Don't be late next time.

You were late, next! If your Apple Store is busy, there was likely a line of people that were ready to take your time. I would have asked for a Manager and asked for a little mercy. Odds are, they would have put you next in line. Are you one of those "chronically late" people?

I have never been on time for my appt. I usually go 10 minutes late and they put me as the first one once a seat opens.

This was 11am appointment (receipt for my 4S) and able to get it on 11.55am. If I (you) wait they should wait (or just help you after the current customer)... This is what CS is and I don't understand ppl callin Apple CS perfect... If they were perfect (also company) they should release official statement about all this iPhone 5 problems and ask users w/ problems to come Apple Store's for replacement.

Knowing that some ppl are not aware these problems or decide to use their devices as they are because they believe replacement devices will have same problems must be a huge shame for a company like Apple.

But who cares you? They care their stocks only...

Good job Apple...

When I went to the apple store to get my dented white phone swapped out, I waited 30 minutes because they only had 2 geniuses working during that time.

3 minutes late is still late... They were probably just following protocol.

Leave with plenty of spare time for your next appointment.

so it's okay for the geniuses to make the customers wait 20-30 minutes, but when a customers comes 3 minutes late then it's a problem?

We're customers trying to get a fix for a phone that's not even a week old; stop treating apple stores like some sort of religious building

I can say the same about the countless genius appointments where i had to wait 30 minutes even though I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment.

Am i supposed to suck it up too ?

the OP said 3 minutes; for all we know, he could've been stuck in unforeseen traffic conditions. sure, apple stores are busy and customers should arrive as punctual as possible, but 3 minutes..really?

When you are late, "Late is late"
When geniuses are late, "Are you serious? We are busy!"

I also had to wait 20 minutes more even when I arrived 15 minutes earlier.

So you are mad / upset with Apple because YOU were late.

I fail to see how this is Apple's fault.

I am not religious and not a friend to Apple. Please do not insult me.

This is a forum and if you don't like what you read then be mature and move on. Insults are against forum policy.

I do how ever arrive to my appointments on time.

Perhaps if you really want your phone fixed promptly then arriving on time would be a good idea.

Of all my visits, I've only had two good experiences with the Genius Bar. They just don't seem to give a care. I try and schedule early in the morning before they deal with all the customers the entire day. Showing up 10 minutes early helps as well.

Everyone is really giving the OP a hard time about being late, 3 minutes isn't very late, I feel like he got screwed over. Plus, he is a fellow Cardinals fan, he must be super awesome and had some important stuff to do, hence why he was late.

I have a genius appointment tomorrow myself at the Chandler Apple store, I guess I better show up 20 minutes early to accomodate the almighty genius bar employees.

I'm going to be the Ass here.

You made the appointment at 12:30 correct? What have you learned (should have learned) as you were growing up about showing up EARLY for appointments?

I've seen how busy these stores get and if your name is called and you're not there, they move on to the next person. It's that simple. Nobody else should have to wait or adjust their time because you were three minutes late.

Hence why it's call an appointment. Lol

Completely agree with this... The OP was late and would have just back logged others that arrived on time.

I get three minutes isn't the largest deal however I have to agree with the poster above. Don't make an appointment if you cannot keep the time. In any business scenario it reflects terribly on you.

Wow, as if you've never been running a couple minutes before in your lives. Its not like he strolled in 45 minutes late with a Starbucks latte in his hand. Get off your high horses. If they took the next customer, they should have taken the OP afterward instead of dismissing him completely. But of course, you all are probably gonna tell me that "Apple can do no wrong." SMH. I would hate to live your lives.

I would have demanded to see the manager and waste his time complaining and having him explain to me the policy of forcing me out at 3 minutes. That's ridiculous. I've been there many times where I had to wait after my appointment time.

It goes both ways.

Some of are you are just too nice. shrug

Please don't waste MacRumors' server space, nor readers' time, with an issue that is between you and the Apple Store.
Especially when you were late.

I'm sure there were other customers who needed Apple's time too,
regardless of the fact that you are really really special.

Maybe next time walk up to the bar and ask each of the waiting customers if they have an issue that is less important than yours and if they would kindly yield to you their precious time slot. I'm pretty certain I know what you will be told. :D

To the morons whinging about having to wait xyz mins to see a genius...

Most often, I suspect people like the thread starter MAKE the apple store run late, because they suck up too much to fit these idiots in.

You have an appointment time. If you can't make it - tough.

I for one am really glad apple stores seem to be clamping down on this stupidity.

Surely if you are late, then if the already behind schedule Genius put you in the queue behind someone else, that will most likely put them behind even more...

I know at my doctors, if you aren't there for your appointment and are more than 5 minutes late, they will not see you and you have to reschedule, so I don't think Apple's policy is anything 'new' or 'unheard of'

And 'shoe on the other foot', if you arrived on time and the Genius said - 'Sorry Sir you will have to wait 10/15 minutes because the person before you arrived late....'

You would come on here and moan about that.... you can't have it all.

Yeah. Lol. That's the only reason. Not the fact that the geniuses didn't overbook? Mmhmm

Oh its a business, like hotels overbook, because tossers don't turn up etc. Thats fine, I accept some days will be better than others.

Look at it another way then, you have an appointment at 10:30, its already 11 and you haven't been seen. You're next in line.

Next time, up steps Mr Tosspot. "Oh hello, I'm late can I be seen please".

Turns out its an intermittant fault which needs testing. 11:20 - you're still waiting.

Obviously this is extreme, but you can see my point surely?

It is NOT rocket science - BE ON TIME.

If it was that big of a deal, you should have asked to see a manager. Not post here about how you were late and people should make an exception for you. ;)

Hence why it's call an appointment. Lol

Well that can go either way. We make an appointment for a certain time with them and we can't be late while the Apple Genius can be late to see us?

Or were Apple Geniuses not taught about showing up on time for appointments?

try using the same argument, and same pathetic eye roll smiley at your doctors next time you're late being seen. Its just the way the world works. :)
