Marquis Brown said the iris scanner got faster and faster as he used it. Like it learns from each scan.
If that's true it would be awesome in the winter, Marques has to be one of the best reviewers peruod, the quality of his videos is something else...that's what a red Dragon can do for you.

If this thing only had a removable battery I would upgrade but their is no way I'm going pay 850 $ for a phone with 6 months old specs and a sealed battery which will lose 40 percent capacity within 2 years.

Overall I hope the IPhone 7 or 6 se will be a good one too because competition pushes the limit and is good for the consumer

Here is the MBKHD video. He does say the Iris scanner seemed to get faster each time he tried it. ALMOST as easy as the FP scanner

 That battery pack that snaps on to the back catches my attention every time I've seen it so far. It's so sleek compared to most battery cases. Oh goodness don't even try to compare that lumpy Apple monstrosity to it.

I'm so getting that! Okay I've just channeled my daughter's best friend there...that was scary. :D

But yeah, I'm gonna be all over that when it is released. I'll need that for my next cross country trip with the kids next year. My SE held out valiantly but I did need my 6SPlus along to help handle all the pics, vids and FB uploads we needed to do for our sports team.

Wouldn't get your hopes up. I enjoy how we find out about phones before their announcements, for the most part, so we know what to expect. No headphone jack, a dual camera set up, 3GB of RAM, no info about new QHD IPS set up? Sounds like a wonky 2014 flagship.

Samsung's 2016 success is truly remarkable. The iPhone 7/7+ is in serious trouble with a Note 7 release this month and then a S8 release in early 2017. Naturally, the iPhone will be a standard of comparison because it was once the best seller in the US and other markets. The S7 Edge outsold the S7, which both outsold the iPhone 6S/6S+. Naturally, a Note 7 with better features, value, and software should win the day again.

The s7 and s7 edge outsold the iPhone 6s/6s plus? That's news to me.

Yeah, that battery pack looks real handy. Anyone know the cost (US)?

After some research, I believe it will retail for $69.99.

That picture is of me holding the Note 7. Holding the S7 Edge my skin would overlap and touch the screen which caused a bunch of false touches. Not seeing that with the note 7, so I'm hopeful that means it'll be much better with not getting false touches.
All reviews I've seen has said no false touches which is good

Those that do get the Note 7. Please keep us posted on screen protection situation and whether the less pronounced edge improves the screen protector situation. If false touches are fixed, that would be my only other issue.

The BBC's Olympics VR app is geolocked to the UK?? This sucks, I imagine I pay to the BBC via my cable provider.

Already received my screen protectors and two spigen cases. The cases had been on sale on Amazon. Got an Ultra hybrid and Neo hybrid case for about £6 altogether! Just need a 64GB memory card now. Does anyone have any recommendations? I was looking at the Samsung Evo +

The majority do not want a removable battery if it impacts aesthetics just like they do not want a flat screen even for the Note if it results in an ugly phone. Go and buy another geeky android.

Also you don't need to pay RRP. Its a Samsung and its price will dive within weeks.

After watching a few videos I'm offically tempted by the blue colour

They had them at my Best Buy. I was surprised how shiny the silver one was. It looked so dull in the renders but it was very pretty it almost made me regret my choice of blue.

Yahhh!!! I am officially torn! I have had a white Note 4 for 2 years and the white was actually quite nice, didn't affect how I felt I saw videos (I used to think white would make a glaring frame vs black) but now since I haven't SEEN these phones live, I had to reserve both black and silver on the Samsung Canada website (no deposits so I am not officially committed yet). I chose the gear fit 2 as the bonus goody. (vs the wireless speaker).

I can't decide between black and silver! Man, I hope one of our BBs have it here so I can go and when I have to confirm my order I know what the hell I want! On a plus side, nice to see Canada is getting the Exynos chip. (sp?).

Blue has never been one of my liked colours, if gold was available I would have chosen it in a heartbeat. What worries me is the reflective nature of what I have seen/heard about the silver, blinding myself on the street if I want to look up something doesn't appeal....

You guys still use screen protectors? Almost a year with my note 5 and I heavily abuse it, screen or back doesn't even have the faintest hint of a scratch or blemish. Gorilla glass 5 will make it that much more resilient. I really enjoy the look and feel of a naked phone now, nothing else like it.

I take it you don't live near the sea or venture onto a beach 3 times a day ;) Sand & Grit - even the merest grain or two can make $h*t of your screen regardless of latest GG unfortunately.

I speak from sad experience ..... :(

Plus being on the beach as often as I am, grains of sand invariably get everywhere. In your pockets, in the car, everywhere. Put your phone in said pocket, apply friction and you have a recipe for scratch town city.

I'm not tempted yet to upgrade. I got my Note 5 in Sept of last year and fortunately with the switch from ATT to T-Mobile, I only paid the $250 for the device and am not in a contract. The Note 7 checks off a LOT of boxes for me. But right now there's nothing "wrong" with my Note 5 and I might wait to throw down 800+ on a new phone the next round.

What brand screen protector?

Yeah I can see sand maybe being an issue, lol I'm not a beach person. I'm curious to see how GG5 holds up against sand. I read something yesterday about "diamond glass" which is supposed to come out soon, that may work nicely for you.

Yeah it's amazing that despite all the scratch resistances they do, its the most inconspicuous little grain of sand or grit that does the damage. Even tempered screen protector wise I go through at least one every couple of months because of it, and regular screen protectors end up getting marked barely a day after putting them on. Stronger GG and diamond / sapphire glass is welcome indeed, but its still a gamble for me, especially when these devices are getting so pricy. The Note 7 being €900 (899) here for example, it seems silly not to protect it for €20 when you consider the resale value plummet if you scratch the screen, or the cost of a new screen.

Here is Erica Griffin's first impressions on the Note 7.
She doesn't seem to like the iris scanner.
She loves the new TouchWiz and Grace UX

I am liking the new AOD note taking feature. Being able to pin notes to the screen so they are available when you pick up your phone. I use my phone as my grocery list. So i usually have to wake my phone to see my list and what is next when at the grocery store. Now I can just pick up my phone and AOD with the pinned note will show my list :)

Yeah, I may have to start using AOD because of this.

Erica Griffin did a nice first look review.

Secure Folder is better than I thought ...... 12:36 (Way better than Private Mode)
And I like the ability to change resolution ...11:57
