I'm interested in the P4a 5G but only for the screen size. Will this 5G phone work on a 4G network?
That camera does take some detailed pictures. You can make out the hair strands on your dog. Btw, what breed is the chocolate brown dog? Is that a brown lab?Took the boys out to walk some trails. Came home and they still wanted to hang outside for a bit. Zeke fell asleep chewing a stick, lol. I continue to be impressed by this phone. Such a steal at 350.
Of course it will. The rumored screen size is 6.2" so it won't be much bigger than the 4a.I'm interested in the P4a 5G but only for the screen size. Will this 5G phone work on a 4G network?
Just as many as before.I wonder how many people will be fine with flagships after using phones like this
Thanks, the only reason I asked is because on the Google Play Store they note 5G is "required" with the P4a 5G and the Pixel 5. Btw, beautiful dogs you have there.Of course it will. The rumored screen size is 6.2" so it won't be much bigger than the 4a.
My 4a screen is a little bigger than the screen on my GS9 but the overall size of the 4a is a little shorter.
So I'd figure the 4a 5G overall size will be about the same or slightly bigger than my GS9.....which would be appealing to me.
Agreed, there's a market for both although the pandemic economy could impact those flagship sales as people might be tightening their belts and either making do with what they have or buying something cheaper.Just as many as before.

I took a couple pics of our dogs as well. Hope they look as good. This is in the shade in late afternoon. View attachment 949181 f

It’s tough because the 4a takes great pics. Even the 3a does. But then you look at the Note 20 Ultra. Almost $1,000 more. But has the best screen. Really great zoom features. 108mp is great in certain scenarios. Then add the other cool features like Dex. Tough decision for sure.
Ditto, although I need to figure out how to create folders in the app drawer. Having one humongous list of apps (without the pages) is not what I'm used to.Got mine today but not either of my two cases yet.
It was easy to set up putting my apps on the homepage where I want them.
The only problem I'm having is with the Poweramp music player getting my music to work with it so far.
Amazon music works good offline with it though with the same music I copied in there from the Micro SD card that was in my S9 that the PowerAmp won't play. Still trying to work that out.
This is kinda weird for me... comparing my previous, LG G4 screen side-by-side with my new p4A, it looks like the former is bigger. However, the latter is spec-ed to be bigger (5.5" vs. 5.8"). OTOH, the former is also spec-ed at having more pixels and higher pixel density ?Really like that my screen is bigger than on my GS9 yet the phones overall size is a little shorter.
Agreed. I'll have to do more accurate tests, but it seems like the alarm on my LG G4 was much louder.Would be nice if the speakers were just a little bit louder.
I thought the Pixel 4A uses the home buttons, but I was wrong. It's more like the iPhone X in that regard. However, reading this, you do have the option to change to that! Reading further, not being able to customize the home touch buttons would be a turn off. I did that too on my LG G4... back button on the left hand side!I also have to give it more time that it's only been a few hours, but I can't decide if I want to use the gestures going back home or back to the previous screen or back to using the buttons on the bottom.
However on the Pixel I don't think I can switch my buttons around like I could on my Galaxy to you have the back button on the right instead of the left.
Also true with the LG G4 (and probably all the other LG phones and tablets). Sort of a "best of both worlds" where you can selectively set on a per-app-basis if you'd like it to always be there (for quick app exiting or switching), or to be hidden to maximize screen real estate space. It's not like the buttons take up a quarter of the screen lol. You could also hide them on Samsung phones and swipe up from the bottom to bring them up.
Some posts say otherwise, but I haven't been able to do that with a downloaded wallpaper. When I tap the "Set Wallpaper" button, it only lets me set it to home, home + Lock screen, but no option for Lock screen (only)Speaking of which, I still like the additions Samsung put on Android as opposed to stock Android.
For instance, I can't change my lock screen pic on the Pixel like I did on my GS9. It has to be the same as the background apparently on stick Android.
Little things like that.
I'm beginning to get the basics behind that. Swipe up, but hold it there for a bit of time to activate the "app switcher" feature.Another bothersome gesture I find I get lucky with using gestures is getting to the windows page where I have been before to either go directly to one or erase them. The buttons worked good for that, I get lucky with the gestures as I don't know what the actual gesture is to do that.
I considered getting the p4a 5G version, but asking around, general consensus is 5G is only worth it if you don't have to pay extra for it.Anyone holding out for the 4a 5g? I wonder what obnoxious price it'll be listed at and if the radios will be any good.
Nice shots! Your dog looks like he has a tattoo in his ear? ? Makes him look street tough in a way lolIn case anyone was wondering. Portrait mode works great on goats! ?
The GCam port on my Samsung phones did not work with anything other than people (think iPhone Xr single lens) but the Pixel/Google's own sure does!
The wife got a good kick out of that.

So far the portrait mode has been pretty decent about background detection but not quite 100%. Nor was my Galaxy S10 but it had a triple camera setup and primary used the telephoto lens for Live Focus vs the main and used primary to get additional depth data and that seemed to work very well in my use. Sometimes better than the shots I've gotten on the pixel but I still prefer the overall look better.
My old Canon T3i using an f/2.8 lens is far more natural so they've got a little ways to go.

I'm weak. I just ordered my P4a from Google and took advantage of their 24 months zero percent finance.
What's funny is that I was considering an iPhone but their 24 months zero percent finance deal requires an Apple Card which requires an iPhone just to apply for the credit so since I don't own an iPhone I went with the better deal and that was Google's.
Thanks for the info. I just went to their website, selected an SE. My only two options are:If I am not mistaken they still offer 24 months 0% option with iPhones even without an Apple Card. Its just a feature the Apple Card offers but Apple isn't going to turn down new business because people do not yet own an iPhone.

1) 24 months zero interest with an Apple Card
2) One time payment of $399
Haha, thanks for that info and I agree it could have been a little more apparent. I did apply and was approved for a Barclay's CC. However I didn't buy anything because 6 months zero interest applies to orders $499 or above and in order to get the max finance of 18 months you need to spend $999 or more. I believe with the Apple Card it's 24 months zero interest regardless of the amount? Not sure if it applies to any dollar amount. You select pay cash. At the end where you enter payment info you have several options to pay. Apply for a Barclays card that gives you 0% interest (number of months depends on price), pay with CC or use Apple Card with 0%. Apple should probably make this a little more apparent.

Google does it differently where the amount doesn't matter so my P4a even with tax is costing me $15 for 24 months. And incase someone might be thinking why is zero interest so important? Yes I have the money to pay for the entire purchase with cash but I prefer to use the Banks interest free loan instead.
So today I got another CC and I kept my Google order. One day i'll eventually buy an iPhone. Today was not that day.
I saw that but I was considering the SE vs the P4a and the SE totals out far less than $499. I'll eventually get an iPhone but so far the better deal for me including financing is the P4a.I completely understand. Also just a note. According to that screenshot I shared the 6 months of 0% applies to items $499 and less. So go get that iPhone I know you want...lol.

Edit: I didn't look at the page you referred to carefully enough, my bad. So it's 6 months interest free up to $499. I'm still going to go with the P4a as for me it's still the better deal and it has a bigger screen than the SE.
