it's not even needed. the "install app" button is present in the top right of the url bar, right next to bookmarks . lol. perhaps am I missing something but I don't see the novelty with this canary "feature". nothing new under the sunYou can already do this from the main menu > More Tools > Create shortcut and checking "Open as window". The only new thing is an updated menu that makes it more clear.
and by the way, it's not even true haha. chrome has gotten , from my tests, less hungry than safari. it's funnyAlso, anything chrome related shows up here, there’s the spam bots that spam “omg chrome is the worse browser, no privacy, who uses chrome anymore?!, it uses so much RAM and CPU, Safari and Edge are SO much better!!”
Nothing new. Everyone knows this and nobody cares — it’s still the most popular browser out there lol y’all wasting your time and energy by commenting the same thing over and over again
This is coming from someone who primarily uses Safari and Firefox as a backup.
have you got sites with implented service workers though? haven't came across any of them I must sayWelcome to the Educational Corner!
Web Apps are indeed a thing. A correctly-built web app, built using the PWA (Progressive Web App) design, can work entirely offline by using what are called "Service Workers", which proxy a remote web server. Once an internet connection is available again, any new data is pushed to the server.
Some sites claim to offer PWA functionality, but don't quite check all items.
I wish apple would just buy google
Apple should just buy the DOJIt would have to be more like a merger. Google's market cap is around $1.7T and any attempted purchase would push the price even higher. The DOJ would very likely try to block any kind of acquisition/merger as it would put control of major tech assets (operating systems, browsers, etc.) under the same company.
People still use Chrome?
EDIT: Why are people butthurt for me making fun of Chrome? It's a terrible browser and there's plenty of reason enterprise is moving to Edge (which everyone knows is built on Chromium so don't come at that angle).
Chrome is a classic example of something Google made and then stopped caring about. For YEARS Chrome couldn't even detect a simple password change and would constantly try and fill in an old password on all the computers I and my coworkers were forced to use it on. That's a shameful bug to have.
