Yeah that's weird. Long press home definitely takes into Google Now here. Was yours always doing that or only since your update?

I believe always did that. It's a stupid unnecessary step. I just want to go into Google Now.

Bizarre.

I'm not sure if this has been brought up at any point during this thread, but tonight I went to Best Buy to try out the S6 and Edge. On each one I tried, the phone just wasn't very responsive. I had to press down firmly on the screen sometimes to get it to register, and there was considerable lag with scrolling. It basically made the phone unusable. Is this just an issue with demo units? The software version was 5.0.2.

I'm currently using an iPhone 6, so I don't know if this is a normal difference between the phones or if something was wrong with these demo units. I've used several Androids in the past (Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S3, HTC One) and none of them were like this.

It's probably the demo phone. Reboot it and then use it.

Changed from the iPhone 6 to GS6 yesterday and I have none of that.

I too played with the devices in store but have to say I'm really impressed so far. I couldn't really get a decent feel for the device in store with it being on the security mount, but in hand it feels so much better and performs great. Granted it's still the honeymoon period, but this is possibly the best phone I've had so far (and it's fair to say I get through quite a few!)

Alright, I'm going to give this one last shot.

I just wish I knew the best way to make sure I don't get the same frustrations as last time.

Any tips, guys?

Only tip would be to set up your phone slowly. When you first boot it up, sign into your account and connect to wifi, then let it sit for a while while it syncs. Afterwards, restart it, then let it sit for another 5 min. while it reloads everything. Then, go into the app drawer and uninstall anything you don't want, but do it in the app drawer and not the settings menu. Afterwards, restart again and let sit for 5 min. while it reloads again. Then update all your apps and restart again. Now just install your most essential apps, try to keep it to less than 5. Once installed, restart one last time. No use the phone, and if after a week everything looks good, start installing more of your apps, just not all once, installing them over the course of a couple of weeks, this way if one app screws up your phone, it would be fairly easy to figure out which it is.

I know, it's a bit overkill, just want to make sure everything sets itself off properly.

For the record, this place is way more helpful than AC. The first response to a thread about my problems is that... the problems I'm having don't exist. :\

I have Google Now enabled.

I can say "OK Google" and it'll take me to Now, or I can hit the microphone button in the search bar, and it'll take me to Now, but if I hold the home button, it takes me the the Google Search bar.

I would like for it to go to this:

Not this:

ACVzqT6m.png

Any ideas? :(

PS. Um, ignore those searches. Heh heh.

Yeah same here. Holding the home button opens the Google app instead of Google Now.

Have you enabled Google Now ?

Mine always took me to Google Now. I wonder if this is a firmware quirk of different region versions of the software?

LadyX had this issue yesterday - so yeah wonder if USA model firmware has different setting to European ?

How do I know which one my device runs?

Holding home button on mine definitely takes me to Google now and not search.

My battery sucks. Full charge this morning just reading emails and clicking on links to a forum,Facebook and posting a couple things, one short video under a minute and after 1 hour 25 minutes with screen on at 1 hour 12 minutes, my battery is down to 83%.

Just doesn't seem very good.

I fixed my battery problem with an 11$ purchase from Amazon. Otherwise, the battery on mine would suck too. :D

I wasnt being sarcastic. I really don't think that is very good. That was without playing any games at all.

But 1hr 12 mins SOT with 83% remaining would equate close to 6 hours screen on time. ?????

Given I could only get 3hrs on average screen on time with my Edge and I don't game on mobile what your getting seems very good to me.

How much more do you want from it realistically ?

I don't know. It just seems to run down fast. I played a game for about five minutes and it went down to 72%. I've gotten four to 4.5 hours of SOT before but it just seems to be getting worse. Maybe it's in my head, lol.

You on wifi or 3G?

Normally games will drain battery quickly depending on how intense the game is graphics wise
