Eden Hazard took a selfie with the GS6 today. You can see the back being the same as the concepts. Look on the Chelsea Football Club's Facebook page for the photo.

I don't think so, the camera flash is on the wrong side. I think it's actually a Galaxy Alpha--haven't seen it in blue but everything matches up.

Seriously it's a iPhone copy if that's it, even has the bezels. Rounded corners, ear phones, charger and speaker same, different shaped home button and ugly Samsung logo on the top the only difference.

Looks nice, but doesn't really stand out from the crowd. Indeed ignore the metal rim entirely and you have every other Samsung device. It's certainly an improvement, just not a bold step and I wonder if that's going to be enough to stem the tide and drive S6 sales higher than S3 (S4 sold less than S3, S5 sold less than S4).

If it's great, no doubt I'll end up using one at some point, but right now from an aesthetics standpoint the M9 looks far more sexy imho.

However it's really with Touchwiz I'm more interested in seeing if they do what we all want them to do.

Agree. Is it an improvement over the S5? IMO, hell yes. But I'm sorry, it looks like the offspring of an iPhone 5/5s (shape is exactly the same and smooth back panel) and an iPhone 6 (band design). And the giant raised camera is awful. I hate the little raised unit on the iPhone 6/6+ and this is infinitely worse.

It's great for a Samsung device but I personally find the rumored design of the M9 far better looking.

Edit: I don't know the source of these images--I'm assuming they're concept renders so hopefully this isn't exactly the design because those are unnecessarily large bezels. I really hope this isn't legit because it implies Samsung's idea of design strategy is just mimic aspects of the iPhone because people seem to like it.

Meh, looks like a very plain phone to me. Once again Samsung is the king of gaudy faux chrome or brushed aluminum surrounds and once again they have their overdone huge Samsung logo on the front and back, I wish others took the lesson from Apple where they have a sleek monolithic logo free front.

Speaking of Apple, I'm sorry but anyone who says this looks like an iPhone is blind. It looks like a conglomeration of the most boring phones of the past 3 years all put together. I like Samsung, I really do, but they really need MUCH more than this if they are going to staunch their heavy bleeding.

Latest report says Samsung apps like s-health and all that jazz will not be included in the next touch wiz with the s6. They'll be apps you can download from the Samsung app store on an as needed basis.

Less bloat.

Same report says latest touch wiz is light and fast as heck. Lollipop animations and all.

Hopeful for those Samsung fans.

Is the s6 going to lose waterproofing? Based on those renders it will.

S6 active again?

I hope they tweaked the screen to be more power efficient and brighter then the note 4 and also give it the same size battery

That would be a start but I also doubt it'll happen. Samsung wants you to use their functionality and leaving it off entirely defeats the purpose. They need to take a page out of Motorola's playbook--include really useful features and functionality without weighing down the UI.

And in my experience, while manufacturer 'bloat ware' can be annoying, it's the carrier bloat that really ruins the experience, at least here in the US. Samsung needs to offer developer or unlocked versions of their devices as Moto and HTC do.

Won't be buying it because it's a Samsung, I hate the way they fill it with bloat ware, and the way they take so long to offer firmware, and OS upgrades, my android phones are up for replacement this year, so will go for the nexus 6. My S4 has a cracked screen from a fall of less the 18 inches, and is stuck on 4.4.2, my nexus has survived intact from larger falls, and is running 5.0.1.

Yeah it just looks so god damn GENERIC. The Galaxy line only has a tiny bit of personality and IMO so far it comes out best in the Note handsets.

The same goes for TouchWiz. Aesthetically, most of it just looks like placeholder graphics (when it's not just plain garish of course).

When will Samsung realise or accept that a confident, unique design aesthetic would do more for their sales than all the bent screens, desperate youtube ads or new handset varieties in the world? Honestly, that can't be more than a competent design team away - which in the end comes down to just willpower and money, of which they at least are not lacking the latter.

Looks more like a Sony Z3 than an iphone 6.

Whatever people say about the generic looks, it will still be the best looking Samsung phone ever made. Mind you the S5 ranks as one of the ugliest smartphones ever made followed by the S4.

Samsung are moving in the right direction.

This is all subjective in the end of course, but IMO the Note 4 looks much better than this supposed S6.

It doesn't look particularly good to me, or bad either, just very Samsung like boring. Now I'm ok with that if it "feels" good, all I can compare to that is the iPhone and to a lesser extent the Note 4. The thing is in this market you have to differentiate yourself. Either you differentiate through price, or with an expensive flagship like the S6 you differentiate with features and aesthetics. Someone with $699 to burn is going to want to be wowed and I don't see the S6 wowing anyone, at least according to the rumored renders.

you guys can at least wait for the S6 to be revealed before you knock it rather than basing it off a leaked aluminum frame and some artist renderings of what they think the phone looks like.

Well, that wouldn't be any fun if we could only talk about a device after it's revealed/released.

Do you see the word 'rumors' in the forum title somewhere. I think that allows us to comment on them ;):p

Personally, I think the S# is pretty much toast.....the Note is where it's at for Samsung.

I'd love to know - how many of you Samsung fans go for the GS# as opposed to how many wait for the Note every year?

(MRU - you buy everything so you don't count =P)

Apparently, with S6, there is going to be less bloatware and whatever the phone has will be completely removable (without needing root access). Plus, few rumor articles suggested that Touchwiz will be trimmed down a lot to match performance level of Nexus 6. Only time will tell.

I really have no interest in the note line fwiw and would consider sticking with the S series.

I'm not so sure how I feel about these S6 rumors yet, depends on how many hardware features they have removed. They do appear to be losing differentiation btw other OEMS, aside from the note line, like you say

I own a Note 4 mainly because I did not want to pay the price they wanted for the edge. I never really liked to look of the Note 4 vs the Sonys and Iphones. To me the Note 4 is effectively a prototype of Samsung eventually producing an all metal phone. The rear of the note 4 is a mish mash of design and truely awful. Yes this opinion is subjective.

I expect the Note 5 and Note Edge 2 to be very nice looking phones and unibody aluminium if not glass and alu.

I agree that the new iPhones and Xperia Z phones look better than the Note 4. Those represent careful aesthetic design on a whole other level. But if the Note 5 takes its design cues from these supposed S6 pics then I will be disappointed. The Note 4 has much more character and personality IMO.

But yeah, all this is subjective in the end so I guess this discussion is largely useless.........and I dont hold it against you that your taste is different from mine :)
