Very insightful. Thanks for the reply. Do you carry all the phones in a pockets when you move in and out of the house?
iPhone goes in back jeans pocket sometimes. I don’t like to put the Samsung into pockets. They feel more fragile even if they aren’t. The Pixel 2 is small enough for my front jeans pockets. I carry a purse or small backpack or crossbody bag most other times with sufficient pockets in them for the phones. Most women’s purses these days are made to carry at least one large iPhone and many can carry two or three easily.

My husband is very tall and wears pants with pockets that can easily carry two phones and I’ve even seen him put an iPad mini into the pockets of some of his pants, mostly khakis and cargo pants.

Fast charging is so awesome. Yesterday evening I needed a top up. Plugged my phone in with 11% left before a quick dinner. 10 minutes later I had 36% juice.

Love it!

So its been 2 full days since I switched from the iPhone 6S to the Pixel 2XL. Honestly, I am not blown away. This is my take so far and pls understand I am not bashing Android but just my overall experience & any assistance and/or suggestions is welcomed. Keep in mind I am using stock everything that came with the phone

1) Ambiant screen – the user can’t change the brightness??? Its so dim I can barely view it.
2) Notifications & unread counts – this is a major issue for me. I cannot believe that you can’t have the number of unread emails…?! Instead a red dot…wtf?! I don’t find notifications smooth.
3) Overall experience is the functionability just feels clunky and not smooth

What am I missing with this phone? Someone please tell me how this is better than the iPhone 8

Honestly, it will take you at least a couple of weeks to get used to things - iOS to Android (or vice versa) is a huge shock to the system!

Dig through the settings when you get a chance.

There is good news for Pixel 2 users. Some of the new features on the Pixel 3 including Nightshift for the camera will be available to the Pixel 2 next month. I am very pleased that Google aren’t exercising planned obsolescence.

Hopefully Top Shot will come to Pixel 2 because it’s an incredibly powerful camera feature. I will keep a look out for a list of all the features that will trickle down. :)

Pixel 2 XL is also cheaper now on the Google Store website.

Funny enough in the UK, the price remains lowest on Carphonewarehouse. The difference is nearly 40% as it's been the past months.

I look forward to comparisons between the P2 and P3. If the camera difference is small some might be better off getting the P2 is wireless charging and wide angle selfie isn't a priority.

Plus no notch. ;) That matters to some.

Just looked and for a split second thought about getting a fresh panda one. 699!
[doublepost=1539114382][/doublepost]Uh.... :eek:

Well... that didn't take too long... Yup. Just ordered a panda XL 2 128gb o_O

Should make a good upgrade from the note 5 my mom has been using the past 3 years. I was going to get her a OnePlus 6/6t but she is a bit of a photo bug too and the 6 didn't seem appropriate for her.

Yeah I have reservations about mine but her and my sister are not power users.

So you all remember my complains about slow (read literally "trickle") "fast charging" where often times it'll read hours before a full charge I mean almost a full work day and how this issue was intermittent, well a little itch in my brain wondering about either temps or the thing not waking up before putting on to charge...

I found this article because this issue came back once again...

It's cool in my place in the mornings so usually the phones sit overnight reaching room temp or maybe a bit cooler... Well it's pretty chilly and so is my phone... Turns out that might be the issue.

Just what one needs in the winter if there is a power outage

I warmed mine up a little bit by placing it between my legs and chair for a few minutes, plugged it back in same portable charger and cord and whaddya know... Charging faster.

Not sure if the internal temperature sensor on the battery or phone going whack or software playing it too safe or a design limitation of the battery or what if it's intentional or an oversight.

I’m here with my Pixel 2 trying to decide to upgrade the OS from 8.1.0 to Pie. I am going to want to put Nightshift on it. I don’t really want Pie, though. Everything I need this Pixel 2 to do is going smoothly and I don’t want to rock the boat. I’m not really familiar with Pie since it’s not on my S9+, either. But I haven’t really heard anything that makes me want it other than I would like Snowball to have all the camera upgrades available since that’s what it’s being used for the most around here

I’d want it just for the sweet sweet battery improvements. But that’s just me.

I tried night sight yesterday evening while trick or treating and it’s as incredible as advertised.

It will certainly make people more inclined to take night time photos rather than not bothering because photos will unlikely look shareable.

What I am really excited about is what photos on future pixel phones will look like. In 2020 the Pixel 5 or whatever it will be called, will likely be the death of the DSLR for everyone but professional or semi-pro photographers.

I have ubletooth connection issues with my Pioneer stereo in my vehicles, I am not sure if it is the radios or the phone. A lot of times I have to cycle through sources on the radio or turn bluetooth on and off to get it to connecr

Portrait mode is improving for objects. These are straight from the camera without editing. I got no bad shots - every image looks good.

I had similar very annoying issues with Bluray during the Beta Versions of Pie. Bluetooth has connected nicely with all my devices since the 3rd build of pie.
