I will be updating my S7 for the security patches, but it's going to be use primarily for VR now unless the S8 offers a significant advantage at the time. Rather let the S7 run through wifi and airplane mode simultaneously. I'll trade it in for another device later this year. It's going to be semi-retired though.
Mine will continue to be a daily driver for at least the next year or as long as this battery continues to be amazing at least.

To be fair, you have the S7 Edge, so battery life on that is a lot better haha.

I keep forgetting you have the Flat. Yes, I guess that helps, lol!

I've never had a phone with such a huge battery, so I'm hoping whatever I get next also has a similar battery setup e.g. more capacity than really required, LOL. Samsung could have honestly cheaped out and went 3200mAh in the S7 Edge, but they went all in, and I am grateful to whoever put that through the accountants, lol!

The $480 price at T-mobile for the S7 Edge is pretty tempting. I just had to return a new SE primarily as I could not adapt to the tiny screen like I thought I could. So, it's back to the ol' 5.5" G3 for the time being.

The Galaxy S7 Edge should be easier for you to handle Vs. the LG G3, here is a size comparison, the S7 Edge is taller but Narrower and Thinner than the G3, so it will be easier in the hand.

If you find that you are not a fan of the Edge, have a look at the normal S7, it has a 5.1inch Display, and is all round smaller than G3.

Got the Update yesterday.

Still loving this phone, tried an S8+ the other day, likes it's size but apparently it's not reaching the sort of Battery Life the S7 Edge does, so I'm quite happy to keep going with this until the Note 8 or Note 9.

The S7 Edge is otherwise fine, but I'd really like the ability to switch the back button to the correct side and USB-C charging. Oh well, I'll wait a bit more to see what comes out :)

After 2 weeks with S8 and S8+ i am back on S7 Edge.

Must be something wrong with me but i think the S7 Edge is a better device for me.

- Wide Angle Front Cam
- Fingerprint Sensor on the Front
- 3600 mAh Battery
- Fast Charge is quicker on S7 Edge
- Exynos S7 Edge very similar in Perfomance
- No Bixby Button
- Perfect Display, no need to adjust white balance for pinkish and greenish edges
- True 16:9 Display, no cropped videos or big black bars on youtube videos
- Payed 350€ for a new S7 Edge, less than the half of a S8
- Software with Android 7.0 is nearly the same

Waiting for Note 8 now.

Realistically the S8 and S8+ seem to be aimed at people who were S6/6 Edge users, not really us S7/7 Edge users.

I've been reading and watching videos of the S8+ and also went to give it a go, great as it is I felt the same way, the S7 Edge to me felt like a better device for now, until we start seeing more 18:9 content.

The larger battery with smaller Display of S7 Edge really makes it almost the "perfect Phone", although it's not without its own shortcomings.

As the saying goes: he who hesitates is lost.

I didn't get on that inventory depletion sale at Tmobile for the S7 edge ($480) and it now appears the inventory is depleted. I just checked the website and the Edge is no longer even listed. Battery life is high priority to me as I've need to boost capacity on other phones, so the Edge would've made a good upgrade from my PowerBear-enhanced G3. Oh well. Ya snooze, ya lose.

I can't seem to figure out if Samsung could give me an unlock code for my S7 that I bought directly from them.
