An "Apple hater" thats has owned more Apple gear then you most likely. I don't hate Apple, i just don't wear Apple Coloured glasses and see products for what they actually are. I work in the Graphic arts industry, i uses Macs all day and i use them at home as well and i'm a huge fan of OSX. I just get sick of idiots saying things when they have no idea what they are talking about, The S9 does not lag and is not slowing down, same with the Note 8. History does not equal present. Also my S7 was not faulty, 2 other mates owned the same phone and both of them had the same lag.

Your posts beg to differ than what you say. Maybe we should say iPhone Hater. Neither do many on this site, including myself. I own both phones for that reason as I like Android and Apple. But your posts have always proved to be one sided. Sick of people who owned the devices speak about their experience and you don't agree with them and say they don't know what they are talking about?!!? Laugh. I think you are that person.

Let me say this, many every year say this phone won't show the same issues as the previous phone. It happens every year. But again, it happens where the phones slow down.

I've owned many Apple devices. Here is my current list:

2009 Mac Mini, 2016 iMac 21.5", iPhone 7, iPhone 7, iPhone X, iPhone SE, iPad 6th gen, Apple TV, AW1, AW3

Had:

MBP 2017 15", Mac Mini 2012 Server, iPhone 8 plus, iPhone 7 plus, iPhone 6s plus, iPhone 6 plus, iPhone 5SE, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, MBP 15" 2010, MBP 15 2012, MBA 2013. 2012 iMAC 21.5", AW0, AW1, AW2. I'm sure I am missing stuff too.

.

I started off with an iPhone, loved it at first but eventually i grew tired of being locked down and having little customisation. I actually think the iPhone X is a great phone I've said it on these forums a few times its just not for me. Im pretty fair but when people talk trash i'm going to put them in their place. Nobody that has actually owned an S9 would say it lags and if it is lagging there is an issue with it and it should be exchanged. If you actually want to check out what a well respected You Tuber thinks about how the S9 runs check out Flossy Carters Videos, he tells things as they are, no bias like you see on a forum like this.

Its very easy to grab small snippets of peoples posts without even including the post that i was replying to in each instance to give a bias summary. Don't worry about the posts where i have said good things about the iPhone hey... This forum has become a joke in the past few years, it used to be a great place to come when there was a lot less FUD being spread around. Now its just an Apple circle jerk i'm afraid, if it isn't made by Apple it is just trash by definition.

We spell things differently in Australia to the U.S. :)

You spell them correctly with proper British spellings and us yanks spell things wrong. :D

The Saudis I go to school with learned English from a bunch of Brits, so their English is more proper than mine. It's weird.

Actually I've found it to be much more open to Android devices and comparisons than it was a few years ago. I remember when iFanboys and Android fanboys were constantly fighting and trolling each other and in insane arguments, now it seems a lot of people have switched back and forth and can discuss both platforms in a more reasonable and fair way, and I actually see a lot of good comparison posts here. It's also helped that Android has fixed some of it's security issues, a lot of it's bugginess, and Apple finally got a decent notification system with iOS 5 (that's what the 4s launched with, right?), after adding basic stuff they were missing like copy and paste and MMS in previous versions of iOS.

Im all for respecting people choices, almost all my posts that are Anti Apple/iPhone are a reply to a post where someone is just bashing Android for no good reason or spreading FUD. Ive been on these forums for almost 10 years and I've owned more then my fair share of Apple gear and i'm entitled to give my opinion. Its just not fair for someone to filter out my posts the way FFR did, its gave a very bias summary. Im also aware of the fact that Apple is the reason companies like Samsung are pushing the limit, competition is great for all consumers.

It's not laggy right now, but with Samsung history has shown the last 5 years or more, every phone they have had has slowed way down over time. My S4, S5, s7 edge, Note 3, 4, 5 (had 7 and 8 but not long enough to see this) all did this. I expect my s9+ too as well.

This video shows a 2-year-old S7 with latest oreo still runs rings around the ip6s with ios11.

Everyone (except certain ifans) knows that Iphone peformance degrades much worse than android over time. Every new iOS update is guaranteed to degrade performance of older generations. This is apple planned obsolescence.

I have the Note 4-sold, Note 5 and s8+. They didnt lag over time like you said. Your experience is not the typical scenario. Some performance degradation (esp Oreo) occurs when the phone has been up for over a week compared to a fresh booted phone. I just set auto-reboot every week and everything is back to zippy fast.

