This is so done and over with......this theme is so old now...the rest of us have moved on from the whole "everyone copies Apple". They ALL borrow from each other and we as consumers benefit from it.

Everyone does not copy apple. HTC is a great example.

Not exactly true, its clear to see the M7 & M8 aesthetically strike a very Apple Mac aesthetic/resemblance. Indeed put one next to your MBP and it looks very Appleesque. Just because it seems more inspired from Mac hardware aesthetics over iOS device aesthetic does not hide the fact that there is clearly some design inspiration there. And why shouldn't there be? I have no doubt most of the designers will in all probability have been using Mac hardware and therefore draw on what is deemed very high quality technological industrial design.

As a graphics designer for the last 18 years I am still constantly inspired by good design from all over, no matter what product, and that inspiration invariably comes out in some form and were not talking about straight copying. Even when you are designing something 'new' you are invariably working with successful design conventions.

The M8 & M7 are beautiful phones, but are clearly taken some design skews from Apple.

The edge of the device looks interesting (if these are true):

Comparing to iPhone 6:

That edge looks sharp to me. Wonder if it'll make a difference in hand...

EDIT: Upon closer examination, it looks like those are buttons sticking out the sides.

Exactly glad you agree....looks like Apple copied the HTC M8 with the larger screen and metal unibody design on the IP6 looks a lot like the M8. BTW the HTC M8 was released before the IP6.

Being unibody does not mean you have to be the same. You're using the same irrelevant argument.

The only similarity between an htc one and iPhone is both use antenna lines, differently also.

Nope same large screen.....headphone jack on the bottom....buttons on the side......antenna breaks (as you pointed out) unibody metal design. Definitely the IP6 copied a lot from the HTC M7 and M8.

Hey lets not hijack this thread anymore.......

Everyone copied and borrows designs from each other.
We the consumer benefit greatly from this.....

I don't give a **** who copied who.

I care about results.
Those are my thoughts too. I want them all to borrow design and performance queues from eachother and produce some great devices! We all benefit from this......

This is what I think about when some moron start crying x copied y. Just enjoy your phone and be happy that such fierce competition breeds some awesome technology.

^This. HTC (speakers), Apple (sleek industrial design), and Samsung (display tech) to name a few, have all introduced hardware elements that are pushing the rest of the industry to keep up. If one design breeds fierce competition and yield improvements across the board in following generations, we all win.

So now Samsung copies the poorly-executed HTC M8 clone that is the iPhone 6.

I'll be over here if you need me me, using devices that don't look like crap.

Be sure to add I hope everyone designs/implements a TouchID clone for all phones.

I actual hope they don't copy the design but rather the efficiency. I love TouchID but its current implementation is partly why the iPhone has such large bezels. I'd love to see something that doesn't limit the design like the TouchID does. I don't know what that would be, maybe using the actual display?

I should have been clearer...I like TouchID. In my mind it is the best fingerprint process out there. I want the same functionality on every smartphone I buy! :)
I would love to see the sensor implemented into the screen somewhere. A designated spot on the screen instead of a home button. Nice to have on both Android and IOS.

The S6 is going to be a boom bust phone. From what I am reading and seeing, I am liking it so far even though I am not in the market for a new flagship phone. Near Nexus level UI helps quell the "Bloatwiz" comments. The camera will be even better than what the S5/Note 4 have. A better fingerprint scanner is a must. Refined build quality is a plus. A QHD screen on a small device screen makes the Note 4's sibling look even better than the S5 (hard to beat that killer 1080p design on AMOLED). A 64 bit processor + 3GB of RAM sounds sweet. What I don't like are the rumors of no removable battery. I don't mind anyone copying the Apple iPhone look. As an iOS and Android user, I think both can learn from each other. Apple didn't patent the idea of having a bottom speaker (dots, different story, but the grill location isn't something I can foresee as patent necessary). With the newer software, I can see the future of my Note 4 w/ updates. If not, I can always just go onto the Note 5 or iPhone 6S+.

Eden Hazard took a selfie with the GS6 today. You can see the back being the same as the concepts. Look on the Chelsea Football Club's Facebook page for the photo.

Looks nice, but doesn't really stand out from the crowd. Indeed ignore the metal rim entirely and you have every other Samsung device. It's certainly an improvement, just not a bold step and I wonder if that's going to be enough to stem the tide and drive S6 sales higher than S3 (S4 sold less than S3, S5 sold less than S4).

If it's great, no doubt I'll end up using one at some point, but right now from an aesthetics standpoint the M9 looks far more sexy imho.

However it's really with Touchwiz I'm more interested in seeing if they do what we all want them to do.

Yeah, having the screen be able to read the fingerprint no matter where you touch it would be the real game changer. It's gotta be just a matter of time.

Looks just like an iPhone 6. They even moved the headphone jack to the bottom and lined everything up just like the iPhone, wow.

The headphone jack has been on the bottom since the M7 2 years ago. The antenna breaks have been there for two years as well.

I can go +1 better...

My bottom has had a headphone jack for years ...

Though it must be faulty, all I get is the sound of wind & 'crap' music ;)
