Am sure there's lots justifying the "upgrade" to be able to use the "new" video capture features, of which precisely no one other than content creators will use.
But hey, people could say the same about the Pixel 8 to 9 Pro, but at least they actually look different and have had improvements (screen, battery) etc.

The non Pro, as per last year too, is still the better buy for anyone wanting an iPhone. Just a shame it's 60hz.
I am not a fan of the camera button to be honest. It just seems to add a degree of difficulty that wasn't there to begin with. I mean what problem does that solve? I can do all those thing onscreen in the camera app. I do like some of the camera upgrades. I do like the larger size of the 16 PM. It reminds me of the S24U

I am still weighing whether to get the 16 PM. I have had every iPhone since day one. Usually upgrade every year. But my 15 PM is pretty sweet.

I agree. Everything that button does, I can literally control on the screen with less difficulty. Seems like a gimmick they threw in because they didn’t have anything else in their bag of tricks to get people to upgrade.

Did Apple announce a new phone this week? The buzz is nowhere on this zzz....

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Nothing to see here.

Same old outdated tired iOS.

But hey, different strokes, for different folks I guess.

Alright, but aren’t we always touting that it’s better to have the extra options, even if we don’t necessary find them useful? You don’t have to use the camera button—they didn’t take away the on screen controls but some will certainly find it useful.

I wasn’t able to watch the event yesterday but this seems to show that button’s pretty feature packed. Yes, you can do everything through regular on-screen menus but this will absolutely get you into the camera faster.

I would at least welcome the super quick camera launch and ready to shoot capabilities vs. using the on-screen controls for those moments that may be gone in an instant.

But to be fair, it’s also not enough to persuade me to upgrade this year. Pixel 9 Pro Fold has my attention at the moment and my 15 Pro Max is still a beast.

Its not the fact that the button is there...it is how it is deployed. Long press..... lighter press...tap.... I do like the slide to zoom in and zoom out though. But for me it add a degree of difficulty that doesn't need to be there.

How you liking the new stuff? Pics?!
Really good so far. The size of the 9 Pro is perfect for me. Absolute Goldilocks.

As for the Watch, shocked at how comfortable it is. It looks a tiny bit large but I am definitely ok with it as the extra screen is welcome. The new watch face looks great and the screen appears to be sharper but it could just be because it's bigger things just look better.
It also feels a lot quicker than my Watch 2.

Bands seem to snap on way tighter with this one too. I have had multiple instances where my watch has fallen off as the strap has dislodged from the locking mechanism but doesn't look like it will be an issue here.
