Least touchwiz will be better

I love nova though due to amount of apps available on each home screen. .so bet I would still stuck with nova

We hope ..... We all hope .....

This more than anything else will be the decider of whether a purchase will be imminent or not.

I'm hoping if we do get a new touchwiz - they finally offer me the ability to choose where my app drawer icon sits in my dock. Samsung it seems have never really cared about left handed users. I hope they finally centre it.

If you apply nova or Google launcher to a galaxy phone do you lose all the cool touch wiz features?

No, you just replace the launcher part - all stock apps & settings and everything else works the same way. The only thing you do lose is launcher features that are not on the Google Now Launcher (like the folders in app drawer) and also a few Samsung Touchwiz launcher widgets such as weather/clock.

LOL. I still can't believe I had to point out earlier that these were Samsung just playing with rumours :D:D Or does anybody want to argue different again :p

Bah, ok ok I'm embarrassed now

I guess part of me just refuses to believe anyone would intentionally design an ad campaign around disappointment like that. I mean why would you first tease with stuff that people really do want, things that are entirely feasible in terms of tech like front facing speakers and extra durability, only to later go: "Sorry guys we were just having a laugh here, of course our new phone will be just another generic slab of non-design, featuring none of those features at all, here you go!"

'Tis a rare breed of wankery what goes on at Sammy HQ, I have to say.

And yeah I'm pissed they had me going there for a minute :D

Very true, I hope to god they at least don't do the same embarrassing launch event like last years God awful Samsung S5 launch. That was one of the most embarrassing press events I have ever bore witness to. Patronising stereotypes equalled only by an unparalleled masogonistic portrayal of women turned what should have been 'the' Samsung event of the year into one of the most embarrassing moments in tech industry and one that only pissed off the media / tech journalists that attended, many of whom felt Samsung skits were an utter misstep.

Samsung Media PR department really does seem to be scripted by 100 chimps randomly tapping at keys on a typewriter - or by a company who truly doesn't understand attitudes in the West.

Only a few more days to find out if they listened to the negative feedback last year.

I thought that debacle was the S4 launch?

The S5 launch was uninspired but toned down competed to the previous year.

Yeah it was the S4 reveal. Bad reveal...worse phone. I remember watching it and thinking Samsung had completely lost its mind.

S5 reveal was pretty calm by comparison.

S4 just seems sooooo long ago now. And I clearly need senility medication as well as mobile device intervention lol.

Then just add carrier stuff.

Besides this means very little. This is exactly how the unbranded Galaxy Alpha was sold and came out of the box (minus whatsapp and Microsoft links).

The problem bloat is not just surface bloat of pre-loaded apps. It's the stuff under the hood that there isn't even an app for like ANT Radio and many others services that do the real damage to memory management as they run continuously in the background and many of them cant be uninstalled or disabled without rooting or flashing a rom. It's this stuff that we need to see Samsung jetison.

I am hopeful but not willing to hold my breath just yet.

Especially when SamMobile go on to say
Also, TouchWiz on the Galaxy S6 will not be much different from Android Lollipop based TouchWiz on the Galaxy Note 4, however the software will be leaner and faster, along with many more animations from Google’s latest design guidelines.

Which leads me to suspect it likely will be pretty much a repeat of the global unbranded Alpha. (Simply same thing minus preloaded apps)

Will have to wait to see ... Cautiously optimistic, very very cautiously.

Galaxy S6

why are they not counting Galaxy Apps as samsung apps?

Galaxy Apps is the Galaxy App Store where you download the additional Samsung Apps. Same as on S5 - Note 4 - Alpha etc...

However you are right, that in itself is a Samsung App, and basically undermines the 2 apps only stance.

I also suspect calendar app S-Planner and many others will be there too pre-installed. Which means they are not counting Samsung's System Apps either. So yeah it's just more hyperbole before unveil.