Yup totally not an Apple hater.

Btw most of your posts, your either trashing Apple, the iPhone, or it’s users.

And when you get called out on it, you play the victim card and throw a little tantrum.

I’m surprised how one member being happy with leaving android brings out the trolls. First time I had to ignore a members and I had to ignore two from this thread.

Nothing Worse than listening to members apple bash on an Apple forum to protect droid, please go to android central and enjoy yourselves rather than be upset at happy iPhone owners in the right place.

It’s not that you’re protecting android, it’s that you’re bashing apple just for spite in retaliation and that doesn’t make it right.

So feel free to post your opinions, I don’t need to see them or feed the trolls.

I have a buddy whose been an iPhone user for s while now and he's always trying to get me to switch. I asked him if he ever had any issues (like I was having with my Android) and he said no. So reason number one was the integrity of the device. Also, I just got the iPad Pro so I knew having an iPhone they would integrate well with each other. I'm taking a lot more photos and videos now and it made sense to get the iPhone because it not only has a much better camera but I can also work with photos and such directly on the iPad (using apps like Affinity and Photoshop).

I did not consider any other Android phone. I was looking at the Pixel2 and a couple others, but these would be android phones and I'd be having the same type of android issues again. The iphone hardly has any issues compared to them and I wanted a device that was more stable and secure.

The case is a UAG (urban Armor Gear). I had one on my Note 5 and dropped it several times on cement (one time the stylus even flew out of it), but it was never damaged in any way.

I still have a iPhone 6s running lovely with little to no bugs

I'm sorry, but it's not fact. In day to day usage, it is not faster. I'd say both are equal depending on what you are using but when using the CPU heavy, the iPhone will beat it.

Then you had a defective one. I had the s7 edge and it was fast at first, then first major update slowed down, then 2nd became almost not usable. Maybe you didn't have it from launch and already had the updates that released which made it bad?

[doublepost=1531954571][/doublepost]

Might want to use a spelling checker....

Your post history here has already proven you to be a Apple hater and an Android fan. It's not worth getting into any heated battle with you.

The S9+ I have, the battery life is very good. It out lasts my iPhone X. I would say equal to the 8 plus battery life. I can get 2-3 days out of "normal" usage.

Well I had the S4 and note 3 for 6 months and the s5 for 7 months. All were my daily drivers at the time. None of them slowed down. Although they did require some maintenance, like rebooting about once a week, clearing out the cache and closing my recently used apps. My S7 edge and note 8, I only owned for 3 months and netither were my daily driver so I can’t really say how they performed over time. I will have a play with my husband’s note 8 later on and see if it is laggy because he’s had his phone for 10 months now. Difficult for me to judge battery life again because the S9 plus is not my daily driver. However out of the last three samsung phones I’ve owned it was the S7 edge that stood out in terms of battery life. The note 8 and S9 plus seem average to me so far but again I don’t use them as a daily driver. I think it probably depends on what people define as lag and how they use their phones which is why we are all saying different things about lag.

I’ve never really had an iOS device run terribly, but a few stand out. The iphone 3G was a bit buggy and apps used to crash a lot. It was still useable though and better than anything else out in its time. The 6 plus did get a bit buggy towards the end of the first year but I really think that was due to it having only 1g of ram. They were the only two devices but they were not unusable in anyway.

On the android side of things its the original galaxy note. Now that was terrible. Constant reboots, phone switching itself off and overheating, apps crashing left right and centre. It was a good phone in spite of all that and obviously didn’t put me off trying more samsung phones.

Hum except S9 the X is 2nd best display, dont spread FUD by saying S7 and S8 is. See how FUD works , read this proof

Does the s6 screen support hdr or Dolby vision? Does the s6 have an average screen brightness of 574 nits or more? How is it’s viewing angles compared to the iPhone X? Or it’s white balance?

Or that it beat out the note 8 for best oled.

What about displaymate?

The iPhone X matches or sets new Smartphone display performance records for:
Highest Absolute Color Accuracy for any display (0.9 JNCD) which is Visually Indistinguishable From Perfect.
Highest Full Screen Brightness for OLED Smartphones (634 nits).
Highest Full Screen Contrast Rating in Ambient Light (141).
Highest Contrast Ratio (Infinite).
Lowest Screen Reflectance (4.5 percent).
Smallest Brightness Variation with Viewing Angle (22 percent).

