It's $700 for the touchwiz gs4 here if you don't have an hup available. I would hardly call it the most expensive gs4.

Not to mention how many people buy $800 iPhones unlocked, this is not so bad.

However I think I'll pass too and rather buy a One. I am done with AMOLEDs and if the next nexus has a nice enough camera would rather get that even if its $400+.
In the USA it would be, and i dont care what people pay for an unlocked iPhone. Id never pay that for a 4" screen phone. Some people will pay any price if it has a Apple logo on it.

Considering the N4 is only $349, i think $649 is ridiculous just to have it unlocked with the bloat taken off. Hell i can just root it and do that myself for free. I do understand that it is Samsungs phone and not one Google had made that they can sell cheaper (i guess) but i see no advantage to have a Google version at that price.

You are forgetting that the nexus phones were also in the $600 before google spoiled everyone.

Also the nexus doesn't have LTE, a higher storage option (fixed or variable) than 16 GB, a great camera, a 1080p panel, a snapdragon 600 etc......

And whatever your sentiments about the iPhone having an apple logo are, people are buying these galaxies with Samsung logo for $600 and above already in the after market.

But I think I am not going to argue over this any more as I have a feeling this will go nowhere.

Top tier Android phones sell for the same price as iPhones. For the first few months after release, used prices too. After a few months though, Android phones lose value quickly.

I am not a fan of AMOLED and have no idea of the 'screen blotch' issue still exists on the S4, but the panel looked pretty good to me. The One looks better, but its the resolution is high enough that I probably won't complain too badly about the PenTile Diamond Matrix. I went from a RAZR MAXX HD (AMOLED 720) to and iPhone 5 and find the iPhone screen significantly superior. I can't stand PenTile.

Yeah, but what is that? Sorry, been out of town with no computer, ....just my phone and havent been able to follow these things as well.

EDIT*

Nevermind, i Googled it. Yeah no thanks, ....$649 in the playstore? I dont think so. That would make it the most expensive GS4 going.

Yeah well... Its a great phone for those who like it unlocked... It comes with the bootloader unlocked.. That is very nice and it wont have all that Samsung/ATT crap installed.

Pure Android and you get the latest android upgrades first like in the Nexus phones.

Id have to weigh my options here. First i was possibly going to get a 32 GB version and there isnt one with the Google version. Hopefully there is more space available with the Google version.

The way T-Mobiles new plans are, it may or may not be beneficial to me. I will owe about $200 on my GS3 come June so to get a GS4 thru them would cost me $349. I probably wont get the GS4 in June anyways, think ill wait till July or August so that figure will be a little lower by $20 or $40.

If i buy the GS4 thru the Playstore, it would cost me $649(which is more than the total price outright at T-Mobile) but i could pass down my GS3 to the Wife (who is using a Windows phone w/ a 3.7" screen) and not have my bill go up (i pay $144 a month)

As far as the bootloaders being unlocked and no bloat, i dont really care about that because i can do that myself if i root it and i can have T-Mobile unlock it for free. And as far as updates, this week i got my 4th OTA update on my GS3 since last July from TMo to JB 4.1.2...so the updates havent been too bad. A lot better than usual with Android devices. Still, i know they will be a little better with coming from Google, ...though the Nexus 4 hasnt had but 1.

I just returned from Best Buy and I'll say the S4 is awesome. The sales guy was very helpful and pointed out a lot of the features. I spent a good deal of time playing with it, I was the only one in the phone department haha. Is it Thursday yet? :D

I am only keeping my Nexus 4 out of curiosity for the next updates from Google, and I don't use the air features on my S4 so selling it and my Nexus 4 to fund the Google version if it ever came to the UK store. :)

It turned you on that much?

You could have been arrested. Good job there wasn't anyone in the department.

Ha funny....I was the only one interested in seeing the S4 so I was able to test it out without feeling like I was hogging it.

Note for Verizon users the sales guy had a Note 2 and Verizon's name was etched onto the home button. I'm assuming it will be the same for S4. It's not a big deal but it was noticeable. Not sure if the name is on the back of the phone too.

Got a figure in mind for how much you will ask for your N4? I may give my S3 to the Wife but may get her N4 since she has a N7 instead and sell my S3.

Not sure TBH, probably around the £120 mark, but that would depend on if and when the GS4 came to the UK, if it is left too long, the Nexus 5 will be out so I would be asking less. :)

Keep me in mind if you would when you decide to sell it. You seem to keep your things in good shape that id be confident in. All the N4's are built the same as far as working in the UK and US right?

Thankfully, the Verizon S4 doesn't have the logo on the home button.
