I do like the leaked designs of the S6, the rounded smooth metal corners and shape look really nice  Yes it's like my 6 Plus in design, but that's fine with me, the iPhone 6 is great in the hand, and rounded smooth handsets are just easier and more comfortable to hold. Even the HTC One M8 with it's rounded design felt great in the hand.

Where as the Note 4 feels too sharp and rectangular IMO and not good to me. I can only imagine a Note 5 based on these leaked S6 design style, imagine a 5.7" device, with those rounded soft corners and shape :D And being thin, but still like a 3,300mAh battery. I can dream of a Note 5 like that, and with a revamped Touchwiz, could be a beast.

But I have to pass on this S6, as battery life will not be up to my standards. I am sure it will be fine for most people. But for me a hardcore user, that requires at least 6h On Screen time per day, the S6 I am sure will not cut it. My old OnePlus One was getting me 7h On Screen time per day, and I still killed the battery by bedtime almost everyday. My JB 6 Plus is even better on battery life than my OPO. So anything less than those two phones is a major downgrade in battery I can't accept.

EDIT: I am curious where all the bezel-freaks are though....people who bash the iPhone for its large bezels...the top and bottom bezels in these renders are the same size....

I was actually kinda wondering where the bezel patrol was hiding as well.

Haha... bezel patrol

OK, top and bottom bezels on this S6 mockup are ridiculous big, wouldn't buy it this way...

The bezels on my 6+ are huge! The mockup on the S6 look big but..it is a mock up....i will wait to see the real thing....The key word here is mock up.

If those renders are true, it would easily be the best looking Samsung device they've ever made.

I hope the Note 5 follows the same design.

Though why do they insist on slapping the Samsung logo on the front of the device? Isn't having it on the back enough?

I still prefer the iPhone 6/6+ design though - I'm a big fan of the taped glass edges that roll into the curve of the metal sides and back. Makes the device look and feel slimmer than it is - also makes the side bezels look almost non-existent.

But kudos to Samsung. Still think there's some Apple influence in these pics - but they've adapted it to their own "Samsung" language.

EDIT: I am curious where all the bezel-freaks are though....people who bash the iPhone for its large bezels...the top and bottom bezels in these renders are the same size....

Yep same bezels as iPhone which I don't mind as I have a 6, funny some of those bezel bashers on here now have a iPhone 6 plus, also agree with the Samsung logo on the front but ugly.

----------

I'm not sure if I'll buy another Sammy device, not unless they offer an unlocked/dev version like HTC. My S5 was great stock, but rooted and running Dynamickat it's so fast and slick. Everything is better, even the incredibly good battery life when it was stock is even better lol. I have a feeling I'll go Sony next as the water resistance is pry my favorite thing about this phone, priceless and have no worries as we live in South FL and are always around or doing something with water, from our pool to boating and fishing even in rough weather = getting soaked, take the paddle boards out and just stick the phone in my pocket with not a care, not like before where I'd have to put the phone in a nuclear bomb proof case that was a complete pita to use and then place inside double zip bags to be safe.

If they make an active version, just hope they don't gimp it like before.

I live coastal too and have read on another forum People have had problems with Sony not giving warranty if
their phones have been in Salt water, pools or ocean. Only fresh water.

Am i the only one who thinks the off centred button on the S6 in this shot is absolutely horrid aesthetically ?

It looks incredibly bad. I literally get shivers and not of the good kind.

Also why such a big bezel for the bottom - either reduce it or centre the button ? It's bigger than the iPhone 6's and that has a bigger home button.

Yeah...I thought the bezels on the iP6 looked big but these are freaking HUGE. And yes at least the bottom bezel on the iP6 is kind of filled by the big home button. The top bezel on the S6 looks terrible too, with that tiny speaker and unnecessary logo.

I'll say it again: this is non-design at it's worst. Samsung phones just look generic, an arbitrary shape just thrown together to house the components. Like noone even tried to shape it. Just look at that horribly dated square camera housing on the back, with matching gaudy flash cutout.

And with the S6, it just gets more generic than ever.

Do they even have one single designer in their mobile division? I honestly wonder.

I really like a home button like the Z1, it means they can do a fingerprint sensor like the iPhone where you click and keep your finger pressed for a millisecond. I hope they consider this. I like the metal surround also, not too flashy. Of course they ruin it with the huge Samsung logo, but I guess we are stuck with that.

