Is this different from Samsung dive? Samsung dive has been around for years. Samsung dive let's you find your mobile.
I actually have my own 'find my phone' solution invented and currently awaiting patenting, in hope that I'll be on Dragons Den in the near future showing it off....

As I'm not insecure about it I'll share some details.

I call it MRU'S little person lost device finder, or LPLDF for short.

What I essentially do is hire a midget and with their consent (or not; in which case you can utilise MRU's patented water boarding toolkit available at any wallmart) I tether them to the handset via an unbreakable cable & padlock....

Should in the event of loss or stolen you simply dial your own mobile number and your midget employee can tell you were to find them.

This works perfectly. The one time my phone was lost (and as it turns out €200 from my wallet, my car keys and my car) I simply rang the number and my little employee answered giving me his location as a strippers bar - where I later recovered them minus the €200 clamoured between the sweaty thighs of a stripper called Betsy.

The strange thing is I've never been to a strip bar in my life so it's still unclear how my car, money, phone and midget ended up there....

So yeah still a few flaws but I'm working on them ;)

If anyone's interested I'm looking for a $200,000 investment for 20% shares in MRU'S LPLDF.....

The laptops you mention run Windows and therefore are not superior. In fact, they are damaged by a terrible operating system.

Quite the opposite. Heck the first thing I used to do when I used to buy Apple laptops was install windows. I'm glad the vast majority of the world uses that "terrible" operating system.

----------

It's a lost cause with that guy, dude. The s6 doesn't impress him. So be it. I don't know what phone will. He must be really disappointed when apple release their phones. They're nothing but updated hardware most of the time too.

If one really wants to go there in the discussion, any new phone is a meek update of just the latest hardware. Who cares about anything then?

And somehow he feels he's more impressed with the HTC one m9. I don't know how he can look at the s6 and really not understand why people are excited, and then look at the m9 and not understand how people aren't excited about it.

Whatever. Lol.

----------

Samsung put their best foot forward on nearly every front with this device. They sacrificed what they had to sacrifice to appease YEARS of build quality criticism. Waterproofing didn't help them sell more phones. In fact, it was their slowest year with the s5. They're giving us better battery technology both regarding power efficient parts and wireless/quick charging to address the non user replaceable battery.

Then everything else, they went all out. No holds bar. And it looks good while doing all this. And then there's the unique Edge.

Yet somehow, this is all a mystery to some people who can't find this device exciting.

Shrug.

I think he has a point in that the features he wants are missing. They may or may not be what makes Samsung money, but he's not going to buy it if they axed what he likes. Personally I'm still on the fence, the lack of external memory kind of kills it for me. I'm more of a Note guy and am just hoping that's not the direction they plan for the next Note.

The majority of users use a version of Windows from 2009. More recent versions are horrible. Windows 10 is a giant apology and still lacks any creative vision.

Please, continue to waste your money on a second rate operating system which people begrudgingly use. After all, I wouldn't want to put the employees of anti-virus and spyware companies out of business when users have a real operating system to work with.

I work at best buy, in the mobile department. And today my Samsung rep's boss was there and he just so happen to have an S6. It's kinda funny tho b/c I was with a customer and my Samsung rep comes and she hands me the phone and I completely stopped what I was doing b/c I couldn't belive that I was holding an S6. Yeah I'm a tech nerd, lol.

As for the phone, oh man this thing is beautiful. Easily the best looking Samsung device ever and I'm not kidding. Seeing this phone in videos and magazines is one thing. But to see it in person is an entire different experience. Like I said in my previous post, the camera on that thing is fast. You double tap on the home button and it'll launch it. While in the camera, if you slide your finger to the left you get all of the camera settings and whatnot. I kinda feel like Samsung also didn't go as crazy as they usually do with touch wiz. The display is beautiful as well. If you have a Note 4 or even a Tab S then you kinda know what to expect, which isn't a bad thing b/c both devices offer phenomenal displays. I also love how it feels in my hand. Not big or bulky and it feels sturdy. I did want the green one but man the white one is beautiful lol. Can't wait to get mine lol

Nice thanks for the info

Windows 8.1 is awesome, their best OS to date IMO. Windows 10 I'm not sold on yet as they tanked a lot of tablet only features, but since it's a technical preview we don't know yet if they are incorporating them back in. As for creative vision I think Microsoft leads them all in terms of the OS, although they have certainly made mistakes in both implementation and marketing. The start button fiasco is a terrible mistake that they refuse to correct, but 3 minutes downloading classic shell fixes that issue. I WILL continue to usefully use my money to buy a first rate system with a company that isn't afraid to think outside the box. I also don't buy the crap myth of more malware/viruses. If OsX is 8% of computers it's reasonable to assume it will be targeted much less for things like that, that's only common sense and not necessarily a stronger OS. Apple has had it's fair share of viruses as well, it's not pristine by any means.

I read one guy said the new S6 is supposed to have close to Note 2 battery life. If true that would be awesome but I believe when I see it.

I had the ATT Note 2 rooted on Custom ROM made for battery life, it was a beast and easily top battery phone for a good year or more. I would put my top battery phones in this order that I've owned, out of the 17 different smartphones I've owned the past 6 years.

- iPhone 6 Plus
- Note 2
- OnePlus One
- HTC One M8 GPE
- Nexus 6

My other 13 smartphones I've owned don't even belong on a great battery life list.

