I do but the Garda say it's unlikely that I'll get it back. I checked on Find My iPhone but the guy turned it off. I sent out a command to erase it in case there was any sensitive info and it happens to connect to the internet.

I wondered why there was no naughty pictures. damn ! ;) j/k

Yeah I read during summer Killarney town had 400 phones go stolen each day over 1 weekend. They blamed organised gangs coming in to each town / city and then shipping them off to eastern europe.

Do you have iOS 7 with its security features? Than the person can't resell it for much money.

I think I did. What can they do it with it then? I have a passcode turned on but it's 0000 and I use that because my Exchange email forces a passcode to be set.

Do u have find my iPhone enabled? If it's enabled they can restore iPhone as "new". So it will be stuck on activation screen and ask for your find my iPhone user name and password

I did request for it to be erased but it's pending because the guy who stole it must have turned it off.

You cannot turn off find my iPhone in ios7 that's a security feature unless you (the rightful owner) have the password.

Once you wipe it out (remotely) (if find my iPhone was still enabled) than it still requires the right full owner to re activate the phone.

It's a nifty security feature. You see quite a few eBay postings about selling these stolen iPhones.

That's good to know. So there's no way for him to wipe it and use it himself?

You just have to turn find my phone on. It may be part of the initial set up now :p

I guess this means he can't do anything, right? Would he be able to somehow use a "forgot my password" form to get past this? How did he change the name of the phone?

Not sure. I didn't think you could even get last the lock screen. At least you know Leroy stole it.

Well I had 0000 as my passcode because I hate using them but my Exchange email forces me to. Does that change anything? I was told even if he erases it himself he'd still need my password upon activation.

He may have guessed the password, but if he tried to erase the phone it would ask for your appleid and password.
