Just playing devils advocate here. But really what does the S6 bring to the table that's so much more amazing than the S5 was a year ago ?

Better hardware and better camera are expected in the anual upgrades for a next gen phone.

No more water resistence. No more ss card. No more removable battery. Same Gingerbread looking Touchwiz, finally smooth because it needs insane super hardware to run it lag free, but still nowhere looking like a Nexus.

Early reviews point to average battery life. But nothing like the iPhone 6 Plus which shouid be the new standard all smartphones strive for IMO.

All I see is new build materials. Metal and glass vs. Polycarbonate, which once a case is wrapped around the phone becomes unnoticeable.

Not trying to be a d!ck here, but at the end of the day, what does the S6 do so much better or different than the S5 ?

I would take the less then 45 min usage time the gs6 gets over the 6 plus any day over the 40 grams weight added .

The 6 plus is a heavy brick compared to the gs6

Built in Wireless charging
Builtin Samsung Pay (bought Loop Pay) works at ALL terminals that swipe.
Better camera
Fast charging 10minutes = 4 hours
I think the fastest SSD available (Samsung makes their own SSDs)
Better build and design.
Got rid of that flap on the bottom :)

And an even better screen display.

Personally i dont care about it being waterproof. That didnt trip my trigger on the S5 and in fact, i didnt like the idea of having to open and shut the flap everytime. I dont have good fingernails for that, lol...i bite em.

Stil, as ive said before the glass back is one thing i do hate.

I dont have a iP6 but id think the LG G2 or the OPO which may be even better should be the standard they shoot for. Those are amazing. I cant imagine the iP6 being as good as those.

Not the ip6 but the 6+ and yep it's battery easily bests even the G2 & OPO it's that good. It's better than any android device I've had and I've had quite a few ;) now of course were not talking by huge amounts but it does easily compare to the best of android.

The iPhone 6 (not +) is far worse performing than the 6+, Note 3/4, G2, OPO.

I really like the S6, but with that said I think you have a very valid point. I suppose Samsung just had to choose certain features, not all of them. I'm a sucker for nice hardware like the iPhone 6, but in the end always end up going back to functionality. I'm kinda afraid to see what the Note 5 will lose.

I'll definitely be waiting for more reviews before I judge. Some things in that review don't add up.

I'm thinking one of the better features might be a huge reduction in Touchwiz bloat, but who knows?

It's a lost cause with that guy, dude. The s6 doesn't impress him. So be it. I don't know what phone will. He must be really disappointed when apple release their phones. They're nothing but updated hardware most of the time too.

If one really wants to go there in the discussion, any new phone is a meek update of just the latest hardware. Who cares about anything then?

And somehow he feels he's more impressed with the HTC one m9. I don't know how he can look at the s6 and really not understand why people are excited, and then look at the m9 and not understand how people aren't excited about it.

Whatever. Lol.

----------

Samsung put their best foot forward on nearly every front with this device. They sacrificed what they had to sacrifice to appease YEARS of build quality criticism. Waterproofing didn't help them sell more phones. In fact, it was their slowest year with the s5. They're giving us better battery technology both regarding power efficient parts and wireless/quick charging to address the non user replaceable battery.

Then everything else, they went all out. No holds bar. And it looks good while doing all this. And then there's the unique Edge.

Yet somehow, this is all a mystery to some people who can't find this device exciting.

Shrug.

Anyone selling their Note 4 and getting the S6? I am beginning to think about it, but I want to try it out before I commit. Plus, I want to see the reviews perhaps. But the Note 4 value might tank. I have a mint condition unlocked 32 GB charcoal black I would try to offload.

Me too and why i dont mind plastic removable backs at all. Even if i dont get another battery i can get different back covers for very cheap. Id also prefer the Micro SD card.

The laptops you mention run Windows and therefore are not superior. In fact, they are damaged by a terrible operating system.

why is windows terrible?

i have windows 8.1 currently and theres no crashes, i don't use the metro ui whatsoever... i dont need a start button since i have icons on my desktop plus i can pin things to the taskbar, similar to the bar in osx.

all games run on windows, unlike osx... osx can't even run games well even when games support it.

nice try though.

Thought about it but I think I'll miss the larger screen. I'll try to hold out until the iPhone 6S plus and Note 5, but I always seem to get something during the summer, I just can't seem to hole out.

The screen for the Spen or for phablet experience?

More for the phablet expierence, multi window is already a pretty tight fit on a 5.7" inch, cant imagine it on a 5.1. though the spen is a nice bonus.

It's not too bad. I had a Galaxy S5 and it was straight with multi window. Only reason I have a Note 4 was because I got a full refund with the S5 having too many issues.

^^^ what it's ur job lol what are ur impressions?

I work at best buy, in the mobile department. And today my Samsung rep's boss was there and he just so happen to have an S6. It's kinda funny tho b/c I was with a customer and my Samsung rep comes and she hands me the phone and I completely stopped what I was doing b/c I couldn't belive that I was holding an S6. Yeah I'm a tech nerd, lol.

As for the phone, oh man this thing is beautiful. Easily the best looking Samsung device ever and I'm not kidding. Seeing this phone in videos and magazines is one thing. But to see it in person is an entire different experience. Like I said in my previous post, the camera on that thing is fast. You double tap on the home button and it'll launch it. While in the camera, if you slide your finger to the left you get all of the camera settings and whatnot. I kinda feel like Samsung also didn't go as crazy as they usually do with touch wiz. The display is beautiful as well. If you have a Note 4 or even a Tab S then you kinda know what to expect, which isn't a bad thing b/c both devices offer phenomenal displays. I also love how it feels in my hand. Not big or bulky and it feels sturdy. I did want the green one but man the white one is beautiful lol. Can't wait to get mine lol
