Apparently my sister is in (it's being delivered to my mum's as I haven't changed my address yet!).
So that's good.

Still no idea which one they're delivering - guess I'll see when I get home.
If it's the new connection I'll cry coz I will have to just return it unopened. What kind of cruelty would that be?!

You DO realize that SMS works via wifi, right? I work inside a hospital and have to hook up to their wifi to get SMS messages.
[doublepost=1472542086][/doublepost]

That's the cover name for the new NSA app that got installed on your phone prior.

Do you have Tmobile or do you have wificalling? Typically sms does need a mobile connection of some kind. I know Tmobile though does allow sms over wifi though

Not heard a thing .... Was supposed to arrive three days early - but it wouldn't surprise me if it was early next week knowing how vodafone operate. I got my Samsung official screen protectors though .. woop.

o_O
Vodafone really do baffle me.

I was told it would definitely not be Tuesday but low and behold...
The Vodafone order tracker just shows both orders as processing still, so God knows which one is coming and God knows if the new line was cancelled. Worst system ever.

My mate from work (who has a Tuesday off) just text me saying 'Wtf, thought it was 3rd Sept?' as he's had an email from Voda with notification of delivery today too.
Naturally he's very pleased :D but he is currently an iPhone user and a bit of techophobe (even a word?!) so I can imagine him hating Android and cursing me all day tomorrow! Hah.

Any of you guys who know a thing or two about photography have any thoughts on the Samsung Lense Cover?

http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Samsung-Galaxy-S7-Lens-Cover-Review_id4217

(The two non-YT links are for the S7 version but it seems in effect to be identical to the N7 version.)

Maybe it's just my lust for gadgets, but I'm a bit intrigued by this thing tbh. I'm planning to get a simple, black or transparent N7 cover anyway and I might as well use this one with the lenses off for daily use. And the lenses seem simple enough to carry around in that one little case. Ergo, this would then be the camera I actually have on me, rather than the DSLR which I'd be likely to leave at home.

The question is - do those little lenses provide enough effect to be worth the price + fiddling with? The 2x zoom is what I'm most interested in. My 6 Plus can handle most of my photography needs quite impressively but the one thing I constantly find myself missing is just a bit of optical zoom. Having this little lense to whip up and attach might solve that problem. I don't need a super ultra CIA zoom in on one single strand of hair in a suspect's ear kind of zoom, I just want to be able to send cute pics of the bunny rabbits in my mum's garden to my gf without having to enlarge, crop and curse at the shoddy quality. Well not really exactly that only, but you catch my drift :D

So yeah, am I being dumb, or could this thing actually be useful? The price seems to be ca €120 where I am. Let's say we deduct €20 for a case I would have bought anyway, and I'd be paying the 100 for two lenses. Worth it?

Apparently CW never confirmed that Note 7 preorders would be available 3 days early.

However, I've received an email saying they will, I tweeted their Twitter account and spoke to one of their salesman in store. All confirmed early release for preorders.

Naturally I went to pick my preorder up today to be told that CW never said anything about early release. Slightly annoying.

I too, would also love to know if these are good.

I've watched some YouTube vids for the S7 version and it's only really the zoom lens that I'm interested in as I don't think the wide lens would ever be of much benefit.

They're pretty pricey though, so not sure if it's something I' invest in unless I knew I' be getting great results.

Honestly ... probably not.

It's here and I'm at work... URGH.

Think tomorrow in CPW I will get my accesories sorted whilst they're 3 for 2.
We have a Samsung wireless charger but its not fast charge. But I can't say I'm too fussed as it's only the charger I will use of an evening to charge overnight, so fast charge isn't really a must.

My mate got his, he said he's in love, but he hasn't turned it on yet. Apparently he's got to go out so will mess about with it later.

The VR then - is it any good?
I know it's worth like £90-100 but I can't really see me making much use of it. Never experienced it before so be interesting to try it out but wondered what peoples thoughts of it were.

VR is alright for messing with. Novelty period wore off quick for me. As a freebie it's worth messing, wouldn't have paid £90 for the privilege though.

I thought as much.
Might just sell it on straight away and claim some funds back. :)
[doublepost=1472568997][/doublepost]Urgh, VODAFONE! :mad:

So my sister just text me.
"Have you ordered 2 phones or something?"
Me: "No but kind of... Why?"
"You've had 2 identical parcels delivered..."

o_O

Honestly. Vodafone just continue to delight.
I must have asked about 4 times when I called them on Friday if the new connection order was cancelled and each time I was told yes.

Whilst returning it isn't really much of a big deal, Vodafone are easily the worst company for customer 'servicing' I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
I almost wish I didn't get corporate perks with them so I was forced to move somewhere else and pay more.

Sorry guys an gals, rant over!

So after the disappointment of being told I don't get mine today in CW I got a call whilst on the way to pick the wee man up from school

Nipped up and collected it on way to his football training and really liking it so far. He loves the S Pen. Not opened my free VR gear yet but hopefully this evening.

There was a comprehensive review and discussion on XDA about these lenses for the S7 Edge. It's worth a read if you are interested in them. The price was what mainly put me off, I just don't see myself using them enough to justify the cost.

There's also the additional loss in edge sharpness due to the lenses and quality issues pertaining to the screw on mechanism which was the final nail on the coffin so to speak.

If I'm not mistaken, SMS will only work on wifi if you have wifi calling enabled.
If that’s true, then I can turn off cell data with wifi calling on and save a little battery too. Unless there’s something else that needs cell data.

Oh well turns out that I will be getting a delivery today... just had a text from Vodafone to say it's on its way coming between 12:45 and 1:45...

2 problems...

1. I don't know which order they're referring to as vodafone's order trackers for my new line (which I was told was cancelled) is still showing active and the upgrade is just showing as 'order received'. So God knows!

2. No one is in! Oops haha.

Ah well. @MRU - any movement on your Vodafone order?!

Did you get it?

Samsung shipped mine today to arrive tomorrow. I emailed and they said they had issues with logistics and orders were sent late!!!

Not good maybe they'll throw in something because they said I would get it 3 days early!

No one is home tomorrow too!! Oh well. Might have to pick it up Saturday... Wanted to post in my iPhone saturdau for recycling!

Yeah it came!

Been playing around with it all night. I like the device, but I need to start using it in every day life before I make a decision.

Really really like the blue. Glad I went with that.
I'm struggling with the back and multi button - annoying that the light doesn't stay on.

Good to know you're getting yours, although not good they didn't get it to you when they should have. Definitely try and get a freebie!

About to try VR for the first time.

I believe there's a setting in the menu to keep the lights on, else, there's an app in the Play Store that should work

Is anybody offering deals along with the Note 7 if i purchase at full price? saw that att had one for free tablet and gear s2 but thats only through the next program

Anybody know if the Samsung keyboard allows you to double tap the space par for a full stop / period?

Cannot find the option for the life of me and it's bugging the hell out of me.

Save the aggrevation and use the Google keyboard...my favorite by far. It was already the best, IMO but the newest functionality (swipe navigation along space bar and highlight/delete by swiping from the delete key) made it that much better.

Bring up the keyboard hold down the button next to the sym key then tap the settings gear. There you should see the option.

How was VR? It's one of the reasons I wanted the Samsung!! I love vr but can't afford the PC side of it yet!

I am glad you like blue, I ordered black but I don't think I will have regrets. Going from a rose gold iPhone so would like the ninja stealth look lol
