Sure. And like the stylus, most folks won't even bother with the Iris Scanner. So my point remains: these aren't items I'd hang a medal on for "most innovative."

Yup, autocorrect strikes again! Obsolete. The point is that the *advantage* it has over NFC currently will be short lived. And I personally haven't found it to be as reliable as using Apple or Android pay.
My issue with it as well. I don't see it as a gimmick as it could be a really useful feature but Samsung has done a poor job with its implementation. If they had utilized raise to wake and simultaneously activated the iris scanner, it could be a blazing fast security solution. As it stands now it's just clumsy.
I have to agree with you MRU. There are some legitimate uses for it such as when wearing gloves. But I can unlock my phone faster using the FP scanner. Its just the heart rate sensor of 2016. A few will use, but most will use to show off the feature for first few days as novelty (to show off to friends etc..) and then within a few days after novelty has worn off, relegate it to the same fate as the HRS.
Though i think it likely has more place on a mobile than the HRS overall and in a couple of revisions time will be much better and practical.
The Iris scanner seems like a gimmick to me as you have to do 3 steps to get to the homescreen
- wake up the phone
- swipe
- scan iris
Wow just called ATT to bitch at their high prices and they bumped me up from 15gb to 20gb for the same price. It's going to make leaving them that much more difficult, especially with the BOGO offer.
The Lumia isn't instantaneous.
[doublepost=1470267385][/doublepost]Want to add, my old Surface Pro 4's Windows Hello wasn't instantaneous, but it was implemented better for sure.

Loyalty rentention department? BOGO is swell and all, but I can't deal with the hassle with T-Mobile these days, especially with their rebate rejection spree.
Yeah, they're awful, that's why I'm switching all the way back to AT&T. Not only did they not cover the etf of one of my lines like they said they would, the rep I got my S7 edges from apparently didn't fill out the bogo paperwork correctly and I never got credit for the second S7 edge. And the only response I get from anyone I talk to there is that there's nothing they can do.The Lumia isn't instantaneous.

Also, here is a pic of me holding the Note 7, and as you can see, holding it normally my fingers and palms aren't touching the screen.

That picture is of me holding the Note 7. Holding the S7 Edge my skin would overlap and touch the screen which caused a bunch of false touches. Not seeing that with the note 7, so I'm hopeful that means it'll be much better with not getting false touches.I must have fatter hands than you (no really I'm in great shape), holding it like that and I could see my skin overlapping and touching those edges. Hopefully I find one to fondle tomorrow.
Cancellation dept, I would think it's retentions but the rep sounded a bit unknowledgeable. I think it's a promo that's going on if you ask for it. She really didn't offer me anything else and was ok letting me go to Tmobile, even though I wouldn't because I need my phones to actually be able to make phone calls.
I'm going to pop into an ATT store and get it all set up, guess I'm staying with them. On another note I went by my local Best Buy and of course no Note 7 displays. When I inquired about it I just got a teenager looking at me like I had 2 heads who had no idea whatsoever. They still had S6 edges displayed as soon as you walk in. I'm just wondering how long it will take BB to go the way of others like circuit city.

To me a gimmick is when a feature has little use AND it doesn't work properly. In the past Samsung was notorious for adding these features that not only had little use other than to fill a marketing sheet, they didn't work right and bogged down the phone.
But something like the iris scanner, while its something I probably won't be using, from all the hands on I've seen it seems to work very well, and they're even using infrared so it works in low light too. So that to me isn't a gimmick, but a niche feature, and there is nothing wrong with niche features.
It's silly to disregard any feature you don't use as a gimmick. All the photos I take with my iPhone are live photos, I love that feature ever since I had it on my m7 when they were called zoes and i was very happy they came to the iphone and apples implementation has been fantastic. That's a completely silly definition. Apple's Live Photos, in example, is very much a gimmick yet works flawlessly.
Here is the T-Mobile Note 7 unboxing video...with lots of water!
Yeah it seemed to work really fast for him in the video. Faster than I thought it would tbh....Just reminded me of another reason the Iris scanner will come in handy, finger print sensor barley works with wet fingers.
Galaxy Note 7 pre-order deal that Sam’s Club is offering before making their decision. The freebies are mostly the same across all carrier and retail partners but Sam’s Club is taking things up a notch by offering a $150 gift card with every pre-order of the Galaxy Note 7.

OMG...had a chance to check out the Note 7 at a BB store. What a nice phone! It is a little thicker than my S7 edge and I think a little wider. But no false touches at all. I could pick it up and hold it in my hand as normal and get no false touches where I would on my S7 edge. Love the new TW....so much faster and intuitive.
Can't wait to get this phone. I hope TMO ships out early like they did with the S7 edge. If normal release is the 16th I am hoping to get it on the 12th. C'Mon TMO let's get these out early!
Here is the MBKHD video. He does say the Iris scanner seemed to get faster each time he tried it. ALMOST as easy as the FP scannerMarquis Brown said the iris scanner got faster and faster as he used it. Like it learns from each scan.