I am going to Best Buy later. This store is one of the first to get anything Samsung in my area. Anxious to see if the rep has an S6 to show.

What does the S6 offer? I counter with what do other manufacturers offer before the last besides incremental upgrades? :)

Got to play with a GS6 today at my job. Sweet phone. Definitely sold on it. Can't wait to get it. It's camera is awesome and fast. And the display is beautiful. You guys are gonna love it as much as I already do.

Which location/area do you work at Best Buy? I am on the east coast.

I hope the s6 will have phablet-like battery life too.

However you might be setting yourself up for disappointment if you continue comparing the s6 to phablets.

That's too bad. There's zero reason to go ultra thin 6.8 just for looks and sacrifice battery life. Why not go back to S3 size thickness and fit in a 50% larger battery.

Zero reasons? You may not agree with the reasons but zero????

But hey, the s6 is what it is. I always knew it would be polarizing if Samsung lost replaceable batteries. I personally think they made the right choice for where they are right now. It actually isn't surprising. I say again, Samsung saw a slow down in sales last year with the s5 and that had all the waterproofing and user battery replacement and SD card features. It didn't seem to work. And that was on top of already YEARS of criticism for better build quality. How could Samsung not change their tune to try to turn things around this year?

If you want phablet like battery life, you should get a phablet.

You keep playing this game where you are setting up the s6 for failure by comparing it to the wrong family of devices and then criticizing the s6 for those failures. I mean you're free to do what you want but you're setting yourself up for disappointment. And given your past posts about how much you apparently loathe the s6 and don't understand why any of us like it, it seems like you have ulterior motives. Not cool in my opinion.

I'm not sure why battery is much of a concern with 9 to 11 hours of screen time (according to GSMArena) and fast charging.

----------

I'm changing my stance on TouchWiz. After playing around with every major device at AT&T today, I think the Note 4 has the best UI -- even compared to stock Lollipop -- and the best screen. I'm very excited about replacing my iPhone with the S6.

Missed it by a day at BB as the rep who had the S6 in white and black was at the store yesterday.

Anyhow, the rep who was working today did see both of them and he figured whatever they did to the S6 he probably would stay with the Note 4. Not after he saw and played with one. Damn!

The snapdragon is gone from the US variant, right? He said the S6 was blazing fast, better than the Note.

That is only part of the equation. In order to use the new "kill-switch" security feature introduced in 5.1, you have to have 5.1. But it should work on any 5.1 device that was released with 5.0 or later, so it should work with the S6 at some point.

that's why you get cerberus cause it works with all version of android. plus it can do so much more than just a kill switch. and if your rooted it will not show up in your app drawer nor can it be deleted even if you do you factory reset.

Hmmm. Getting rid of what the iphone never had in the first place and two Samsung reps in different Best Buy stores saying we now have a Samsung iPhone. :)

Some of us aren't interested in rooting, plus having it as a standard feature on phones will reduce crime. Once word gets out that stolen Android phones are useless, people will stop targeting them. iPhone thefts have significantly decreased due to the security features introduced in iOS 7.

----------

I'm not sure if you've read up on the new 5.1 features -- it keeps someone from being able to wipe your phone and use it. Without your Google password a stolen phone will be useless.

I believe Samsung will address that market with the Active.

But yes, I'm not surprised by those up in arms about losing the key features that they loved about previous galaxy s phones. It would always be polarizing no matter which direction Samsung went. Like an earlier member said, they had to pick and choose what was most important and what the general public wanted more. Clearly given apples success and the years of criticisms Samsung had to take for their build quality, they went that way to address those concerns. I think it's the right move. Again, the s5 had the chance to prove to the world that the general user cares about user replaceable batteries and water proofing. It clearly didn't. Samsung made the right changes.

And again, because they have so many different products to address different needs they can create the Active.

Just playing devils advocate here. But really what does the S6 bring to the table that's so much more amazing than the S5 was a year ago ?

Better hardware and better camera are expected in the anual upgrades for a next gen phone.

No more water resistence. No more ss card. No more removable battery. Same Gingerbread looking Touchwiz, finally smooth because it needs insane super hardware to run it lag free, but still nowhere looking like a Nexus.

Early reviews point to average battery life. But nothing like the iPhone 6 Plus which shouid be the new standard all smartphones strive for IMO.

All I see is new build materials. Metal and glass vs. Polycarbonate, which once a case is wrapped around the phone becomes unnoticeable.

Not trying to be a d!ck here, but at the end of the day, what does the S6 do so much better or different than the S5 ?

I think you're not quite grasping the situation or the real question here. I have a Galaxy S4 that I had in the drawer for a couple months now that I had never quite got around to fixing the screen. My significant other just got an Iphone 6 a month ago.

Upon bringing the Galaxy S4 back, I am reminded that this thing fits real good in the hand, great screen and in decent light the camera kicks a its a great everyday phone. Seriously underrated.

So the real question that has been floating around in my head personally, is "how is it possible that the best-selling iPhone 6 has almost nothing on a two year old phone - and in fact remains behind on many dimensions"?

This you should really ask yourself I would suggest.

The Iphone 6 was an upgrade to their previous Apple device, forget the Apple is two year old android technology analogy. Apple users see a bigger phone with better specs, case closed.
