Sales have collapsed, there will be better price cuts in a few weeks when the new iPhone is announced.

Does the quick change feature only charge fast when the battery is at 10%. maybe what I mean is the supplied charger does nothing special unless the batty is low. or does it charge faster overall? I use Ankor smart chargers and don't want to replace them if it does not matter. I don't usually let my phone get to 10% as I have a spare battery on hand most of the time.

It fast charges from zero to 90% then normal charge the last 10 to save battery long term.I believe its 9volts 2 amps the first 45 min then normal after that. I'll tell u what I've had some people at work use the 9volt fast charger vs the old 5 volt and both peoples phones last an hour and need new batteries now.

I think a kid charged his galaxy alpha in like 25 min to full lol and his phone can't hold a charge now after using the super charger on it a few times

As long as your using the fast charger included - then it will fast charge no matter what capacity it's at. I believe it fast charges up to 90% and the after charges at normal rate up to 100%

So yes it will be much faster overall.

Samsung is using 9 volts vs everyone else with 5volts on the newest fastchargers. The note 4 uses 5volts 2amps and the gs6 use 9volts 1.6 amps then tricle charge from 90%

yes I see. more voltage then. hard to read that fine print. but does it charge after if it is not doing the last 10% charge? most of my charging is wireless but if I need to charge fast and I am at 50% is it going to charge faster then what my anger can do do? well I just tested it. the phone is at 90% and the fast charger said 19 minutes till full charge and wireless 20. I will test it when it is lower.

I can't recommend this wireless charging stand more than enough. Reliable and easy to use. Either landscape or portrait mode both connect really quickly to begin charging. It doesn't have to be in the "right spot" or anything like that. Just plunk it down and it goes.

What's also great is that it puts the device perfectly angled so you can still see incoming notifications and even use the phone if you have to, and it actually charges very fast. It's just great. I have two; one at the office and one on my nightstand. And if you can catch a good deal, these can be bought fairly inexpensively.

That's a lot better price. I'd buy one for that but not over $50 like they were. I've yet to get a wireless charger. I don't think I need one since I don't have a desk job but maybe one day. I do like that one though over the flat ones.

Once it gets to 90% as we said above it trickle charges the final part as to keep the battery in good condition. Below 90% fast charging will work whether it's at 80, 70, 60 etc ...

thats what I wondered. wireless fast charging is the goal really. At work I am in and out of my shop and with bluetooth earbuds using a card to charge is a pain to have to plug and unplug it all the time. a quick charge external battery may be the way t go thats when ti is a pain to have slow charging.

Is there any info on when Samsung might update the S6 to the TW that's running on the Note 5? Sounds like there are performance and general improvements to their new build for the Note...

I don't want to be pessimistic but I honestly wouldn't 'expect' them to do it.

Countless times in the past I've bought Samsung devices and a few months later new device arrives with updated Touchwiz and my device never ever sees it. Even when the new hardware actually has exact same internals - thus ruling out any incompatibility hardware issue. Likewise there's actually no reason the S5 or Note 4 couldn't run the latest Touchwiz but they too will never ever see it either.

Honestly I would be more pleasantly surprised if we saw it than shocked if we didn't. They have not said anything about bringing any of the new features or optimisations to older, and yes sadly our S6 & S6e's are now older, devices.

We will see an android update and possible bug fixes in the future (but they haven't even stuck to the monthly security update for stage fright and others that was announced 3 weeks ago) but don't expect the shiny new Touchwiz stock theme or other enhancements (like app edge) to our existing devices.

Hopefully with theme engine someone will at least port it and perhaps release it independently.

It's just how Samsung roll sadly.

Had a bit of experience with mediocre battery the past few days in London. Instead of my usual 4-5 his SOT, I really struggled to get close to 3 and the phone was dying by mid-afternoon.

No real shift in usage other than a bit of maps but I did notice my signal was rarely above 2 bars. I think because EE use a higher 4G frequency which doesn't translate well inside or around buildings. A fair bit of Underground didn't seem to help either dropping and re-finding a signal.

Didn't get chance to try o2 (lower freq signal) but I was compromised to the point where I'd have to think about another phone off this was a long-term pattern.

Yeah I think cellular reception and one which varies a lot really hammers the battery - I suspect it's my biggest factor on my own battery life. I have varying weak signals and some area strong signals and other black spots completely and it likely is part of why I get 3hr on average with my S6e.

That's what I'm thinking is my problem as well.

I did see somewhere that Samsung was planning on bringing over some of the new features from S6 Edge+ the S6 edge, such as the app edge. Whether they will completely update touchwiz or simply add those features though, I'm not sure.

The reports of that have all been journalist opinion or predictions / assumptions. Nothing actually from the horses mouth sadly.

Much like Sammobile suggesting that the supposed 'ram fix' repeatedly reported as 'in the works' and 'coming soon' was delayed until the S6 Edge Plus was announced / released and then we'd get it .... I just don't see that happening nor the updating to add the edge additions - Samsungs past behaviour has made me jaded in regards to updates / fixes and Touchwiz optimisations.

I honestly think the extra 1gb is going to make TW a little better behaved on Note 5/S6 Edge Plus by Samsung relying on sheer muscle power once more rather than any genuine 'optimisations' under the hood.

They could surprise me .... But in 5 years they haven't done so yet.

Guys I have a question... this is my first Android device, and I was wondering if it's possible to control the Galaxy S6 camera in a similar fashion to how the iPhone handles video recording. Point being, let's say I'm recording a concert on my iPhone right? Often times from the lights of the stage, the performer on stage can't be seen since the iPhone automatically adjusts to the lights all around the performer and whatnot. In these instances, I can just touch the screen and refocus the video on the performer and it'll bring down the exposure automatically so I can clearly see the artist and everything else around them.

On the Galaxy I've noticed that when I do that, it doesn't adjust the exposure so everything remains bright and washing out the subject I wish to focus on, but all it really does is auto focus.

I hope I explained that right, is there any way to get a similar function on the Galaxy? I really think it's an AMAZING camera and I want to be able to use it to the full advantage, but that's the one major thing my iPhone has over it (camera wise) at the moment.

you don't want to know
Here is my story.

I really dislike Samsung phones. My lovely Sony M2 is currently broken so I need to fix it. Samsung's TouchWiz is the worst launcher I've ever seen. It's very slow and laggy.
Samsug's battery is very bad. Cant use it more than 5 hours without a charging.

But Samsung has the best camera, and that's it.

I'd say they have quite a bit more going for them than just the camera but it looks like your mind is made up. Why not chose another Sony or whichever model you like and meets your needs and expectations,?
