I'm doing a hard reset right now. Being having reboots last couple of days, mainly when trying to apply the stock theme. It's getting really annoying.

Never happened before on Lollipop.

Just got an S6 from work. Is there anyway to disable the shake to undo 'feature?' It's really annoying and I've seen no settings to disable it. Please advise.

Btw, does anyone else ever hold the S6 in their hand and just enjoy how nice it feels? Not going back to it, but ...

I do :D

It's probably the best design and feel in hand I've ever had in a phone. Feels much better and more comfortable than, say, an iPhone 6S, which also has great build quality, but isn't as comfortable in the hand as the S6/S7.

BTW, just got yesterday the March security update on my S6. Hope this fixes the random reboots I've been having after the MM update. As of now, no more reboots.

Who are you on where you actually get the security patches?

What?

I didn't understand.

The match security patch was released for S7 and S6 a couple of days ago. My phone is unbranded European model.

Unlocked European model gets patched, I guess. In the states, we have to wait until our carrier of choice decides if they actually want to bother to push it. I have MM but Feb is the patch level.

Still no marshmallow. This is beyond ridiculous now.
Plenty of places have started the rollout

http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G920F/

If you're in the UK

The unbranded (BTU & XEU), Vodafone (VOD), Three (H3G), O2 (O2U) are all rolling out 6.0.1

Only Virgin & EE have yet to do so.

If you want the firmware now, you can simply download 6.0.1 firmware from Sammobile.com (you can flash the unbranded BTU) and manually flash it yourself and cut out the carriers. The BTU Firmware is also the first devices in the UK Region that Samsung will update / push out updates to.

It will NOT affect your warranty. It may not be the perfect solution to getting MM, but the solution is there.

It's a gipsy solution. The fact is this is *********.

It takes very little to do if this is frustrating you, certainly the time spent flashing your device NOW would be more productive at getting you to MM, than the time spent complaining and whining on forums and harbouring more hate for the device and company.

If you want it now... you have a solution

1. Will take an hour or two to download from their sammobile slow servers and 10 minutes to flash.

2. Or you can hang around the forum like a bad odur, disseminating the usual vitriol & more stink about something that you now have a remedy for.

Its your choice and one that clearly tests motive and will demonstrate which of those two things is more important to you.

This is an FYI, so that others don't make same mistake i did. This is an embarrassment to the word flagship.

Clearly we have the answer ... option 2 it is.

You're like the inversed Mich7y of this sub fora (opposing faces of the same coin) ... you & he should come together and form a boy band .... you could call yourselves FUD.

If you had a carrier locked version and didn't have a way to get the update, that'd be one thing. There are things to dislike about the S6, I'm sure, that don't involve making issues for yourself.

Even if your device is carrier locked (outside of america) you can still flash a firmware from Europe/other region or the unbranded firmware from your country. The only thing it won't do is 'get rid' of the sim lock to the carrier. That will still apply (your device will still be carrier locked) - but you can buy unlock codes for less than £15 - I got one for my week old S7e without too much trouble). :)

After using the GS6 Active for a week I am very happy with it. I didn't do anything today and really put the battery to the test.

I recently got an S6 to replace an S4 and to try out Gear VR. I purchased it used and it came with Marshmallow already installed.

One of the little things I'm happy about is I no longer have to put up with full screen album art on the lock screen (during music playback; a 'feature' of Android I hated). Is this removal of full screen album art a change that's specific to recent versions of touchwiz or is it related to Marshmallow and general to all Marshmallow phones?

The unbranded (BTU & XEU), Vodafone (VOD), Three (H3G), O2 (O2U) are all rolling out 6.0.1

My phone is unlocked, but how do I identify what carrier variant I have?

For me it appeared only last week on tuesday. I have no idea who can buy a phone for 600 bucks and be ok with this kind of "support".
I got mine last yr, so I'm happy with it, barely no difference to be honest, too much is made of updates. At least droid updates don't brick your devices lol.

Have you getting the monthly security patches?

It must be annoying to wait this long to get Marshmallow, but I think its more important for Samsung to stay on top of the monthly Android security patches. I've been receiving mine within a month of Google releasing them, which I'm happy with.

On lollipop i can remember 4 updates and marshmallow came already 6.0.1.

Android updates have bricked devices before. You get the nice little Android icon with an exclamation point in triangle above its chest. A quick search for "Marshmallow bricked" gets responses for the M8, Nexus 7, Nexus 9, Note 5, and Mi 3.
