

I can make an appt at Apple online and be out the door with a loaner in minutes if I have an issue.

Having a physical store contact is a huge deal.

Question: If I do an exchange, what happens to my Samsung promotion claim? Would I still be able to receive it?
[doublepost=1472502797][/doublepost]

I'm under my 14 days so I believe I can exchange it at the store.

If you got your 'submission has been approved' email, a device exchange wouldn't matter.

Yeah I get that benefit at my carrier. I also have squaretrade just in case it's my fault. I dealt with Samsung support a couple of times and swore never to do so again.

Nah. My card has been sitting with Fedex for almost 10 days now...it'll get here eventually

Sammy is pretty reliable with honoring and delivering on it's promos.

One thing I really like with TMobile is JOD ( jump on demand )

I almost never keep a device for more than a year, and don't have the patience or time to deal with selling it on somewhere like Craigslist etc..

Also, I can upgrade 3x a year without any restrictions so works really well for me. If I don't like a particular device I can walk in anytime after getting it and change w/o any restocking fee or penalty.

I also don't pay any down payment and taxes upfront

Downside is I'm renting vs owning, but that's alright with me.

I was tempted by this, but then I was told you have to put in a deposit that you don't get back with each phone. It was substantial, I believe the Note 7 was $100 or so, although the rep said they were waiving the deposit on the Note 7 for a little while. Plus you still have to pay the tax on the full price of the phone. So $150 plus just to change phones, I'm not sure I'm down with that.

That downpayment and tax upfront is for people who do not have JOD. I paid $0 upfront, and it's $32.xx per month for me interest free for 18 months.

Also, that deposit or downpayment is applied towards the device.

I just joined JOD coming from the original Jump. Got tired of having to pay a certain amount before I could switch. So now I can keep upgrading every six months or sooner without worrying about is the upgrade worth it. And now I can take the phone back in store instead of sending it back.

Yeah, I had the original JUMP too and the store rep kept pushing me to keep that over JOD.

But, JOD works much better for my use case and obscene new device-o-mania!!

Technically it's a lease, but potentially lease-to-own since all of your payments can go towards eventual purchase of the device if you so choose.

Yeah, in my younger days I would meticulously take care of my devices and sell them on Craigslist or Swappa and do quite well. JOD is kind of the "easy" button if you don't want to go through all of that.

2 things.

1. T mobile rep told me yesterday that JOD was being phased out and new customers could no longer get it.

2. Performance today hasn't been great. I haven't done anything differently so I'm surprised

That is bad news..... The only reason I Left Verizon was for T-Mobile's JoD. If they get rid of that I might have to go back to VZW because they have better coverage.

You know you get different answers depending on the day of the week and the person that you get. But that is what I was told. Maybe you can still try to get it.

I had the same problem with the S7 Edge where Android OS and Android System were out of control and no fixes were available.
Really? When did it start happening? It wasn't doing this last week, just started today.

Also, why is there "android os", "android system", and "com.android.systemui"? Aren't those all the same thing?

The rep I spoke with mentioned some other plan that was would be unavailable next year for upgrading, reading other comments now it sounds like they are phasing JOD out. I will assume he was talking about the regular EIP plans. The JOD does sound nice, hopefully they keep it.

Still 'remaining to be shipped' :(

I won't be able to get it until Friday evening anyway but I hope it's before then otherwise won't have it for another week!!! :(

I got the s view case since it works well with the always on display and I can use it as a stand when on trains and stuff!

Oh well turns out that I will be getting a delivery today... just had a text from Vodafone to say it's on its way coming between 12:45 and 1:45...

2 problems...

1. I don't know which order they're referring to as vodafone's order trackers for my new line (which I was told was cancelled) is still showing active and the upgrade is just showing as 'order received'. So God knows!

2. No one is in! Oops haha.

Ah well. @MRU - any movement on your Vodafone order?!

Well I wasn't being completely serious, and I'm glad sms works for you. I don't always give out my number out to text someone. So I like that about BBM or Messenger. And for me THE BIGGEST advantage is being able to message when I don't have signal because I'd still have WiFi in those places. This is totally the case at work.

You DO realize that SMS works via wifi, right? I work inside a hospital and have to hook up to their wifi to get SMS messages.

So today I noticed my battery running down fairly quickly. I checked my battery statistics and "android os" was at the top. Does anyone know what this is? It also seems to have sent out a ton of data today.

The optimization also mentioned antutu and put that app to sleep, but I didn't see it in the battery Usage statistics.

That's the cover name for the new NSA app that got installed on your phone prior.

On my DPD tracking I've got a scan at 6:05 and one at 7:25 both saying the same thing. That it has arrived at the depot. Is this normal?
