By the way, all the videos posted showing Apple the clear "winner" with a 8 month old phone in comparison. If it was really a competition, I'd be cheering for that team. But I don't cheer or slag corporations. That is just stupid. I just think the customers should get the best product possible. And in truth, maybe this is not the final product yet. Release day afterall isn't officially until the 11th.
Clear winner? Beyond the suspect nature of a those videos.... The galaxy opened several applications quicker. It didn't open some of the game as fast, but a few of those videos clearly demonstrated that the iPhone had opened said game before, while the galaxy had not.
I mean, are we really calling the iPhone a winner because it can rapidly reopen 12 applications a few second quicker? Who does that? I can make the argument that the speed of a cold boot or delayed opening of an app is more important.
Let's also try not to forget the nature of iOS multitasking, which has been detailed here. It's not true multitasking. It has some sure advantages, yet it's disadvantages are overlooked.
During my time with the 6s plus, one of the biggest disadvantages of this method of multitasking was a real hamper to myself. I like to run long distance. I use my phone, paired with some Bluetooth headphones, to track my run and play my music/podcast. If I ever started a run, and forgot to leave the run tracking app open in the foreground...IOS would kill it mid run, and i would loose track of my run. This never happens with Android. Period. Again...advantages and disadvantages.
The galaxy is faster several things, and the iPhone others, I'm sure. This comes down to hardware, OS, and app optimisation. You can't open temple run and declare a winner. You know what one can do? Real life usage scenarios. Which phone is quicker to snap a picture of a moment? The galaxy. Which one has more consistent battery life? The iPhone (pre marshmallow at least). Which one can I freely use when caight in the rain tailgating, or on a run? The galaxy. Which one can open the application I need fast, reliabilly, and get the job done? Um....both.
What's the point of these comparisons again?
Can we get back to talking about what matters? Like the user reviews of the phone?
