I have to admit that the Pixel 9 series is the first time Google has truly impressed me. Both the Pixel 9, the 9 Pro, and the Fold look stunning. In fact, I think the standard Pixel 9 Pro is even more attractive than the iPhone 15 Pro.

However, I'm still very satisfied with my OnePlus Open and its software, especially the multitasking capabilities, which I find unmatched.

I don't plan on considering a new smartphone until the OnePlus Open 3 or something similar comes out in a couple of years. Until then, I’m more than happy with what I have.

About time. FP sensor hasnt been a good experience for me.
P8 FP sensor is better than the P7 but the P7 FG sensor was total trash.
I'm definitely looking for improvements.. I have no issues with the P8P but I think we're stepping up..

Technically £1,749 for 512GB is ok.

Agree. Less than ideal.

I've fitted one of the Spigen magsafe adapters to the back of my Spigen case on my Pixel Fold and it works perfectly.

Wireless charging is slow as sin, fine if you leave it all night.

I only use it to top up etc, charge it via cable if it's low and it needs a boost ASAP
I haven't had the chance to read all of the specs. Did they at least improve the wired charging speed? After having the OnePlus open it would be hard to deal with the charging speeds of the first PF again.

I found one for my Pixel Fold but it was kinda slim pickings and I actually prefer to go caseless. I was hoping to skip using a case on the new Fold, especially with the nice squared off edges.

No only supports 21w

That’s my only really issue I have

I have 100w on my Oppo find x7 ultra and 80w on my Vivo 100 ultra which has spoilt me

Impressive keynote by Google again this year. The AI enhancements look really great.

Google hardware is now finally looking flagship strong. I'd prefer a full visor on the new camera bar but it still looks Pixel distinctive.

New phones are now very compelling with Google software & hardware.

I'm hanging onto my 8 Pro for now as I'm holding out for a Pixel 9 Pro in Hazel or 'Grigio Ardesia' as they call it on the Google Italy store, translates to Slate Grey.

Be interesting to know why there is a long delay on the new 9 Pro vs the XL version in both UK & Europe.

Blown away by the P9 Pro Fold, major step forward from the first fold. I'm seriously tempted by this, I want to see some in-depth reviews.

The big problem is how much I’m locked into the Apple ecosystem with things like Apple Books & Apple Music plus I’ve never found a podcasting app as good on Android as the Apple one.

Apple Music is on Android. Check out Pocket Casts for a podcast player--been my cross platform choice for years.

It definitely takes some effort to extract oneself for the ecosystem if you currently use a lot of Apple's own apps and services but it's doable. I've tried a few times and I've come to realize I just prefer some of Apple's apps (Safari, Notes, Reminders, Messages, Fitness+ are some of my lock in culprits), how content synchronizes across their devices and how it improves quality of life when one's family is heavily invested in and prefers Apple stuff. Honestly, if it wasn't for my family, it would be a bit easier for me to live outside the Apple ecosystem, though admittedly still difficult.

I guess that sux for you lol.
I have Amazon Music. No tie to either, and I don't do books. You can use Google photos with both.

I don't even have Google ear buds. I have about 4 sets of JBL earbuds and JBL and Bose external speakers. And a Samsung Tablet.

Best Buy is offering me a trade-in price for my iPhone that would cover the entire price of the 128GB Pixel 9 Pro XL. Very tempting, especially with the added $200 Best Buy gift card. Leaving the Apple ecosystem entirely, though, is really scary. I need to think about this.

The app I would really miss is Things. I wish Google Keep were more robust. I don't like other (Android) to-do apps such as TickTick.

9 Pro Fold is a huge step up from version 1.0. The size of both screens is far superior IMO compared to the Z Fold 6.

AT&T will not offer the 9PF this year. Very bizarre.

Looking at EE here in the UK. The offer I've been sent is £56 a month and can choose from the ZF6 and PF2 as well as other flagship devices...

Think that's sold me on the new Pixel 9 Fold 👌🏼

Just want to wait a few weeks and see what decent cases and screen protectors come out for it before I take the offer up

I love the Pixel 9 Pro.

This year I'm not going to change it, because having the Pixel 8 Pro as a secondary device, the gains are not enough to change, especially because of the processor issue.

I hope that with Android 15 they solve the scrolling issues that the Pixel 8 has.

Well I've folded!

Ordered the Pixel 9 Pro Fold 512GB in Porcelain from the UK Google store. I absolutely love folds and can't wait to have the full Pixel experience. Google have unexpectedly blown me away this year. Their fold from V1 to V2 looks to be a giant step forward. If Google launched a Pixel Flip with decent cameras I'd have snapped that up!

For me, nothing is better than the Pixel software experience but this is the first time, I reckon since the old Nexus days I'm genuinely excited about the quality of the new Google hardware! Although I'd give a nod to the Pixel 4XL, 6 Pro & 8 Pro hardware!

Samsung need to take note of how to properly improve their fold each year. Resting on their laurels with the 6th generation whilst Google & the Chinese manufacturers have stepped up.

So what did I pay? Mine worked out at £1057 with £492 trade in for my 8 Pro (not exactly great but I'll accept it) & I had about £200 GS credit.

At that overall price, seemed like a no brainer in the end!

Now the wait until the 4th September begins!

For anyone who is still hanging onto their 8 Pro for now, I get you. it's still a great Pixel. Only issue I had with mine was the sketchy optical fingerprint sensor so I just used face unlock. Apart from that, I had a flawless software & hardware experience. Cameras are phenomenal, photos best in class, video quality not quite upto iPhone level but damn close. The 9 Pro for sure eclipses the 8 but I'll always look back & say Google definitely nailed it with the 8 Pro series.

Over to Apple in September to see if their first AI is full or half baked or can get anywhere close to what Gemini can do.

Yeah happy with my choice as well. Love the aspect ratio for front display as well.

I don’t need XL cameras as got other phones to do that job. I’m sure the pixel fold cameras will surprise people and look good due to the processing. The add me feature looks good and ideal for holiday pics