I gladly moved up from the GS4 to the Note 4, I wouldn't consider a smaller screen phone again and I'm really happy with the Note 4. Looking at these mock ups for the Galaxy S6, I don't like it.

Unnecessarily thin. What's the point when you have to include a smaller battery? Sure, the 14nm SoC will make it far more efficient and it will probably have a bettery life similar to the Galaxy S5, if not slightly better. But I would take a thicker phone any time, with a larger battery. I still don't get this obsession about making phones so thin.

Non removable battery on top of things? That's definitely a move in the wrong direction for me...... Those bezels look even larger than what the Galaxy S5 had, and apparently there is no water proofing. Not that I cared for it, but it made a little sense for the GS5. Seems completely odd now, even if it was done for the fingerprint scanner.

I'm sure that the Galaxy S6 will have a lot going for it, but it definitely isn't a phone I would buy. I guess I'm only looking forward to the Galaxy S6 Edge more. But I'm extremely happy with the Note 4 and I don't plan on buying any of these phones anyways.

I do plan to buy a new phone near the end of 2016. I do hope that Project Ara does take of, and by then, it is a tried and true phone. I can see my self happily buying a phone in which I can change the battery, CPU, GPU, camera sensor, body and screen at free will. It would be great to have a phone be as upgradable as a computer is.

I think this is samsungs best looking phone and hope it looks exactly like this!

Samsung fixed everything people complained about.

Full aluminum build
got rid of bandaid back
kept the cut lines around the edge from the note 4/alpha
rounded the rest of the edges for the people that said it felt sharp to hold.
kept sd card.
got rid of water proofing to make thinner.
I read the 14nm is 30-35% more power efficient and the screen is 14% better then the older tech used in the note 4.it's using new blue and red pixels and will also help in power saving.

Its like samsungs read what I wanted and made the cell exactly the way I want it.

Here is a closer look vs the note 4. And for the people that like the note 4 it is nothing but an evolution of that phone and looks very close to it minus the ruff edges.

That's the Alpha. Note 4 has a leather like textured back. And has the flash and heart rate sensor below the camera.

The alpha isn't enough IMO, Samsung needs to get rid of the plastic back. Glass would be pretty awesome IMO.

I was excited for the S6 but the prospects of a higher rez screen with smaller non-removable battery and potential loss of IP67 certification have me apprehensive about it. While the S5 was not a hit by any means, I think they should continue to build off that vs suddenly going the other way (for build quality).

It seems Samsung can't win. No matter what they do they get criticized for it.
They got bad press for the plastic...rumor is they will have a glass back for the S6 and still get criticized.....
They got bad press and feedback from consumers for the flip cover on the charging port. So rumor is they will remove the flap and lose IP67 certification. Yet still will get criticized......seems they can't win because people will complain one way or another.
People want better build quality but when they get a better build they complain they will lose what prevented a better build in the previous model.

For me...i would rather have a optimized TW that uses less resources and enhances the user experience. Then the better build materials is just bonus!

I've never been a fan of their build quality so better build quality would be nice, then again I don't use a phone based on how it feels. I use it based on how it performs and what it can do. The majority of the Touchwiz software I can do without but there are usually a couple of things that I really like (multi-tasking & camera on the S5) which is what I like about Samsung. The charging port cover was great too for me. Having kids and being able to take my device to the waterpark without fear of water is great.

From the rumors so far the back is either metallic or glass

That would be awesome, can't wait to see what happens.

Yeah I think optimizing TW is a priority. Build quality should be improved, but they did take a huge step with the Note 4 IMO. Quality control should also be enforced as in my experience Samsung phones have shoddy QC, I've had way way more warranty issues with Samsung phones over the years than any other phone maker. Also important to note is the warranty process is terrible, send your phone to Texas and wait 2 weeks to maybe have them figure out the issue versus Apple where you walk into the store, and walk out with a new one. THIS is a huge deciding factor for tons of consumers and should be looked at. I don't know why the Samsung experience centers couldn't be made into warranty exchange centers to compete with Apple.

When the video card went out on my son's S4 after almost a year of use....I just walked into a AT&T corp store and walked out with a replacement in 15 minutes......
