I did not know some Best Buys already had the Note 7 on display to play with, I am excited about my pre Order.

Need to stop reading this thread. You can easily get swept up in others excitement. Keep telling myself 4 phones at any one time is quite enough .... :)

  • Looking like to get the note 7 I will need to sell my S7 edge and iPhone 6s Plus...would leave me with about 70-90 pounds left over.

Then when the iPhone 7 plus is out I can review whether to get that as well. I do feel though it's time to stick to one device but find it hard to do so as I like both platforms.
How much is the note 7 sim free?

Anywhere between £675 - 749 in the UK I believe depending on where you buy from.

Samsung own site will likely be the upper end too so £749

£749 would mean a euro price of €870-899 ... Most Europe sites are putting it as €899

It's a solid upgrade from the Note 5 and I'm interested. Especially if they've finally solved the false touches that plagued the S6e and S7e.

As well as the aforementioned refinements and upgrades, being in China for a few weeks, I can get the 9300 variant which has the dual-SIM option and no logo on the front. Looks soooooo much better.

Very, very tempting.

Correct. They're are often a rip off. How does warranty work if you buy from the likes of mobilefun, etc
Seller will honor warranty but what usually happens is they become middle men between you and the manufacturer.

Reality is its simpler to just contact Samsung and deal directly, they will take care of your warranty service.

Wow!!!!!! Any idea what bands it has? I'm curious if it would work on any US carriers.

Edit: Looks like this is in Dubai currently? Dang, my brother in law is there a couple of times a month. I'm going to have to look into what bands it has. http://www.ubergizmo.com/2016/08/samsung-will-offer-dual-sim-galaxy-note-7-in-select-markets/

UAE: 700, 800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600

The Note 7 is already a looker but damn...that is stunning, and right in my wheelhouse. I'd also love to know how compatible it is with U.S. GSM carriers.

Do Samsung honour warranty without much hassle? Original receipt required?

Usually UAE gets the FD (dual sim variant of the international model, usually Exynos) whereas China/HK get a slightly different one with more TD-LTE bands to support the China mobile network and is usually a Snapdragon.

Thankfully, although the mainland model doesn't have any Google stuff, on previous Notes and S series models I've always been able to flash the HK ROM which does.

So the UAE one should have all the bands the international one does. Has Samsung released specs on the international one, I'd like to see the bands. Will have to do some research. Do you think it would come unlocked?

edit: So SM-N930FD is the one UAE has. I'm going to see if my brother in law can take a look. Bonus, it has the Exynos proc.

edit2: wow it's got a ton of bands: GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS850 (B5), UMTS900 (B8), UMTS1700/2100 (B4), UMTS1900 (B2), UMTS2100 (B1), LTE2100 (B1), LTE700 (B17), TD-SCDMA2000, LTE850 (B5), TD-SCDMA1900, LTE700 (B13), LTE1700/2100 (B4), LTE1800 (B3), LTE2600 (B7), LTE1900 (B2), LTE800 (B18), LTE900 (B8), LTE800 (B20), LTE1900 (B25), LTE700 (B12), LTE800 (B26), TD-LTE2600 (B38), LTE800 (B19), TD-LTE2500 (B41), TD-LTE2300 (B40), TD-LTE1900 (B39), LTE700 (B28)

[doublepost=1470358189][/doublepost]For AT&T it's missing only LTE B30 2300BCS
For Tmobile its not missing any bands.

Anyone know how important 2300BCS is?

Don't need receipt, your Serial number is all Samsung need. They know it's 2 years in the EU so can tell at least when device was manufacturered from their records. You can also register the device online anyway too which will give them your details and purchase date, but they will take that from you when you first ring anyway. You don't need a receipt.

Wish the blue was the dark sapphire, and didn't have the gold band. Anyone else wish they would put out a ruby red like the special edition iron man phone from last year.

Oh well black it is.

I would love if Samsung got more bold with the color schemes.

I tried the Note 7 today at Best Buy when I was just in the neighborhood. Didn't try the speakers, so that's a missing spot. Best Buy disables the Iris Scanner and other biometrics.

Here are my quick thoughts:

I am digging the white software colors with many apps, like messaging and the phone dialer. The settings menu looks cleaner than past Touchwiz iterations. The phone didn't have any false touches so far. The device feels nice in the hands and is extremely light, which is surprising how good the Samsung body profile is these days. I wish the S7/S7E Onyx had the black metal frame instead of silver. The camera setup is a lot easier to use between switching filters and front/back cameras. It's the same as S7 anyways. The screen is absolutely gorgeous as well. The S-Pen is nice too.

What I wish I did was use more of the AOD features and the new power saving mode features. Please bring that to the S7, Samsung. I want to lower my resolution to prolong usage.

Weird, the iPhone 6S/6S Plus had Band 30 in AT&T and unlocked models lol.

Do they repair your phone and take about 2-4 weeks as a turn around time in Europe? For the US, they give us prepaid shipping (two day shipping), have their 3rd party company inspect and repair, then go on to returning it. They do a month turnaround time at times.
