Quebec? LOL.

Yeah I’m super stoked to be moving and everyone I’ve told that I’m moving there is like “aren’t you to get sick of the rain?!” I’m like I don’t care get me out of the triple digit heat! Haha
Nope, much farther east. Newfoundland. I used to own a home in florida, and loved the heat, but now....not so much. Rain is fine, just have a good jacket. It's raining here today all day, and it's around 15 deg Celsius. Wonderful outside.

Oh, is your name a HIMYM reference?

Please excuse my typing, I seem to be going down quicker than I hoped. Harder to concentrate.
By the way, when I was typing my post to you, my husband arrived home from a lunch meeting. I thought he was FedEx with my Pixel 7a. 😆 I'd been waiting all day!

I gave GrumpyDad a warm greeting and almost immediately the FedEx delivery guy arrived. I had my husband get my phone so he could get another enthusiastic greeting presenting it to me! 🤣

It was so wacky how they arrived so close together. I was so confused for a second seeing my husband through the glass of the front door. It took a second to realize it wasn't my phone delivery. I was waiting all day to sign for it so my brain just couldn't compute for a second.

And actually no signature was required.

Truthfully? Apple will price this at whatever they wish, they will add a little to give the impression that it is better and more exclusive than it's and why not? Its legion of fans will buy it in their droves, what, because apple waited and got it right. Sad fact is, Google and Samsung's phones will have much better and smoother systems, but the Rgument will go that apples is better, it musy be, it costs a lot more.
So funny. Already scared of an Apple folding phone and they haven’t even hinted at making one…lol.

Does anyone know if the hinge has those little brushes like Samsung to keep sand and dust out of the hinge? Had that issue with my Razr where stuff would get in there.

I’ve been trying to find that out, too. If I come across any info I’ll post it. So far I’ve not seen a mention of it.

I can't find the article or video where they were confident with dust resistance bc the way they did the hinge it's like two separate phone sealed and joined by that middle with support at the edges ...of course I can't find it ha

The fact we can find zip seems to indicate there is nothing to brag where Samsung spent a lot of time and effort on this issue to alleviate customer concerns

I wonder why hydraulics is not possible to give the hinge resistance opposed to mechanical that gives the dust issue

Glad I ordered the thin one from Spigen, it looks like it won't protect anything lol, incredibly flimsy, and yeah doesn't cover the hinge. Gonna return and get their armor pro one with more cover and covers the hinge

My husband works from home now most of the time. He just had some lunch and dinner meetings this week. It's kind of turned around these days as I'm the one who goes out and comes home to him.

Both are good options ...I can see the kickstand being useful and I like the side grip of they Dbrand case ...
Both of those have hinge protection, in your experience is it good for the protection, or does it do more harm than good, add more bulk etc?

There were some folks on Samsung Fold that noticed a few micro scratches with the protected hinges ...after all my experimenting I didn't see any on mine .. eventually though I went with a skin and used the phone without a case ...love the thin feel in hand for my usage ...

Yeah. That's what I'm thinking might happen. Maybe I'll do the 2 year protection, use a tempered glass and keep my thin non hinge protection case

I was looking at the Care+ info which you can do 2 yrs or monthly and the differences..

The Preferred Care plans provide out-of-warranty mechanical breakdown coverage and accidental damage. There is no limit for mechanical/electrical breakdown claims after Google’s warranty expires.

The Preferred Care Monthly Coverage plan renews automatically every month up to 60 months. There is a claim limit of 2 accidental damage claims per rolling 12-month period, beginning with the date of first repair or replacement. With the Preferred Care 2-year plan, you pay once up front for 24 months of coverage. There is a claim limit of 2 accidental damage claims for the term of the plan.

Both plans can be canceled anytime. Financed phones are eligible for both plans, using the same payment method. For more details, please see the Sample Terms and Conditions.