Or the fact that the iPhone X has a different diamond pixel structure than Samsung’s Galaxy display (with photographic proof)

But you keep spreading fud without any credible sources.

I know for a fact android central is same with those biased members just Vice versa speading FUD and I going on a limb you don’t correct them there.

I keep up on both iPhones and android. Every two years I revisit if it’s time to switch.
I think the S9 has overtaken the iPhone X for best display now according to displaymate. However I think this is a pattern we are going to see with the latest release from Apple or Samsung taking the crown. I fully expect dispalymate to declare the note 9 the best ever display on a smartphone and then say the same thing about the iPhone X plus a few weeks later.

That’s exactly what I said, EXCEPT for the S9 (which is currently the best display) the X is the 2nd best display.

You read my post wrong, but thanks for showing droid fans we know how to concede when it’s true and not FUD. :)
Oh sorry it’s 6 am here and I’ve been up with my newborn since 4.30. So apologies for not reading your post properly.

I don’t think we will see Samsung being the runaway screen champs as they were for many years. I think it will just go back and forth between Apple and Samsung, at least until a newer display technology is used.

I think nobody from Android side has claimed Android is superior in every case.
I can't say the same about those from Iphone side.

And most of the time Android posters are just responding to some outrageous FUD initiated by Iphone fans regarding Android. ...(e.g. all android lag, crash all the time, full of bugs, info stealing, etc etc)
Exactly right!! As far as some people here are concerned members of this forum should be able to spread FUD without any consequence. Then they cry that we are Apple bashing, give me a break.

I'm surprised you didn't notice a slowdown on the S4. Granted, perhaps you just got rid of it too quickly. I had to help a co-worker backup pics on his S4 to SD card (after 1 year of usage) and I remember thinking somewhere along the lines of "ugh, this is like using an iPhone 4 on iOS 7".

Apple is still more consistent over time. The Galaxy S phones are wildly inconsistent, although supposedly the S8 and S9 are better than the S7 is. My S7 can be very fast, or it can be very slow and buggy.

I’m surprised how one member being happy with leaving android brings out the trolls. First time I had to ignore a members and I had to ignore two from this thread.

We should be happy that we have competition. The world is lucky that Apple did an idiotic exclusive deal with AT&T, as that's how Android was turned into an iPhone competitor with Verizon's money and Verizon's backing on the DROID series, as opposed to a nerd-fest with the Google/T-Mobile G1. Verizon's work on Android created competition, and now there are better high-end phones on both platforms and more/cheaper low-end options on the Android side.

Good lord. Who cares about the freaking screen? I have an S7, and I hate the screen. They should have put a 1080p LCD in the thing. The 1440p OLED screen is an unnecessary battery hog. Even the OP6 went 1080p. The other night I was showing someone the difference between OLED and LCD, but I still prefer the screen on my Moto G6, which is a basic cheapo 1080p LCD, as it's way more power efficient, and it's on a $250 phone. If it weren't for the significantly less capable camera due to not having the ISP in the SD835 or SD845, the G6 would be the perfect phone.

I do prefer oled but I got by just fine with 3 generations of iPhone plus models with 1080p lcd. Haven’t used a Samsung phone with a 1440p for long enough/ as my daily driver to see how it effects battery life, but you can put the resolution down to 1080p which is a good feature to have if you want to save battery life.

I remember that first android phone. My husband had it and I had the iPhone 3G. He really liked the slide out keyboard.

Got a Moto X4 this Prime Day for $160 after Amex 20% off. Older model but I wanted the higher water resistance rating plus not a fan of the fingerprint sensor location on the G6. Should be fun.

The Moto series are a nice way of keeping my foot in Android without spending a ton on flagship devices. I've been a fan since the first Moto G (which actually still performs the basics quite decently). :D

Newborn? Say no more. Been there done that and your fully excused. :)

I personally feel Samsung displays are top of the line. It’s a testament to Apple development that they were even able to take the Samsung display and make it better than the Samsung’s own S8.

I’m skeptical that LG displays in the next iPhones will be as good. I’m hopeful in the hands of Apple it might be possible, we’ll see.

I’m glad my X has the Samsung display honestly, which I’ll be sticking with for another year. :)

I am also not very optimistic about LG supplying the displays for the iPhone X plus. Their recent efforts were quite poor so we will have to see.
