Rubbernecking at the great train wreck? ;)

Now that's funny LOL :D

OP I am soooo with you. Once my contract is up I'm done.

$100 a month for three years is $3600! I could have bought a MBP with 24" LED for that.

I've got two more years on this damn thing and I hate it. It's gone back for repairs twice already and this last refurb is going back again (stuck on headphones for no reason).

Two years from now I'll get a new 17" and pre-paid tracphone.
:mad::mad::mad:

I just downloaded a piece of software called BluePhoneElite2 and I can send and receive texts from my computer via bluetooth! Booya! I don't even need to type on the phone's number pad if I'm near a computer. Nice!

Does anyone know if they make something like BluePhoneElite for the iPod touch… cause then I'd be able to text right from my iPod!

Cool...link?

EDIT: $25?

I'm kind of excited to see what he gets obsessed with next! His new tv? A camera? Think of the options! :p
Many options out there for sure.

I think I'm going to change my life.
Don't say, do. :)

Snort. Funny way to put it.

I didn't change it the first time and I thought the merged spaz thread was a stupid title.
But accurate.

Well to address the original topic, I think this is too much over-thinking for something as simple as a phone. As far as the bezel not being flush, does everything have to be perfect? My phone isn't flush like you say either, but it's not really a problem. Easiest thing to do is to flip a coin if you can't decide. Simple as that.

Booyah! So you found a way to text people from your computer? Awesome! Where can I sign up? I mean, let's find a computer to send a quick text message! Oh yeah!

That coin would have to be in mint condition :D

At various times the OP does have some valid points. They are lost in in the seemingly chaff of obsessing about his choices and saying how bad the iPhone is on one thread then reversing course and saying how great it is.

I think one of his points is the cost, it is expensive and what do you get, a device that's incredibly easy to text, and surf the web, run programs and do a lot of things that a traditional phone cannot do. The bottom line is if its taking over your life or the cost is such that's impacting your quality of life then maybe its time to move on.

Instead of creating threads left and right proposing what you're doing, just do it. If you don't like the iPhone, or the cost or the features, that's ok, it doesn't suit everyone. Why create a threads over and over obsessing about it - just sell your phone, get a go phone and be done with it. I'm sure you'll garner more respect from doing that then whining about it here.

If someone responded to this point, forgive me.

TheSpaz? I don't understand your issue with coming home and not having much to do on your computer and that you're bored. I really don't. Do you HAVE to come home and use your computer? Can't you enjoy reading a book, taking a walk, spending time off-line with your girlfriend, skateboarding, or anything like that?

You use these expressions like having to justify your usage of the iPhone, and getting home and not having anything to do on the computer. Stop letting the devices control you. They are a monkey on your back. I said it months ago - you need to speak to someone. A professional. I don't think you're crazy. But you perhaps have an unhealthy obsessions/addiction to technology which could hopefully be diverted elsewhere.

I appreciate your concern for me. I was just much more social and happier when all I had was an iPod touch. I know, it's kind of hard to believe but if I'm disconnected from the internet EVERYWHERE, I tend to be more outgoing and social to people around me.

So many times I'm told "Put that damn thing away!" and I think to myself "If you were paying $100 a month for it, you would want to use it too".

When I had an iPod touch... it didn't bother me if I couldn't use it for a whole day... I wouldn't care if I had to wait to check my email. I could do that stuff when I got home... and while I was out, I would interact with my friends more.

The sucky part is... all of my friends have iPhones now... so they're the one's who are in iPhone-land all the time and that's probably going to be the hardest part about switching. No longer are my friends going to be connected with me the same way wirelessly... if they have to get ahold of me, they'll have to call me or email me. It's definitely going to change the way I communicate from distances, but it will improve my person-to-person life.

Maybe what else I'm looking for is... a change. I'll be able to save more money... and I won't be so dependent on a phone. The other thing is... I'm sick of my iPhone cracking (the plastic). Oh well... such is life.

It's time for me to move on and I'm dead serious about doing this change. I've already got my moto-razr ready and activated... I'm just waiting for the iPod touch 3G to launch before I call AT&T to cancel my iPhone plan.

Wish me luck! Thanks to those who didn't flame me. I'm sorry I've caused so much pain to this forum for the other people. I don't see how my threads were harmful to you, but I guess I affected people.... I'm sorry.

Enjoy the iPhone forum... I'll be over in the iPod touch forum if anyone needs me.

Goodbye.
