Thanks for the tip. The fact is. I don't *NEED* texting. It's just way too easy on the iPhone! It's so easy to accidentally text too much on the iPhone. It wouldn't hurt me to call someone every once in a while. Texting is the only reason why I have kept the iPhone for as long as I have. However, sending cute messages to my girlfriend isn't worth $1200 per year. Those are my feelings.

There's also other alternatives to texting... Email, AIM, etc. Thanks for that link though. I looked at it, but I probably won't be getting one.

I dont see how it is easier than any other phone ive used. In fact, i think i have more typing errors on the iPhone than any other ive used.
Actually when i had my BB Pearl, i loved how it typed texts and i think it is better imo but since the iPhone does much more, it was something i decided i could live with.

Good luck with your Razr. Ive never had one and everybody i know that does or did...hated them. I do agree with Sam though. Your logic is really weird on this but it is par for the course on other topics i have read. You must have a real cush job if your saying you wont be texting much with a regular phone because it is harder.....lol

I know that it sounds like I made up my mind, but I might be trying to talk myself into doing something I'll regret. I wanted real opinions. By the way, my friends all have iPhones and they don't want me to get rid of mine. They call me "Mr. Apple"... Hehe. When I told them I'm giving up my iPhone, they didn't take me seriously because they know how much I love it.

The other thing is: If I don't use my iPod touch for a week, I won't feel guilty. If I don't use my iPhone for a week, I'll be upset that I'm not getting my money's worth. Does that make sense?

Yes, and is why i hate AT&T and dont have them. Much cheaper using the iPhone on T-Mobile. Not to mention AT&T service sucks.

I still have my first gen iPod and will probably never get rid of it. I hardly ever use it anymore since ive had my iPhone. I do hate the chrome on the back though . Slippery as hell and scratches real easy. Have had it it in a case since the first few weeks that ive had it.

I submitted bug reports for everything I found, so hopefully Apple will fix that stuff soon. Then you can thank me for making your iPhone pixels happier. :D
Not to bust your bubble but I would venture to say most will never notice.

It sounds like you don't even need a phone. You should either get Boost Mobile or the PEEK device. The PEEK has no phone - unlimited texting with a keyboard for $20 a month. Knock yourself out.

EDIT TO ADD: http://www.getpeek.com/
Neat device. Thanks for the link.

It will be interesting to see if it becomes popular.

What's happened to Spaz? No more?
He'll be back.

I would've thought that was a sure thing except that once he gave up on the 3GS, that was it. I was certain he would be back, but alas, it wasn't to be.

He'll be back.

Yea he'll be back , but i can understand wanting to save a ton of dough if all you do is text and constantly worry about if your screen is cluttered and about how many finger prints you have on the back.

Is why i dont have AT&T....they charge to much just to have an iPhone.

Extremely narcisistic.

"OMG look at me I hate my iPhone so I'm going to complain about it online so that I get all this attention!"

Really? I don't really care if you stop using the phone. That's your choice.

Dude, people complain about everything online. Get over it.

TS, you're still here, good. I apologize if this is asked/answered, but I'm curious...

Have you already dumped your iPhone yet? If not, how long until you can, without taking a bath on your contract? If you have the contract/EFT figured out, have you set a date for iPhone dumpage?

Or is this 15-some pages of speculation?

Sorry to sound rude, I just don't understand the hoopla. I mean, if Woz came out and said the iPhone is a bad idea, yes, that's a media event. But... maybe I just don't get it.

I don give a crap about the iPhone anymore. It's overkill. I'll be perfecty happy with an iPod touch. Everytime I go out and feel the need to tweet something and there's no wifi around, I'll remind myself that I'm paying nothing, and I'll smile to myself. There's an offline Twitter app where you can save tweets for later. I may just do that.

I didn't post this thread to see how many comments I could get... I thought I had some valid points. Some people on here get mad at me because I have different views than most people.
