I'm an old timer (Boomer) and I love the bigger screen size. My hands are pretty large so holding it isn't a problem, and I've found that it fits just fine in my pocket -- didn't really expect that but it was a nice surprise. I'll never go back to a smaller phone. The only real drawback is the added weight, but at least in my case it's well worth it.

Having owned the 6+, 7+ and 8+ I have to say that the larger size makes it very comfortable to use as a reading device but this comes at the expense of bigger size and weight which makes it harder for the device to fit in pants/shorts. An added benefit of the larger size is a larger battery, which always comes in handy.

Currently rocking an iPhone 12 Pro. Loving the size but the battery life hasn't been great lately.
Honestly, with some of my shorts/pants I carry my regular Pro in my hands vs. pocket.

I don't mind the weight so much, if you alternate hands — it can even be a passive workout :D

Hey guys, I'm considering getting a Max model for the first time, and it's huge size is my only concern. I am 6.1' and my hands are proportional. Anyone here, who made this change and has regretted it? Thanks!
I've had all sorts of different Iphones. Went from a 6 to a 8+ and loved the size difference. Then I got a X max and it got even better for me. Then it was 11PM, 12PM and now on a 14PM. I'm 6' and the size is not an issue for me. Many may differ but for me once I went to the bigger screens I can't go back to the smaller..

Go to the apple store and mess with one for a little bit. See if it fits you well

Thanks, I already have and the regular Pro looked small for a moment. I think I need to spend more time at the store :)

I went from 13P to 13PM last year. Loved the big screen and insane battery life, but it was too cumbersome to carry around and use with one hand. Exchanged it back to 13P and happy with my choice.

Not the specific phones you’re asking about, but years ago I went from a small iPhone to a large iPhone. Hated it more each day. After 3 months, went back to small, and it was like being able to breathe air again. Never went big again. But everybody different 🤷‍♂️.
I should note- I don’t consume on my phone when I’m out, and at home I’m an iPad mini user.

+1 here

I’ve never been able to get a good feel for a phone at a store. They’re tethered one way or another so you can’t get a sense of the actual phone weight or balance. Plus the stores are generally huge so the products look (to me) smaller than they normally would.

For the last year I’ve been using a 13 Pro which I absolutely adored. But like you I wanted to see if I would like a larger phone. So this September I got the 14 Pro Max and honestly haven’t looked back since. The phone is so well balanced that the weight is fine for me - hardly ever give it a thought. Love the larger screen & battery. Give it a try and see for yourself. It’s the only way to really know if you’re going to like it.

Sounds great! Sometimes we have to step out of our comfort zone :D

Yea, we are definitely different use cases :)

I think it depends of how you use your iPhone.

If it’s primarily a mobile „phone“ for you(e.g. sales guy), you probably will prefer a smaller iPhone.

If it‘s primarily a web browsing, game device or entertainment device for you, you will prefer a bigger screen.

A bigger iPhone is less handy, that for sure, but i rarely use the iPhone as a „phone“. I’m not a sales guy trying to use it while other stuff, and even if i wanted to, there are still headsets or speaker mode to fix that.

There is one scenario where a big phone really sucks: One handed in a crazy driving bus, but i take the bus approx 2-3 a year, so this scenario has no priority for me, and usually there are free seats.

This text was written by two bigger hands on a Pro Max in bed, who cares, have fun with the bigger screen.

I had the 6Plus, after that I got the iPhone X which was noticeably smaller and I started to regret that I did not get the 8 Plus instead. Then I got the 12 Pro, 13 Pro which were bigger that the X. Finally I got the 14 Pro Max and I am now very happy that finally I got back to the big phones.

I went from X to 14PM 2 days ago. The screen is amazing. I can’t see myself going back to smaller screens.
Major advantages are 1) The bigger screen, 2) the bigger keyboard, 3) the bigger battery. For browsing and content viewing it is actually fine with 1 hand. For writing you need two hands to be fast, although you can also type with 1 hand but it takes practice and it is slower. I do not have big hands.

It's good to test in the store, but much better to actually purchase the product and see if it is a good fit or not.

Nothing beats real world testing, as that's where people can really get a feel to decide or not (depending on the return policy as well).
Repetitive tasks, and things like exercising and/or carrying it around are great ways to better tell.

I did the same thing. Went from a pro to a pro max. No regrets in terms of screen size. The phone is bigger and a bit heavier so I did have some minor issues putting them in jacket pockets and putting on seatbelt in a zipped up jacket.

In short, you will enjoy the additional screen real estate (and a bigger cost).

Well, I did regret trying to move from a 13 mini to a 14 Pro, so I returned the latter phone and kept the former instead of trading it in :) The mini is just absolutely perfect! I’m 6’ tall with average hands but I just can’t jive with these oversized devices that offer little (if any) differing functionality.

Yea no, I'm never 'on' my phone — if I'm speaking on it — I'm using AirPods. And I NEVER take the bus :D

Interesting.. so you like the larger form factor. 'Cause the screen on the X was the same as that on an 8plus.

Yea, I don't think you could type well with 1 hand even on the regular sized phone. And I have heard from several people that typing feels a lot nicer on the Max model.
