I always pictured if we were to have dual-edged sides that if I was playing a game in landscape mode, I can still see my messages and a sports ticker flowing from the top and bottom. I know people haven't noticed because they are too busy hating TouchWiz, but every year Samsung have improved the software for the Note series. They come up with new features that are both useful and meaningful for a larger display and stylus.

In a way, I AM HAPPY Samsung LOST marketshare recently. It is similar to how I felt about Manny Pacquiao losing to Marquez in 2012. He needed to wakeup from complacency by being put to sleep in Rd 6. That's why I am happy he will be like a 2-1 underdog this May. More money for me. Samsung were underdogs before. I see them using their recent market collapse as a way to try harder.

They say we learn more from our failures and mistakes than from our successes. Samsung needed to lose some of their edge in order to try to come back stronger and "edgier"... I truly believe that. Again, S6 edge is the most BEAUTIFUL and FORWARD-THINKING device Samsung have ever released. Call it gimmicky, novelty, niche, or whatever you might feel about it right now. But it is the first and only one of its kind in design as of today just like the first gen Note was in 2011. Many others will copy it. Remember the LG G3 Stylus trying to emulate the S-Pen last year? What other company out there is trying to change the industry like what Samsung is willing to do? Kudos to Samsung for willing to get out of their comfort zone. There is more FORESIGHT to this device than meets the eye. After the S series, Note series, start hedging your bets on the Galaxy Edge series...

Flipboard is notorious for lag, so I'm not surprised. I had lag from Flipboard on every smartphone I owned, even lags when going to the home screen from Flipboard, just like the video shown. Can't blame that one on TW.
Flipboard lags on my 6+ especially when scrolling.

Don't you also use your smartphone far more than a 55 Inch TV or laptop?

I certainly do. It's with me 99% of the time and I can everything on it.

Yeah but we already have other cheaper smartphones that have sufficed. I don't really see myself doing anything more with the latest higher priced ones.

I wrote elsewhere that I returned the SP3 cause of the high price and it was overkill but I rather go for it when the price comes down instead of the newest smartphones coming out since I already have enough smartphones.

The Edge is sweet in theory but I'm not sure it's real practicle. I'm not interested in watching videos with screen distortion on the bottom or top.

Marquis brownie says it's quite immersive actually. Who knows until we try it ourselves. It's a subtle edge so the distortion I don't think will be that great. But I also see what you're saying.

Yeah it's good for swiping in portrait mode, but using it in landscape mode for movies and games it seems a little bit weird.

I'll take the s6 and save 150€.

If you take a 32gb S6 you'll save €250 ;) Only the 64gb Edge (starting size) seems to be heading to Europe and thats priced at €950 !!!!!

Really ? Ok that gives me hope for Ireland that my carrier might get the 32gb version.

I hear you. But concerning a device I use as frequently as I do my iPhone, the overall user experience and feel of the device matter as much, if not more, to me than specs.

It's not only about what the device can do. It's also about how I feel when I use it. I need to enjoy using the device. I get that with the iPhone and other Apple products.

Yeah, I completely agree in that aspect, but I just think prices are getting way too high. It seems each year they cost more and more.

I can buy any phone on release date, but my wallet hurts when I see the price. I remember the days when I used to buy phones for 600 euros, like the Nokia N90, N95, etc. Since then I haven't paid that much again (maybe because now smartphones are so good I don't really need to change that often).

This is the first Samsung phone that I am seriously interested in. I've always wanted to join in on the fun, but the bloated skin has always deterred me. I know I will get a great camera with this phone and probably an improved fingerprint scanner. Samsung Pay (why not call it "S Pay?") seems like an awesome feature if it does indeed allow me to pay with my phone at 99% of the merchant terminals out there.

Again, for me it's just a value proposition. I spend money on what I use and value most.

Programs like AT&T Next help - interest free financing essentially.

AT&T Next has been grand.

Interest free financing makes the purchases of devices way more palatable as an expense and then you have the 12 month upgrade cycle as an option.

Since I have two upgrades available to me now I can very easy get an S6 Edge and Note 5 or iPhone in the fall.

The edge was awarded best new device at MWC from gsma. Whatever that means.

Using my highy tuned Sherlock Holmes sleuthing & deducing skills that I have honed over years and years of 'literal detective' work - I believe it means that in GSMArena's opinion - the best new device that they covered at MWC was the Galaxy Edge ....

Though I could be wrong :p

---------------

Still going to get an 'emerald green' edge regardless of what anyone else thinks - here or GSMarena :p

A shame, here in the UK, that in a lot of times carriers only sell the entry models on contract and if you want larger models, like the 128G one, you have to buy off-contract.

Hope this will be different with the Edge.

I thought this too but it seems as though O2 will be offering 128GB at least for the S6
