Gotta say, I am VERY disappointed with my battery life.

Disabled just about all Samsung extras like Air Gesture, Smart Scroll, etc. Brightness at about 75% and I've disabled Google Now. In very minimal usage today - I'm talking roughly 45 minutes total screen time, and a majority of that time it was plugged into a car charger, I've found my battery now dead.

This is my second S4, after my first one was shooting upside down photos and videos.

/frustrated

Just a heads up don't use regular chargers on this phone.the gs4 is using the quick charge built into the chipset and adjusts the current to save the battery and charge it super fast for the fist 70% and the vary the rate and you should only use the Samsung car charger and not a reg one and is most def the reason your phone is acting up.

I can't see that being the problem. I know not everyone is using the "official" samsung charger, and probably does not have issues.

Does everybody have sync on? what does it sync exactly? do you need it on to get all notifications?

I'm pretty sure turning off sync will basically stop syncing anything that's under your "accounts" in the settings. Don't know for sure though, as I never turned it off.

MUCH better than that Incipio case I had before. This one is the Spigen Neo Hybrid. I really like the built-in button extensions on the side, although I immediately found myself accidentally waking the phone up when I pull it out of my pocket. Still, they are easier to press than the actual buttons on the phone. The back is a soft grippy plastic (TPU), which means it'll attract every piece of lint and dust within a 10 mile radius I'm sure. The lip around the screen, which I usually hate on every case out there, is a little more than the Incipio case, but I think it's low enough to not be a bother. Hopefully it doesn't trap dust on the screen because I really like this case. It's kinda looks like a really big iPhone 4S. The surrounding band is plastic, comes in different colors. I went with brushed silver because I thought it went with the white phone better. Although their 'slate' color is really nice, but they were sold out on Amazon. It comes with something they call a "jelly bean button", which is supposed to stick over the home button, but I didn't put that on because I can't see why you would. Overall, much better than the Incipio I had before, and just a really nice case.

Damm the gs4 is getting A LOT of love around here, lot of old blackberry users and first smartphones adopters.

Several people ive asked if they had other option in mind and the answear was the iphone but due to lack of features (yes those gimmick ones) the went with Samsung.

Claps, claps for Samsung :) best marketing ive seen in years.

Very disappointed with the WatchON app by samsung to control your TV. The HTC One implementation is much better, I think the IR emitter is stronger on the One too.

Android has a sync provider that apps can tie into. The sync provider manages when synchronization actions occur for any apps that subscribe to it and it tries to do it in the best and smartest way possible. You can find what uses it under setting -> accounts and can selectively turn it on or off for apps that use it.

What do you find disappointing about it?

My TV is about 24ft away and the IR changes the Cable box and TV just fine.

Only thing I don't like is even when your on the universal part of the remote, when you press the power button a popup appears for you to turn on each thing individually instead of turning everything on at once like a real cable universal remote. Other than that, no complaints.

The Channel guide for my provider sorely lacking, only covering the first 85 channels whereas the One's guide covers all the channels I get. Also, I find i have to point the S4 directly at the tv for it to control it, with the One I was able to offset the phone by a few degrees and it still registered

I've read the GT-I9500 (international, non-LTE, Exynos variant) lacks the IR blaster, is this true?

And by the way, that's the variant in stores in my country.

<Not knocking Samsung but these reports...>

In fairness does anyone 'ever' read these consumer reports things. I have never met anyone in my life who has or hasn't bought a product based on anything they say; simply because they are oblivious the organisation actually exists or frankly care.

I was going to order that case, but wasn't sure it would go with the white S4. I'm still not convinced it does. Maybe a white back or bezel (rim) on the front would tie it together better?

First post with my gs4! Love it so far but miss a few things from my old gs3.i dont like how the default zoom works on the browser and how you can sync with google to get your bookmarks synced.it now only syncs to chrome.

the wifi in this is also faster then the gs3,the fastest I jave hot with my old cell on 5ghz was around 60mb and now im hitting 80-85

Screen is great and im already used to it and dont like using the gs3.i sent all my movies and mp3s from my old cell using wifi direct and it was a breeze.it took me legit 30 min to get the gs4 exactly how my gs3 was setup.

if some of you are looking for develeper menu its now hidden so you need to go to device info and keep clicking on the build number and it will say dev mode unlocked

took me forever to find it to set animations to zero

16gb formated is around 14gb and my device said I had 9.2gb free so about 5gb taken up by the system which is not that bad vonsidering it has language translation built in that will work without a network

The 16 hours is nothing. I can do over 24 hours with over 5 hours of on-screen time on my HTC One. It is the 8 hours of screen-time (the biggest battery drainer) which is excellent.
Lol...I can do the same with my S4.....

24 hours of battery life isn't impressive, especially when some people only have 5 hours of screen time aka actual use
