So I have had the Note 8 for about 4 months so far.
I can say I like it equally or almost as equally as the last iPhone I had.

Couple things is I never use the pen, nor do I think I need the dual cameras or this much screen space.

I am thinking about making the switch back to the iPhone or maybe going for the smaller s9.

I miss the Apple ease of use, but I like the look of the Samsung watch and the customization of the Galaxy series.
I also think I would perfer the Air Pods of the X....

So in a couple of days I will make a decision....

Get the iPhone X

iPhone is always going to be "easier", "magical" to use. I own both the Note 8 and the iPhone X and they do the same thing in different ways. The pen is the magic of the Note 8 which I use 80% of the time even for navigating in the UI and writing instead of typing, but then again after that magic there is the Apple ease of use and stability* that most still prefer and that jails the users in a good way.

I've never got on with the FP scanner on the back of the S8. In fact transitioning back to the SE has reminded me how much i miss having touch id under the screen, and the ease of use that brings. I know Samsung had to move it but the placement is dreadful and no amount of perseverance on my part (5 months) made things any easier. Sad that the future means big screen less usability.

Front fps so cannot make it since your have to use both hands. Back fps is easier as it is located at the natural position of your index finger and can be unlocked with one hand holding the phone

I switched from my 7 to the s8+ and I loved the screen display.. but that’s about it!

iPhone is my preference. Even with its 1080p the screen is perfect for everyday use to our normal apps.

Thankfully I didn’t sell or trade in my 7 to get the s8+. The phone is too damn big for my liking and as already mentioned, the lack of a home screen button was a no go for me. I gave up on the s8+ after 3.5 days. Returning that overpriced phone this weekend lol
Overpriced? That award goes to the iPhone, I love Apple and I own a iPhone myself but come on the iPhone is overpriced

I paid ATT the early day off fee so I could trade in my Note 8 and go with 30 month / $33mo. iPhone X.i tried the iPhone 8 Plus but while I liked it, it's still mostly same as my 6S Plus.

Very much love Face ID of X, and was afraid the X was too small after owning larger phones, incl Note and an S8+ (which is my backup, weighs same-ish as X).

I had gotten to detect the Samsung fps. Also move away from Samsung and Google, and OneDrive, fully.

We can agree that every phone nowadays is overpriced, Apple just goes on another level and others follow which is ridiculous and soon we'll see iPhones with the starting price of a MacBook Pro.

Would not be shocked if that happened this year.

In actual fact, the Galaxy Note8 and iPhone X down here in South Africa are about the price of a Macbook Pro in the USA, both iPhone X and Note8 are around the R25,000 range and converted to USD that is around $2000 at the current exchange rate.

That's insane! I hope the crazy prices stop somehow. I love my Note 8 and iPhone X equally but they are not worth $1000+ at all.

Do you run both phones together or saw then over now and again? How does it work for you?
I usually use the iPhone outside and keep the Note to use while at Home, sometimes I tend to switch back and forth, it's not an hassle since I use Google services.

The Note 8 is a large device and I do not use the s pen at all since I have had the phone.

Apple does some things on the device though some I enjoy a lot and others that I dislike a lot. I want to switch back to Apple but I think I am going to stick with Samsung....

Note 8 is crazy big but only for certain people geared towards business. I wouldn't recommend it for casuals.

I would agree. It similar in size to an 8 plus though.....
Indeed, it's slightly taller and thicker than an iPhone 8 Plus.

I love how the Note8 fits so much more screen relative to its body. :)

It's a good phone for casuals though. You have an amazing dual camera system on the back, the gimmicky gif feature with the S-Pen, the S-Pen works with shopping for groceries w/ a list, it's nice and big for people who have difficulty reading smaller screen print, etc. The Note series used to be more productivity and power user based but it is really mainstream now. The specs difference between the Galaxy S and Note are more marginalized than the beginning. The S line is still more causal friendly, which I agree with.
