Those Samsung execs are delusional. Stripping out features you can't get on the iPhone and overcharging on storage is gonna send buyers faster in the other direction to the fruit company.

Not really.I have a 64gb card in my gs5 and have less then 2gb on it.I used to load up all my songs but now just stream everything and pay for Google music.

I have my whole iTunes account and all my play lists on Google servers and could care less about local storage.

Having unlimited data plan is also a huge bonus.

Agree with skratch, nowadays everything is streamed anyway. In fact my current phone has 8GB only and I still got 2GB available :)

One thing to keep in mind when comparing android / Samsung to fruit phones. I can just plug an external 1TB drive into my phone if I want to - try that with an iPhone :)

Still considering the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge but if it is to expensive (like the iPhone 6 plus prices) then i might just buy the Xiaomi mi note pro (which looks better than both smartphones in my opinion).

Definitely a competitor now especially since Samsung ditched the microSD and removable battery. I think Samsung is shooting itself in the foot by overpricing the S6, rumors have it being slightly more expensive than the S5. There are too many less expensive options out there these days and while the S6 looks nice it's not really offering anything new. When you are the underdog you don't come out of the game more expensive.

My local BB usually gets in their demos before anyone in my area so that is where I'll check first. I'm pretty friendly with some of the reps there but those particular individuals were not in the store this morning. Maybe tomorrow I'll see one of them and I'll try to get some info when their demos are coming in.

That Mi Note pictured above looks like the Blu Vivo Air.

How much does it cost to import it to the US or Canada? Does Xiaomi honor warranties for consumers too? They say they won't sell their phones on their E-Commerce Site just yet, probably because they will get sued for IP infringement.

I use a LOT of local storage that cannot be replaced by cloud storage, at least not until I get home on WiFi. Specifically taking videos in high resolution takes a TON of space, many times over my internal memory. Trust me when you have kids you don't want to miss a moment. Although a single 64gb microSD is enough for me I could see occasions where I might even want to switch out multiple microSD's.

22 hours till Samsung Unpacked.

May as well hold off on speculation, because all will be revealed soon enough.

Samsung's youtube channel will have a live stream.

The screen on the edges is so dumb imo

Well like I said, the small details make all the difference. The bezels are nowhere near as big as those renders a few posts back. The home button is also evenly placed. This phone is gonna be gorgeous in person. Gorrila Glass 4 front and back. The edge is the real change in form factor I've been waiting for. Gonna keep my Note 4 and looking forward to the Note 5 more than ever now.

I still don't understand the benefit of the curved edges--that small bit of screen going off the edge and the distortion it would cause would drive me nuts. I didn't like the Note Edge but at least it offered some functionality. This seems to be compete form over function.

It's certainly the best looking Galaxy S device yet but I just don't see the point.

I agree too. I wonder how hard it will be to pick up on a flat surface with the curved glass like that? My 6+ is hard enough because it is thin. But then again maybe Samsung has this figured out. Maybe once seen in person this phone will put all these fears to rest?

Me too. I don't want to incur data charges or depend on signal strength to listen to music.

and forget tempered glass screen protectors either.

not necessarily. Manufacturers could easily change the mold to make the screen protectors curve down on both sides. the packaging would be much bulkier, but it's doable.

I agree too, and just like jamezr said it depends on signal strength. If you live in a big city then it's ok, except if you go underground.

Where I live the signal strength is low, so streaming is not an option.

If i am home the signal is fine but sometimes i have to go out of town to work. Right now im in Omaha working on a job across the border in Iowa and i have no signal. They dont have T-Mobile around here in Iowa so i have to roam on AT&T and it is hit and miss on that just to send texts and make calls so having the music on my phone is a must.

I do have a newborn son, which is why videos and pictures are uploaded to Dropbox automatically and then automatically transfered to our private online gallery ... Still no need for massive storage. Would never use my phone as sole location for precious pictures like that.

I need local storage for my music and videos. Firstly I only have 8GB of data a month so I couldn't rely on streaming alone. More importantly, a large part of my daily commute takes place on the tube (subway) where there is no signal so streaming would be useless to me. I think the minimum internal storage I can have is 64GB if there is no SD card slot. On my S5 I had filled a 64GB SD card and had to buy a 128 GB one. Granted I never filled that up up but that's what I needed to be comfortable. I maxed out both the 64GB iPhone 5S and the 64GB 6 plus in the short time I had it. I've now got a 128 GB 6 plus and I'm comfortable.

I'm all for doing away with the SD card slot if they are going to provide more options for internal storage e.g up to 128GB. These options also need to be available at the carriers too. Samsung often release 32GB versions of the S series but none of the carriers in the UK stock these, it's usually just the 16 GB version.

Yep. I also record a lot of 4K videos with my S5, so I need a lot of local storage. Right now I have a 32GB but pretty soon I'll need to buy a 64GB now.

Guys I can totally see using an SD card would help in your cases with capped bandwidth.I would probably move all my data also if it wasn't for my unlimited plan.

I think I read that the fcc ruled in favor in net nutrality and might force everyone to go back to unlimited data and not be able to throttle people.

I average 20-25GB a month and that is all from streaming music an hour at the gym every day.

My new thing now is YouTube play lists for music as the new app let's you play song videos like the Google music player but in the background so each song in that Playlist is like 200mb

Just noticed this but something is up with gmail.it used 4gb last month.
