The headphone jack has been on the bottom since the M7 2 years ago. The antenna breaks have been there for two years as well.

M7? This is the GALAXY S6, wrong company there. The headphone jack has always been on the top of the S line, now its at the bottom and the layout is an exact copy of the iPhone 6. But its Samsung, I wouldn't expect anything less than a copy of the iPhone.

Personally, I think the S# is pretty much toast.....the Note is where it's at for Samsung.

I'd love to know - how many of you Samsung fans go for the GS# as opposed to how many wait for the Note every year?

(MRU - you buy everything so you don't count =P)

I'll never buy a Note. They are too big.

Bunch of whiners in this thread Its been reported numerous times that there won't be any Samsung bloat on this and today it's reported that there won't be any Touchwiz either. Who cares if some of you don't like Samsung and it b
has a bottom headphone jack. Then don't buy it! Like Apple hasnt copied anyone, lol. I've had two and liked them both and just might get the GS minus the bloat and TW. I like that it is 5.1" and since the Nexus 6 is a ridiculous 6", GS6 it is.

The S6 is rumored to have a fixed back, like the iPhone and HTC One series. No removable battery anymore.

And with the rumored small 2600mAh sized battery, plus a high res battery draining 2K display, I just don't see how the S6 will have great battery life, anywhere near the 6 Plus or OnePlus One. I bet the S6 will be on par with the standard small iPhone 6 for battery, meaning just ok, not great, not bad, but enough to get through 3/4 of a day, but nothing more.

The note is the better phone but the S usually sells the most.

I haven't bought the current note ....yet.

Nice looking design. Very clean lines and shape. Looks like it will be quite comfortable in the hand in terms of feel.

Two more weeks till reveal.

Based upon renders, I think Samsung made 2 right choices:

1. Going down in size instead of up. The 5" display is truly the pound for pound best size. The ergonomics should feel svelte to a wide array of users

2. Metal and glass. This combo just works in terms of quality feel.

I also think it looks better than the iPhone 6.

Less than 2 weeks now#. I'm working an early shift that day. Finish at 3 so I'll be back in good time to live stream the announcement.

Looks just like an iPhone 6. They even moved the headphone jack to the bottom and lined everything up just like the iPhone, wow.
Yeah I thought that. The edge looks like an iPhone 6 but the front and back are still very Samsung. I would be a little surprised if they go down this route considering they haven't used any aesthetic similarities to the iPhone for a few years now. The perforated speaker holes make the similarity more obvious IMO. Still it is a nice looking phone and looks like it has a solid build to it. Then again this is a concept render and the real S6 might look vastly different.:)

Speaker and headphone jack on the bottom works super well. I would welcome that change.

The real treat will be the Note 5 with this same DNA.

I also like the symmetrical lines and clean shape.

The render shows the edge designs are quite different

Of course. I put my phone in my pocket upside down so this would make sense as the phone is then upright when you take it out. I never understood why a headphone jack was on the top of my previous phones.

No doubt the bigger phones will get better upgrades again. I don't get as excited about those as they are instantly ruled out for me because they are so big. :)

It does look very nice and yes they are different, but in my opinion they are similar enough for the association to be seen. The fact these devices compete in the same market makes the comparison more obvious and likely.

I've ben using the 6 plus for three months and I'm still not used to the headphone jack being on the bottom. The top just feels so right to me. On the bottom feels awkward as I have to put my phone in my pocket upside down. I prefer putting it in the right way up.

I don't understand that argument.

When it's in your pocket how does your pocket know it's upside down or not ?

Schrodingers Cat springs to mind.

It makes sense for it to be upside down in my pocket because it means when I pull the phone out it is the right way up to use. It makes it easier if you only have one hand free for instance.

I like the S6 design. A lot of people are on the fringe about Samsung lately. I think if they do a proper debloat, improve battery life, add more needed features, then they can sell more devices. I mean you shouldn't have to buy a phablet to have the expectation of good battery life in a flagship. The problem with Samsung is the UI being too resource intensive. Is there a way to expand on easy mode to dumb down the phone for iPhone users lol since some cannot deal with Android?

