Damn you guys are making me so jealous.
I see that they've reduced the price of the Edge+ on the Samsung store by £150! That's just crazy. It's now the same price as it was on Giffgaff, which has reduced by £30 since I last checked, and I'm hoping for a further discount there. And weirdly enough, it's actually cheaper than the standard Edge.
Still can't decide between black and gold though. Gold looks super sexy, but the black looks super stealthy. Black shows more fingerprints, but makes the screen blend in when using a dark mode. But gold still shows fingerprints, and it would still look pretty cool with a dark mode. My heart tells me to go for the gold though

Yeah its a great phone - just remember though with price falling as fast as it is - don't pin your hopes on resale value.

But ignoring that - I much prefer the edge + , I managed to flash the unbranded XEU official firmware on mine yesterday (the same firmware you get when buying direct from Samsung) and unlocked it from the 3 Network - so I have my Vodafone 4G sim in there now all working great. TBH i got a genuine bargain at €480 and have no regrets with the purchase even if it was completely on impulse and un-needed.

I just pray nothing goes wrong with this model and I face the same horrible repair situation with Samsung as my poor standard edge is currently going through.

A little snap yesterday on a very dull, wet day on the beach. This is using the 'selective focus' mode on the camera.

Nice shot, but weird how the sand on the bottom seems more focused, but still not as focused as on the dog.

Resale value isn't a deciding factor for me as I plan to keep the phone for about 2 years, so I don't really think any phone has much value after that long.
And I don't really get what you mean on your second paragraph. Do you mean that you prefer the normal Edge over the Edge+? Because I thought that you said you preferred the Edge+ over the Note 5 and the normal Edge.
As for the photo, I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the selective focus. In that sort of environment in particular, I like a consistent photo. Everything else is great though, including the dog.

A photo from you like that MRU helps me to remember getting the Note 5 should be the right choice as a good camera is one of the priority's for me. Fantastic photo.

Sorry no i was referring to the Edge + , it just got lost in communication. And yes I prefer it to the standard Edge & Note 5 :)

Awesome picture

looking forward to seeing how the 6s plus wills stand up to pictures on my edge
My 6s plus is supposed to be in the 02 shop on 5/10/15, I'm glad as it'll give me time to check comparisons between the 2 phones and will help me choose. Was set on the iPhone until I played with the edge+.

Great. My S6 Edge stopped working. I wanted to put the phone into Ultra mode, to save battery. Well, I did, then wanted to restart the device but the device simply won't restart. It got stuck. This phone is not rooted.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hard reboot.

Hold down power button and volume down for 7-10 seconds

Thanks. I've tried it a few times. Doesn't do anything. It gives me the Samsung logo and then appears to get stuck...
Sounds as fecked as the edge I am currently having serviced. Kicking up freezing and rebooting even when powered down and in charge. Essentially you need hardware support now. Hope they fix it better than mine was initially returned repaired ...

Quick question, how much TouchWiz functionality would the phone lose by installing a launcher? Flipboard briefing, theming, etc.

You lose briefing.

Theme's retain their look on applications themselves however theme icons are not retained.

You lose some TW widgets like weather clock

Samsung have reduced the prices of the edge plus on their website. The 64GB is now £679.
why do they start the price so damn high? makes no sense when a few months later they always drop it..and people know this so they never buy it on that site.

Ok, I think that I'll just start off with the TouchWiz launcher then get nova after about a week. See which I prefer.

I guess it's because there's more demand at the start. Still, I'm glad I'm not the type that buys everything on day one.

It took quite a few tries. After lots of patience, I finally got the Android screen that would allow me to actually choose the wipe data and clean install option.
Oh well, not sure if I'll get another Samsung. I love the design but I've had quite a bit of headache with my choice.

Thanks for the help, Ddyracer and MRU. Much appreciated.
