I have a question for Fold users/buyers, it applies to pretty much anyone but obviously this is the Pixel thread, so I’ll ask it regarding the Pixel Fold phones.

When it comes to the phone folding, does it not worry you that it could break in half? and also over time, does that crease/screen become more and more unstable?

I’m asking as someone who has never owned or used a folding phone (outside of a phone store here in the UK). The price of them is pretty high, £1700 ish for the Pixel Fold.

I'm still using the original Pixel Fold and never had any issues with the opening/closing... to me it feels very solid, a lot more solid than Samsung Fold devices; it has a proper clunk when closing, if that makes sense?

The crease I got used to very quickly; but apparently the 9 Pro oFold crease is hardly there, so that's a huge plus point

I'm waiting for my 9 Pro Fold (will be selling my immaculate Pixel Fold on once it lands); I'll miss it as it's been a superb phone and works faultlessly. I'm on it all the time, that's why I've gone from my 15PM to my S24U and now stuck with my PF until my new Fold lands; that's how good I personally think they are

Is today the day?! 🥳

Looking like it!

DPD states its at the Preston hub as of 0529 this morning... Just waiting for them to update re the delivery time slot

Time to dust off my Note 20 Ultra too and set that up as my business device so I can get both S24U and Pixel Fold on eBay this weekend (hopefully, if they release the 80% off selling fees offer) - otherwise they'll sit in my bottom drawer

Definitely should be today then, looking forward to some comparison pictures next to your gen 1 Pixel fold.

I believe someone who owns a Fold and uses it everyday commented on this forum to say, it has held up quite well.

Every foldable that I had I got the Samsung Care+ or the Google plan, all my phones look the same the day that I turned them in from the first day. I only get insurance because I don't want to take any chances. I use the phone like all my phones with care but not babied. Crease was the same no issues.

I have had an original Pixel Fold since last August and it doesn’t feel delicate in any way…very sturdy, in fact. The folding mechanism is pretty robust and it feels like it would take a lot of effort to try to bend it past its natural flex point.

The crease is certainly visible but mine doesn’t feel or look like it’s gotten any more pronounced or worn over time.

That being said, I opted for Google’s protection plan on both it and my soon to arrive Pixel 9 Pro Fold. But I also always get it on my iPhones which are generally much less vulnerable than a folding phone. I like to go case-less and having the peace of mind of knowing an accidental damage repair will be MUCH cheaper is worth it for me. Had some water damage in my cameras on my 15 Pro Max thanks to some kayaking in the Med off coast of Italy and had phone replacement waiting for me when I got home for only $99 thanks to Apple express replacement option. I want to use my new PP9F ’naked’ as well so extra protection was a must have.

Sounds like my concerns towards foldable are misplaced, the new Pixel Fold looks really good. I'd like to see how the battery stacks up in reviews. If I can get a good price towards my S24 Ultra I may opt to try one, I'm assuming with my 10% back from being a Google One member I can use the money to buy a case.

My concern about foldable has always been about the glass screen and it's durability, after all glass can only bend so many times before it breaks (just like anything really).

If you are already a Google One Member can you still get the offer of Google's new AI subscription, free for a year? I pay yearly for the 2TB option but not the AI version.

S24U trade in price seems good; but see what you may be able to get on eBay when their 80% off selling fees is live; generally you'll do better

My PF is as new; had it since Jan and it's been faultless. It is well protected, but it gets used a lot

I can't deny the rest of the Pixel 9 line doesn't look lovely but is it just me that thinks the over-filleting of the corners and corresponding lack of symmetry when its closed makes the 9 Fold look ugly as sin? It looks like a fitted add-on for a regular phone rather than a homogenous product. The Z Fold 6 has a nice smart business-like symmetry to itself whilst the Magic v3 lowers the corner radius to at least give it first-glance. To me the 9 Fold is te ugliest phone we've seen in some time.

I don't see it as an issue at all. Could they have made it look better? Sure, but to get the extra inside screen real estate the added bezel space on the left side was necessary. I'll take it. These aren't fashion accessories. The OnePlus Open did it better for sure but it doesn't have the extra screen space on the inside. I'm excited to give it a try when I get mine in a few days. If it bothers me I'll stick with my OnePlus Open and return the P9PF.

I just think less aggressive radii on the corners would have looked better. Aesthetically the first gen model is a lot neater.

Looks awesome, is it just me or does the Pixel Fold 2 look better than Samsungs Fold, like it fits in the hand better.
I personally love the look of the Z Fold 6. It looks and feels as premium as any device available. However, after having the OnePlus Open I much prefer that form factor. Looking forward to the Pixel experience in a form factor very close to the OP Open.

It was neater, until you opened it up and used the larger screen and those huge bezels smacked you in the face, knocked you out, gave you a black eye and you fell into the cavernous crease and got a severe head injury as your rolled your way down to the bottom of the valley.
