I ordered some GRE study books yesterday and they are out for delivery today.....I was shocked and I always use Amazon Prime.....best $79/year I spend!

plus a lot of smart tv's have prime instant video built in. I have a Panasonic that has it and that is just a sweet bonus

Ya - my blu-ray player has it, but its always slow to connect and slow to navigate. I typically use my AppleTV anyway. Until Prim Video is on the ATV, I likely won't use it that much. Especially since we have NetFlix which has a lot of the same stuff.

I totally agree. Amazon is phenomenal. Order something by 6:00 pm and it is at your door the next day using prime free shipping (for the most part...sometimes it takes 2 days :)
Yep. Ordered something in saturday night (most shops don't do business/work during weekends), received on monday, and it's from US to Canada. I was impressed.

All I want is to see the reviews and YouTube videos comparing both devices.

I wish I had the chance to buy them even if I wouldn't in the end...

I'll probably wait for the Nexus 5, hoping it gets a 5 inch screen, better battery and snapdragon 800, plus new Android 4.3. And then I'll load CM 10.2 on it with its cool add-ons :D:D

Oh, and don't make it out of glass please. Thank you Google.

oh and HTC has posted the CRC on their dev website for One Google Edition v4.2.
Check the link: http://www.htcdev.com/DevCenter/downloads

This isn't a flashable RUU but is 400mb when unzipped - folks are pouring over the contents now to see what this means for those wanting to go stock or for building custom roms based on the stock.

The anandtech review mentions that the manufactures will still need to get their hands on updates before they are pushed through. It probably will not be the same day as the nexus phones, but maybe a few days later or weeks. The biggest delay are the carriers, which will be avoided and is the reason it takes months.

I thought they said Google Editions will be updated directly by Google?

Still better than having to go through the carriers, but just asking.

I see them using the links provided on Android Central but when I navigate manually to the devices section of the Google Play store, neither are there--just Nexus or Chromebooks. Why is it so difficult for Google to properly launch a new device?

They may let the manufactures know ahead of time and then google push it out. I just know the manuf. will need to get their hands on it. Apparently you can still control boom sound on or off and there is also different camera features than stock on both devices.

agreed. If I didn't "forum" I might miss out on them

It's really silly isn't it?

This doesn't bode well for the Nexus 7 launch this year, either.

Exactly, and then folks then wonder why Nexus devices don't sell as well as they could.

Well if google make it nigh on impossible for folks to buy them - then of course they wont sell more units.

It's annoying that this whole rollout is USA only, for a company as big as GOOGLE is, one that barely pays any corporate tax in the USA (as we all know), why they can't manage a global launch of anything is really quite pathetic.

----------

I saw they rated the One as faster...I wonder how? Hardware is hardware....
Anyway when you get the One please report back with your observations! :)

Watching the video comparing the two side by side - it's just small little animations and such that make one appear faster than the other. i.e the general speed of say the page/homescreen transitions and such.

To my eyes there was very little in it that was generally 'noticeable'....

They also said the HTC One appeared faster than the S4 with stock android despite the S4 being .2ghz clocked faster - although synthetic benchmarks showed vice versa.

So I only assume a lot of it is just perception & subjective opinion and in real world you'd be hard pushed to see difference between the devices.

very small difference indeed. When I get mine, I'll do a little side by side with the nexus 4. I know I will miss that little wireless charger :(

I'm sure it will be good to get back on the LTE train since I live in an area with very good coverage. Also, in the last week weeks I have noticed a few hiccups with the N4 and lag.
