Well I don't know about everybody else, but I'm seriously impressed. First of all, it looks absolutely AMAZING. Solid, sleek and ergonomic. Makes my S6 Edge+, which I bought last year for the same reason, look like a brick. And second of all, it focuses on the things which, in my opinion, really matter. Software, iris scanner and battery are three HUGE upgrades in my opinion. Add on to that waterproofing, USB-C and faster speeds, and you really can't go wrong with this phone.

And the biggest upgrade of all, IT'S FINALLY AVAILABLE IN THE UK! You really took your time Samsung. The last Note that came to the UK was 3 numbers ago.

Seriously, I really want to get this phone. It's really tempting. But my S6 Edge+ is serving me very well, and the price will probably be too steep.

Color me unimpressed. Big feeling of meh.

Sure the Note 7 is an upgrade over the Note 5, that's easy with the small battery and no SD card on the Note 5. But other than that, I'm not all that impressed with the Note 7. it ships with the old and soon to be outdated Android Marshmallow, with Android N officially releasing before the Note 7 hits retail stores, meaning you'll be waiting until Spring 2017 until the Note 7 gets N.

And it's still Touchwiz, yeah yeah I know, Touchwiz has been improved. But it's still a laggy slowdown after 6+ months of use. My Wife has the Note 5, and it's almost one year old, and it's pretty laggy now, whereas compared to when she first got it, was warp speed fast, smooth as butter, but over time it starts to get choppy, like those old Windows 95 PC's.

My Wife also had the Galaxy S6, same thing happened, at first was a super fast and smooth phone, but many months later, a different story.

Now my Nexus 6P, I've had a while now, it still feels snappy fast, and smooth as butter, no different than the first day I got it. And I will get Android N right away this month.

To me the only smartphones to buy, are the iPhone Plus version, or the premium Nexus phone.

Thank you for posting this. I was having note 7 envy. Thanks for bringing me back to reality. Some people are less inclined to care about lag but not me. I disagree on the premium Nexus. Only because last year it was really big. I'm currently in need of a one handed device. So the smaller Nexus is better for my use. Amen to stock Android.

Edit: damn that note 7 is sexy lol

Oh wow, it's looking seriously enticing. IP68, great camera, decent storage, wireless charging and whatnot. If it had also dual SIM, I wouldn't hesitate for a second as such a package would solve multiple problems for me.

Unlocked mobiles.com are giving a price of £674 for the note 7 on their website. You can buy now to be inline for pre order on the 2nd of September.

Black and blue are the only options available. No silver :(

Will you get another colour if you can't get silver?

I swear Samsung are the only OEM still offering wireless charging
Madness more don't

It's a damn pain having to switch the light on to find my iPhone dock where with my edge just pop it on the wireless charging stand and Iam good to go. Also the time it takes to start on the fast charging pad is the same as with the cable on my iPhone.

For all people who are deciding between a s7 edge and note 7, here are the note 7 advantages:

- USB Type C
- Iris Scanner
- 64GB Memory
- S-Pen
- 5.7" Display
- Gorilla Glas 5
- Aluminium Series 8
- Symetrical back and front glas
- Grace UX
- HDR Mode for supported Apps like Amazon Video
I'm going for it. Having looked logically at:
-S7 Edge
-ZTE Axon 7
-OnePlus3

The Note 7 stands out nicely with those features, especially the 64GB mem + MicroSD, as well as the Pen, Iris Scanner, and USB Type-C.

My only gripe is no 6GB RAM, but then again my Note 4 multitasks well with 3GB RAM, so 4GB with the lighter TW can only be better. :)

I still haven't bought a wireless charger for my S6 Edge+. Mostly because I love the speed of wired charging.

Speaking of which, is charging on the Note 7 faster?

Ugh the wait for this is going to kill me. Hopefully it'll arrive a bit more than 3 days early. Moving from the iPhone 6 Plus and apple ecosystem.

Been a while since I have visited Macrumours!

The iPhone 4 was my favourite iPhone I owned and the peak for Apple imo. I actually owned a S4 for a week but had to return it as it was faulty. The 6+ has been good the past 2 years but I'm just bored with Apple spoon feeding us features and specs.
I was most worried about having an iCloud back up alternative and Samsung answered that today with triple the free storage I share between an iPhone, iPad and MacBook

Yeah I was in the exact same boat as you, except owning the S4. My conversion phone was the S3. I still miss the pebble like feel of it in my hand, sigh, so cute, so small. Now I am the happy owner of a Note 4 looking to buy the Note 7.

I will tell you what I tell everyone who switches because they want something different. It IS different. It took me 3-4 months to even start to like the device. To explore and find things that I thought were better etc. So there will be things that you liked better on the iPhone, but take sufficient time to explore all that the Android OS can do for you.

Anyone know when these will be available to fondle in person at BB or carriers? I'm also curious what happened to the rumors of a BOGO promo at Tmobile? I'm surprised Tmobile let ATT beat them with a BOGO offer this time.

Been checking out loads of reviews and maybe are saying no false touches as the edge isn't as curved. Good news if true.

Long-time not talk Macrumor buddies! I was deeply distracted with building my own gaming PC, I highly recommend it. Its a fun experience, and you gain a new appreciation for just how powerful the hardware and software you can buy is, when you build it yourself, and it doesn't have a company logo on it. Ill just say this; The most expensive 4k iMAC is more than twice as much (this includes the case, all the hardware, high end monitor, keyboard, mouse, gaming headset, and nice Logitech webcam), and the iMac isn't even in the same galaxy power wise. Anyway...sorry for the tagent.

Anyway, I pre-ordered two Note 7 Black last night when pre-orders went live. I am really looking forward to this phone, it has everything I have wanted in the Note series.

-Gorgeous, industry leading design and build quality
-Amazing camera (arguably the best)
-Spen and software finally reaching their potential
-64gb of storage (finally)
-Great processor (the 820 is just that, great)
-Water resistance (I work in a biology lab, with fish...)
-you all know the rest, I am done with this list.

Anyway, I also am optimistic about Samsung pass and ever more so about Samsung cloud. If it functions to further improve the Android back-up and restore functionality, bringing it on par with iOS; Ill be one happy camper.

I am overly excited for the gear fit 2, to be honest. I have always wanted a fitness centric smart device, that can accompany me on my runs. I know a running watch is superior, but always have my phone one me so I can listen to my music/podcast, and my phone tracks my runs perfectly fine (expect when I had a 6p, it thought I was an Olympic athlete...it was fun to pretend I guess). I want a fitness centric device that can also receive notifications, control my music, display run progress, etc. I have tried other smart watches, even the gears s2 (nice), but I could never justify the overall cost. But since this is included free....win/win.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. Maybe I just missed you guys?

Got my preorder in for the black color! Remember TMO shipped the S7 edge out almost a week early too. Hopefully they do the same with the Note 7!

It really is a great deal. You get one year of Netflix and a Samsung 256 Sd Card.
I'm already a netflix customer so this saves me money.

Cost of the phone $850

free Netflix $108($9 a month)
256GB SD card $250
adds up to $358

New price of the phone $492

So you are going for the SD card over the gear fit 2?

Nice looking phone with 6 month old internals. And at $850 to boot. LOL. Glad people are happy with it though.

How do you get both? On T-Mobile's site, they just list either 256gb card, 1 yr netflix, or Gear Fit2.
