Another clue that the Galaxy S6 will feature a 2,600-mAh battery
http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-s6-battery-capacity-588376/

Why would Samsung reduce the battery size of the Galaxy S6? The answer may lie in the phone’s sealed construction and 6.9-millimeter profile. These design constraints probably forced Samsung to shave off the size, and implicitly the capacity, of the battery inside the S6.

In theory, the 14nm Exynos processor expected to power the Galaxy S6 should consume less power than previous generations, partially offsetting the decreased battery capacity. Then again, the reverse applies for the Quad HD screen, because higher resolutions translate into higher consumption. So we’ll have to evaluate the entire package before we can issue a judgment on the Galaxy S6’s battery life. And that will only be possible after March 1, when Samsung will lift the veil of the S6 and S6 Edge at its MWC event.

You have to also consider that they're going to apparently set the standard for wireless charging. So charging will be easier.

That doesn't really help road warriors where time between necessary charges is critical.

I hope Samsung isn't pulling an Apple and letting form kneecap function. Battery life should be better than the S5.

One thing they did not think of: How to pick it up from the table with that edge design? It will slip. Even an iPhone 6 is hard to pick up without cover compared to an iPhone 5 for example.

I was thinking the same thing. My 6+ is hard enough to pick up without a case. The dual edge would seem like it would be hard to pick too....

Are the reports true about the web browser reloading if multiple tabs are open? I think that would annoy the heck out of me and was one of the major reasons I ditched the iPhone 6+.

It seems this will be a phone for iPhone users, not for other people: nanoSIM and integrated battery.

I don't think that many consumers care about removable battery, personally I could care less. The trend has been definitely going towards integrated batteries and there doesn't seem to be any public outcry. As for nanosim I'm not sure why anyone would care.

You underestimate the number of people that buy Samsung because of the removable batteries. And the whole SIM mess is Apple's fault.

And the stupid integrated battery trend is also Apple's fault.

And the stupid no-SD trend.

And the stupid native instead of Java trend.

I gladly moved up from the GS4 to the Note 4, I wouldn't consider a smaller screen phone again and I'm really happy with the Note 4. Looking at these mock ups for the Galaxy S6, I don't like it.

Unnecessarily thin. What's the point when you have to include a smaller battery? Sure, the 14nm SoC will make it far more efficient and it will probably have a bettery life similar to the Galaxy S5, if not slightly better. But I would take a thicker phone any time, with a larger battery. I still don't get this obsession about making phones so thin.

Non removable battery on top of things? That's definitely a move in the wrong direction for me...... Those bezels look even larger than what the Galaxy S5 had, and apparently there is no water proofing. Not that I cared for it, but it made a little sense for the GS5. Seems completely odd now, even if it was done for the fingerprint scanner.

I'm sure that the Galaxy S6 will have a lot going for it, but it definitely isn't a phone I would buy. I guess I'm only looking forward to the Galaxy S6 Edge more. But I'm extremely happy with the Note 4 and I don't plan on buying any of these phones anyways.

I do plan to buy a new phone near the end of 2016. I do hope that Project Ara does take of, and by then, it is a tried and true phone. I can see my self happily buying a phone in which I can change the battery, CPU, GPU, camera sensor, body and screen at free will. It would be great to have a phone be as upgradable as a computer is.

To each their own i guess. I do agree that the obsessin with thinness is ridiculous. I dont care for really thin phones and since it ill have a metal back(aluminum) that means it will have to be in a case full time anyways ....for me anyways. I dont care for metal backs because they are very slippery and i drop them way to much. So, that will take the thinness out of it for me.

The water proofing isnt something i care about and prefer i didnt have to open the charging latch all time anyways. Annoying since i dont have the fingernails to mess with it all the time.

IMO, great looking phone and i cant wait to get back to a Samsung Galaxy phone without the bloat. My nexus 5 is a good phone but i hate the lack of volume it has from the external speaker. I saw that the GS6 will be 5.1" but if it is 5" thats cool too but wish the bezels were smaller to make it not so unnessesarily long.

No they dont. I prefer it and imo a glass back would be just awful. That is the worst thing they can do if you ask me.

Ugh those plastic backs are awful, and we wonder why the s5 had such abysmal sales. Metal or glass would be nice and give the S6 the premium "feel" it so desperately needs. We'll see next week though what they are planning.

Maybe, I haven't personally studied the research showing how many consumers actually want a removable battery versus all the other phone makers like Apple, HTC, LG, Sony, etc etc. For me I don't find much use though, battery life is so nice now it's almost impossible to find a phone that lasts less than a full day and with things like adaptive fast charger that give you 50% charge in 30 minutes makes removable batteries obsolete. I'm NOT saying they don't serve a valid function, as in your case, I'm just saying that IMO most consumers don't care anymore.

Man samsung can't do anything right.for the last 3 years it's been criticized for its cheap plastic bandaid backs and it finally goes unibody and all metal like the phones people would constantly compare it to for better build quality and they get crap for it.

The nano sim card came with the alpha and jumped ship to the note 4.what's wrong with samsung using it on the gs6 all of a sudden?

I had my new S5 for a couple of weeks. I have seen now that I run out of juice in 13 hours, so I have to buy an extra battery. But without the practicality of BlackBerry's chargers.

I refused to buy a newer BlackBerry because since the Z30 they all have integrated batteries (and I don't want a screen-reducing physical keyboard).

I did not care checking out the Alpha because it's crippled and the Note 4 because it's huge.

Yeah I can see where a removable battery would be nice in your case. Do you have the option during the day to connect to a wall outlet or car charger? I've found the 50% in 30 minutes on my Note 4 to be an insane function if I need the juice, which I rarely do. Also have you tried the power saver modes on the S5? I'm assuming they are similar to the ones on the Note 4, which are crazy. I think with the ultimate power saver is supposed to last all day with 10% or something insane like that. I guess my point is there are solutions which may work for some.

It isnt because of that. Ill take a plastic back over aluminum everyday. It felt pretty good to me and IMO the pastic back of the Note 4 is awesome. Asside from the first iPhone, ive never had another aluminum back phone since, ...but i will buy the GS6 unless it has someting that is revealed to be a deal breaker. I dont prefer the metal back but ill just have a case on it at all times.

This confuses me as well. Apple has metallic backed phones, no removable battery, no sd card, nano sims, etc and still sells millions upon millions.

Also what's the deal with nano sims, why are some against them? Does it matter? You stick it in and forget about it.
