I still think the Note 7 design looks a heck of a lot more modern and trim then the "all new" iPhone 7.

Agreed! That's why I'm staying put. Although, that camera on the 7 Plus is gonna be the best out. I enjoy the feature set that the Note7 has... But I already know that the next iPhone will be mine.

Does anyone in the UK get any extra perks with the exchange? I got a call today and it's quite a faff to change the phone. They only do straight boxed swaps and the UK mail delivery people can only deliver weekdays which is impossible for me.

I asked can it misdelivery then pick it up at the depot the person initially said no but then checked and it was yes. So I now have to go quite out of my way to get it.

Also a bit annoying as I originally was due the phone on the 30 but it was shipped late even though my pre order should have gotten me 3 days early delivery!

Sorry if it seems petty lol I am happy to swap the phone of course. Does anyone know if I can backup and restore to new phone like with iOS?

Rest easy Note 7 owners because even after today you still own the most beautiful phablet ever designed.
Beauty is subjective. Way too much subjective opinion is blurted out on this fora as definitive fact.

I'm sure there will be plenty of people who prefer designs of the iPhone or any other phone (Moto Z, LG V20 etc ... ) Their subjective opinion would be just as equally valid as your subjective assertion.

Your right it is subjective, but still designing a phone so compact with such a large display while offering a headphone jack, on-board stylus and expandable memory while still being ultra stylish is pretty amazing.

All I'm saying in Samsung is getting beat up over the batteries, but the Note really is an engineering masterpiece.

Samsung should be getting beat up about the batteries, they tried to reduce costs and increase profit margins by designing them essentially in house and failed miserably.

The Note 7 is a gorgeous device and is in my opinion one of the best looking (I think the S7e is equally gorgeous), but if someone preferred another device aesthetically then their opinion is just as valid as mine.

No device is perfect and all have some compromises. The iPhone's bezels are polarising, the Samsung edge devices are frankly a bit of a PITA when it comes to screen protectors and GG5 has made a screen protector likely more of a necessity than ever before.

For me the Note 7 biggest advantage more than anything else is price, as expensive as it, it is €200 cheaper than the iPhone 7 Plus 128gb here and that's a massive difference.

I have no intention of getting either the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus.

I have also been somewhat scared and put off the Note 7 but there is still more chance of me getting that than either of the new iPhone's.

What's holding you back right now? Seems like a nice upgrade especially camera and screen and might bring a little more parity to some of the Note 7 features. Just not impressed overall or waiting till next year?

And number of factors

The 6S CPU & GPU is still competing more than favourably with 2016 android flagships. The ram likewise.

Screen resolution has remained same.

I have no issues with touch ID and I use the headphone jack daily.

Whilst OIS is nice, I don't miss it from my 6S+ in actual use. My photos are much the same and I don't shoot in lowlight anyway.

So yeah, just can't see any real compelling reason to get the 7, especially as we will be getting ios 10 very soon.

Oh battery improvements are great, but honestly the 6S lasts me through the day so what difference does it make then having good an extra 15-20% left on battery when it goes on charge at night make to me ?

So I guess 7th September 2016 will always be the day Water Resistance became an Innovation by a particular group of fanboys
Yep it will be funny now how what was a Android gimmick now becomes an Apple feature.

Weren't you saying you weren't gonna get the note 7 too? Lol. I can see though if you use the hp jack every day why'd it'd be a nuisance though.

But Apple now sells the 5 fastest phones on the market. No explosions needed.

Fastest at opening and closing apps over and over again.
It's not really something most people really do.
It might look impressive in a sped up YouTube clip but it's not really something to go fist pumping about is it? But by all means, pat yourself on the back if that's your thing....

Other then the bezels, the jet black iPhone looks awesome, really love that color.
Agreed, best looking iphone in a while.
Black is the new rose gold...

MRU, come on... you know you will get one!

It's the price to be frank. Even with upgrading price your looking at €600-700 up front here with Vodafone on my plan.

I can't justify essentially the full price of another device on a subsidised one and I simply refuse to pay €1k for a phone.

For what I get extra over the 6S - it's not enough for me.

Hi. No, fastest at any single task where speed matters.

Not really. Just opening apps on YouTube vids.

Fastest at VR? Fastest sharing files via NFC? Fastest at downloading directly from browser to a fully accessible file system? Fastest at note taking? Fastest at charging, wired or wireless..

See speed matters to me in those categories...

I've never felt the need to load temple run over and over again.

But hey, pats on the back and all that. .

Can someone say what the difference is between bokeh and selective focus which has been available on android phones for a while now? Is the dual lens system likely to provide better blur?

It will be interesting to see if the reviewers call Apple out for their ridiculous prices as they did for what must now be seen as moderate pricing on the note 7.

Would you not consider selling one of your other devices to facilitate the purchase? That's one of the reasons I'm considering the 7 Plus, the S7E and S6 are going to continue plummeting in price but if I sell them now, I can switch to a 7 Plus and not really spend anything and also know that in a year should I decide to sell, I won't lose that much in resale value.

Also, for what's it's worth, I've noticed an even steeper decline in S7E resale recently and I'm attributing it to the Note 7 recall. Recently a person asked me if I was worried about my S7E exploding since its from the same company as the recalled device and by their logic this device is basically at the same risk as the Note 7. Of course we know this is not true but from there perspective as a general consumer who easily influenced by the media, I can somewhat see where there thinking is coming from.

Why so defensive? I have no dog in this fight. I'm just stating the facts: it doesn't matter what your or mine favorite devices are, Apple sells the 5 fastest phones on the market.

Stating features like that, that might only matter to a tiny minority, in order to defend your potential purchase of a potentially dangerous device, is just silly. The iPhone is faster from browsing the web, to playing games, to editing video, etc.

I see the 7 being 649 like last year. The 7 plus looks like it went up 20 to 769. A 128gb 7 plus is 869. I believe a note 7 64gb is 849. I understand the sd card slot though. I think the market will determine whether it's too pricey. But I don't see a big difference for now. Generally customers equate the apple prices as getting a good level of support as well.

@MacBAir

The facts are the iPhone is faster at opening and closing app's and synthetic benchmark's.
Awesome.

I don't edit video on a phone, Web browsing is faster? Doesn't surprise me as I use a fully fledged browser which allows me to download into a file system.

Those niche things I mentioned are relevant to this thread.
Apple selling the 5 fastest phone is not relevant to this thread.

The Note 7, the topic of discussion of this particular thread, does a lot more and obviously does those things faster because the iPhone can't do certain things.

I'm not being defensive, a little sarcastic maybe, but defensive would infer that a small electronic device somehow threatens my ego. Just not true at all...

Now why were we having this discussion in the Note 7 thread in the first place, go back and have a look.
I'm not calling you a troll but you were after a reaction.
