I'm waiting for my warranty period to run out before I get CM into my phone. The photos on stock Touchwiz are fantastic, so I'm sorry to hear that the CM camera messes it up . Is there no way to get the Touchwiz camera on CM? Have you tried third party camera apps?

I don't think you can just put TouchWiz apps on CM, you need to have the TW base framework thing installed. I do use Instagram and that tends to work better than the stock camera app in CM from what I can tell. Not tried anything else since I don't take many photos anyway.

Anyone know if you can turn the vibration off when on charge? I just got the wireless charging pad from Samsung and I woke up to notice a pretty obvious flaw. The phone will vibrate itself right out of position throughout the night.

I like having the vibrate on during the day, but it's not needed at night on charge. I guess it's a good thing I don't use Hangouts for SMS, one text message and the phone would vibrate itself right off the pad! lol

You can use Tasker to stop it vibrating when it's charging if you have it.

I Fecked my sim reader / tray by using a nano sim in a micro sim adapter ...

Bent pins ejecting the sim :(. Gone in for repair today, apparently quite a common fault.

My new S4 has a noise coming from the earpiece, at all times. It does it even with the screen off and the phone not in use. It sound like electrical interference. It is a buzzing/crackling sound. When on a call it is very annoying. Has anyone had this happen before? It starts as soon as the phone is turned on, so I don't think there is anything I can do to fix it.

Have you done a factory restore, if yes - sounds like a repair job :(

That isn't normal. You probably need to get it replaced.

My wife recently got a S4 from her work. Isn't there a feature where the phone can send out a text if you pass by a certain landmark?

ex: I want the phone to text "I am exiting the freeway" once I pass a freeway exit instead of me physically texting while driving.

I know I read somewhere that was possible just not sure how to do it

I use Tasker to do this. Or you can try Settings Profile or Locale.

Can anyone tell me how 4.4.2 runs on the GS4?

The same as 4.3 and a bit better then the 4.2.2 before it.
The micro lags that were inherent with 4.2.2 are gone, which is the biggest improvement. In terms of features, you don't get ART runtime, which is a pity, since the S5 seems to have it.

Have found it runs quite well on 4.4.2 but the battery seems to have taken a beating, times between charge is much reduced.

Don't think the hotword does that, Google Now does that.

Yeah I was referring to the advice I gave the user previously about turning off google location history and they asked wouldn't that cripple the functionality ...

Rather than hotword part. :)

On my Samsung s4 mini none of my notification when I get them from numerous apps such as instagram, snapchat, Facebook messenger and twitter. How do I get them to appear bearing in mind all my notifications are enabled and each app

My biggest hatred for this phone has become this issue with the SMS app. I have to tap the "Enter Text" field about 6 or 7 times before it allows me to start typing. Really ****ing annoying. I don't know why, it started acting slow for that one function about 3 months ago.

Try using a third party SMS app like Google Hangouts. I never liked Sammy's SMS app, it was buggy, it wouldn't let me write a long SMS without trying to change it to an MMS either.

Yeah but I really didn't like Hangouts either, although I'll give it a try again. One of my biggest complaints was that it didn't display a preview of a new incoming SMS on the lock screen like Samsung's stock SMS app does. Unless there's a setting option I'm not seeing.