Looking at that render I'm with you. I've always thought apple took a wrong turn with the design of the iPhone 6.

Most sensible and mature post I've read in this thread. Instead of giving flack to Samsung (as others have) about them copying the design, you recognize that doing so is for the better. I too miss the bottom earphone port of my iPhone 6 (the oneplus port is on top).

This list below scares me, I'd like to go back to a S phone, but not sure;

- Battery life on par with the 6 Plus or OnePlus One ? ( The S6 will have the smallest sized battery of 2015 in an Android phone, but also have the highest resolution and DPI screen which means battery drainer ) I am not hopeful for good battery life on the S6, I bet it's average at best.

- Will Touchwiz not be such a hog ? I hope the rumors are true of a Nexus like smooth OS, but I'll believe it when I see it.

- Fixed battery scares me, it will have a sealed in back like the iPhone and HTC.

- I hope the fingerprint thumb button works like the iPhone 6 ? Just hold it on the button for a second and it works. Where as the Note 4 and S5 have this silly slide down the screen and then the button, which is so stupid.

- Rumors of no more waterproof like the S5 this time, which sucks.

- Root and unlocked bootloader ? Very doubtful :(

Glass back rumors? That would be awesome. I think the iPhone 4 was the last premium feeling phone out there. Samsung please rethink your accent touches, no gaudy chrome strips, no huge gaudy Samsung logo on the front, and don't do that awful moire pattern on the bezel like the Note 4. Just give us a nice black bezel that matches the screen turned off, some black or dark silver matte surround and a glass back, and no logo on the front or at least tone it down a bit.

Front speakers would be awesome as well. I'm confused why every phone maker doesn't do this, makes a huge difference. Make the FP sensor touch based without having to slide like the iPhones. Debloat touchwiz.

I do have a dream wish though, that they incorporate a digitizer like the Note 4. I know it would eat into Note 4 sales, but really it's the same strategy as Apple who has one large and one small of the same phone. Samsung should concentrate on less models anyway and I think they would do GREAT with 3 phones, a small Note type phone would be the S6, a large phablets like the Note 5, and probably a cheaper alpha type phone for the cheaper markets.

New report today from a teaser says the S6 will be lightning fast. Let's hope it's true, but I'll believe it when I see it.

New design looks great.

They also say battery size will be slightly smaller than S5 (2600) because the S6 is thinner (therefore it possibly has fixed battery inside).

I'm not sure if I'll buy another Sammy device, not unless they offer an unlocked/dev version like HTC. My S5 was great stock, but rooted and running Dynamickat it's so fast and slick. Everything is better, even the incredibly good battery life when it was stock is even better lol. I have a feeling I'll go Sony next as the water resistance is pry my favorite thing about this phone, priceless and have no worries as we live in South FL and are always around or doing something with water, from our pool to boating and fishing even in rough weather = getting soaked, take the paddle boards out and just stick the phone in my pocket with not a care, not like before where I'd have to put the phone in a nuclear bomb proof case that was a complete pita to use and then place inside double zip bags to be safe.

If they make an active version, just hope they don't gimp it like before.

If those renders are true, it would easily be the best looking Samsung device they've ever made.

I hope the Note 5 follows the same design.

Though why do they insist on slapping the Samsung logo on the front of the device? Isn't having it on the back enough?

I still prefer the iPhone 6/6+ design though - I'm a big fan of the taped glass edges that roll into the curve of the metal sides and back. Makes the device look and feel slimmer than it is - also makes the side bezels look almost non-existent.

But kudos to Samsung. Still think there's some Apple influence in these pics - but they've adapted it to their own "Samsung" language.

EDIT: I am curious where all the bezel-freaks are though....people who bash the iPhone for its large bezels...the top and bottom bezels in these renders are the same size....

Am i the only one who thinks the off centred button on the S6 in this shot is absolutely horrid aesthetically ?

Also why such a big bezel for the bottom - either reduce it or centre the button ? It's bigger than the iPhone 6's and that has a bigger home button.

ok I'll fix it with photoshop. Now it's centred and looks better.
